Hi Streamer, 1. I was inspired by this when i went to SBH showroom to look for toilet tiles to overlay. Talked to ID after seeing first pic from SBH and she said can be done. but cannot be so high as in the SBH showroom else my door cannot swing in. As you can see in the second pic, the tiler put cement below the platform and just lay the wood like tiles on top. ID did not charge me any extra. I just need to pay for that few pieces of wood tiles that's all. Best decision ever made for the shower area. 2. I custom made my marble table from second charm, just tell them my ideas and the boss will ask their factory in indon to do it and ship to sg, I no need to arrange any shipping all done by second charm, I paid a $300 deposit and balance upon delivery after 6 weeks. At first I also wanted polish metal frame like you, but the boss warn me say will become rusty in few years. So I go for powder coated. You can get your table done there too, I think for a 1.6m, 5cm thick wooden top, about $1200. 3) "Can you post/pm contact for HH rack. Tks." Are you referring to the shelves in the bomb shelter? house hold rack?

2-Room Bto
andotang replied to mmoh's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Hi mmoh, I see from your pic you don't have to do a slanted one, just relocated the sink closer to the bottom wall and you can have a right angled shower screen. I see the drain pipe below sink is within the straight shower screen allowance, I did the same thing to my toilet to get wet and dry, I moved sink closer to bottom black wall. But I have 3 drainage hole in my toilet, wonder how come you all only get 1. -
I changed whole house 2 rm to legrand millia, those switches and socket from choo chiang marketing are very cheap, like 2 to 4 dollars each, i spend less then $200 in total for my house, and ID charged me $200 for labour charge to change, so total I spent less then $400 to get it done. 2 way switch slightly more expensive.

Hi dxhan, I read up about the hue 2.0 bulb and some youtube review tested it is just slightly brighter as yours is 800 lumens while mine is 600 lumens. However it doesn't say it can produce more colors. Can you try to match your hue 2.0 bulb to your lightstrips green as per your cove green pic to see if they have same color range. I tested my 1.0 lightstrips and it can produce your green too but not my 1.0 bulb. My 1.0 lightstrips also cannot produce different shade of white light thus certain scene like energize on Philips hue app doesn't work on my 1.0 lightstrips. Although I don't think I gonna get a 2.0 bulb cos my bulb is suppose to last until .... I die!!! But I just want to know if 2.0 can produce more green then just lime/yellow on mine. Mind doing a review on your kdk 48" fan about noise level and wind power? Cos I am interested to get the newly launched DC series. Thanks.

Ceiling Fan 3 months after moving in, I still haven't buy my ceiling fan yet. I need 1 for living room and 1 for bedroom. I have set my mind to buy the Haiku which cost around 1.5k each but I read the reviews on their facebook page and I have no confidence in their service and warranty so I hold back hoping to find a alternative fan. My second choice is Aero DC fan from Phylux which is actually a Elmark fan which cost around $600. My third choice is a very rare Airfusion Climate II DC Ceiling Fan from katongfanshop which is also $600+. I only want to buy a DC fan for more speed control and save electricity. Yesterday KDK Singapore launched 2 new DC fan, a U48FP and U60FW for $638 and $838 respectively. The 60 inch is too big, so I can only consider the 48 inch, my ideal size is 52". The specs for the U48FP is pretty amazing. Direct current (DC) motor adopted LED lighting (18W) with 3 brightness, CoolDaylight 1/f Yuragi function 3D blade delivers smooth and strong air flow PPG blade material for durability LCD wireless remote control 9-speed control Sleep model with On timer and Off timer Equiped with 1st Patented Safety Design Blade safety plate and safety wire attached The U48FP should be able to get at below $600 including installation. Can buy 2 and still cheaper then 1 haiku. Just loosing out to haiku in terms of appearance but this is latest from KDK, probably 2016 model. 9 speed and Yuragi function. So now this new model become my top choice, probably plan to buy 1 to put in living room first to test, if good then buy another put in bedroom. I probably want to go see the Airfusion Climate II first before making my final decision. The cons about this fan is it comes with 18W Cool Daylight which I don't need. Seems like it is not a optional kit too so cannot remove. The scary thing to me is, by default when you turn on the fan, the light will turn on too. So during day time when press turn on fan button, i have to turn off the daylight after that, which I read from the manual, need to press the light button 4 times to cycle until off. So end up have to press button 5 times just to turn on the fan every time. Hope I am wrong on this, gonna visit KDK showroom to take a look before deciding. Just sharing this info for those looking for ceiling fan that there is a new range from KDK that you can consider.

45sqm yet have 2nd bedroom, interesting floorplan, probably possible if without the bombshelter. I didn't talk to a lot of ID but I can feel your stress. Cos our project is small, probably around 20k budget. Not much profit margin for the ID, so I guess some ID if they very busy, they probably don't want to go thru so much trouble to make so little. It is a very time consuming project, you have to spend lots of time with ID to discuss and choose laminate and finalize your design. If you feel the ID you talk to is very busy then probably choose another one who pay more attention to you. My project is only 17K with the ID as I signed with Blum for my kitchen and Evorich for my platform bed. Yet she is very responsive to help me to complete the rest of the house. She is a ID but I didn't use any of her ideas, I thought of my own design and I am glad she understand me and help me to execute. I would say I probably just need a contractor but I gave her the project for being appreciative for her time. There are some mistake on the reno, but nothing serious, overall I am happy with my current house, especially my toilet which I spend the most, her tiler did a good job for me. If you interested I can pass you her contact. Love my platform bed, don't want to make it a storage platform as I want to put a ceiling fan on top of my bed. If room very small, will be very troublesome to access the platform storage as you have to remove your queen mattress. You need a carpentry quote to do the platform storage. I only did a raised platform with bedhead which is done by Evorich for $2.6k. Storage platform will be more expensive.

I have some question regarding your Hue 2.0, the power adapter for the hub is it 110volt and you have to use a step down adapter? is your hue bulb also 110v or is 220/110 and can just plug into any ikea light fitting? Your 2.0 bulb can display more colors then my 1.0? Mine cannot display green properly as it can only set to lime green / yellowish kind. Cannot get the real green like green leaves. When you mention location sync, which apps can do that? i think need pretty precise GPS to do that sync. Do you know the philips hue apps allow you to on/off your light from any where in the world as long as you are connection to 4G on mobile? I usually change the colour of my light using handphone while approaching my block, my wife will know I am nearly home and will unlock door for me.

So envy you got the new hue 2.0. let's just hope our bulb will last a long long time as they claim to be. I hardly use the color feature of bulb, only using the hue tap to switch the original warm light to day light everyday. I hope you tried the apps Onswitch too, it is the best free app for me so far as it allow auto rotation of colors. I wanted Hue disco to let the light sync to the music but it is a paid app which I don't feel worth it. How is your hue bulb serving you so far, if you have interesting ideas on your hue bulb please share it with me.

well my house is so small, i think only 7 meter by 7 meter, won't have a lot of different where I put it. My toilet seat is just 2 meters from the router. I don't need fantastic speed on my wireless as I have direct connection to both my pc thru network cable. Wireless only for handphone which is light usage. Anyway I know wireless is so slow as compare to direct connect, as long as my computer have good connection I am all good. Have no problem with the Philips Hue controller hub too, always very responsive on my Hue Tap.

Hope to see your ideas on your new house soon. My router's position is good, initially I was worried of the heat from router which will make the DB box stuffy, but so far it was acceptable. Can't feel any heat when i open that cupboard even though my router is on 24 Hours. By placing beside DB box, i can minimise the messy cat 6 cable which need to run from the box to the back of the router. The BTO network guy help me to cut a hole on the right side of the housing to allow those cat 6 cable to pass thru. Otherwise usually you can only pass thru from bottom of the box. I would say that is the best position to place the router in my DB box. Don't put in living room, if you on 24 hours and if you never open windows, you will come home to a stuffy living room.

Oh i didn't buy that $238 one. I bought only the letter box, metal gate and main door for $168 (model DMS V/3B), didn't buy the gate's pad lock which itself is already $138, so I decided not to use a padlock and just lock the gate lock and main door only. I posted that $238 picture to show that awesome padlock which I plan of getting, but now I feel no need already. If you plan to get Duro lock I suggest take pictures of all your lock then visit their main office to buy direct.

From what I observed if you have your wash basin and WC on the same wall, you will end up having the shower head in the middle of the opposite wall. However if I end up with a middle wall shower pipe, I will just do a wall ledge for shampoo and reposition the shower head pipe by hiding the pipe in the wall ledge to achieve a wet and dry toilet. I was lucky to get this layout but I got the layout with the plastic drain cover instead of step down slope at toilet entrance. My neighbours told me so many hair stuck on the plastic cover they eventually removed all cover and left with a exposed drainage.

Bought some fake green vines to decor my kitchen to add in some green. Added some green to my pendant light for dining table. Can also see my curtain track for room partition in false ceiling if necessary then just hang up the curtain for privacy. I finally managed to put the mattress aside to see how much space I can free up in the bedroom. This is the normal everyday mode. This is after I push all my mattress to one side of the wall freeing up the room space. For a small house like mine which only got 1 bedroom, every inch count so this design allow me to free up space for event like makan or mahjong session in the bedroom. Or even yoga session. I had my bedhead slanted so leaning on it while sitting on the platform is pretty comfortable. My initial idea was to put the whole bed on one side so I could put a small working table the otherside of the wall for tv or a computer. But then after mattress is in I realized I need walking space to tidy my bedsheet, thus scraping the idea to have any other furniture in my bedroom except a kings bed which is 2x90 single mattress. The amazing experience so far is I really cannot feel anything when my wife woke up cos no movement to my mattress at all as they are 2 individual piece. She can toss and turn on her bed and I don't feel disturbed. Oh another amazing feeling is my aircon, my old house the aircon is blowing from my right hand to left hand, whereby my wife sleep directly under the aircon fancoil, she don't get the cold wind much at all. Our new house the aircon blow from our feet to head, can feel very evenly spread out cold wind. So that's another good things which I totally never expected. From now on my aircon must blow from feet to head. On a different note, my Starmax outdoor unit is dripping water to the aircon ledge whenever i turn on my 18k btu fancoil, but doesn't drip when i turn on the 9k btu fancoil. Is the outdoor unit suppose to drip water? Anyone can share whether your starmax outdoor unit drip water to ledge? I am using 28k btu outdoor unit with system 2. Thank you.
