  1. juz in case anyone has the same prob.. apparantly i found the website for the eSaver timer.. www.esaver.com.sg .. contacted the rep and will get it replaced..
  2. hi mace, u hv any idea how to contact agent for the 'eSaver' timer thing??? (the one that connected for exhaust fan in toilet). I need to replace the plastic cover as it's cracked and drop off.. Now can't turn to activate liao.. u know any timer that does not cause 'ticking' sound one? it's kinda loud when it's later in the night.. Can't sleep with the tick tick tick sound..
  3. it wasn't tht bad lah.. so far it was only minor things starts to give way, but still feels disappointed coz i used them less than a month only. They're also suppose to re-do some carpentry work (which i felt time wasted waiting for the workers to come and measure and later installation again). I spent almost 40K+. I've done EVERYTHING. It's a resale unit, therefore all tiles (wall & flr), existing carpentry, everything is tear down and done up new.. the list will be too long to show up here..
  4. Hi, Juz wanna share my experience with Ideal House. Job started November and the handover was delayed for 2 weeks plus.. Overall experience is quite alright, i would say, economy price gets economy standard.. (of coz i'm not saying that high price promised good job lah.. at least the quality of parts used may be better ones). I chose them based on the critics in this website but realised tht they're alittle over-rated! Besides competitive price, the rest are (to me) not up to the standard i'm looking for. It's barely 1 month since i move in, some of the items are starting to show it's age (breaking down or needs replacement). I was promised using their 'BEST' carpenter but turn out that there're many 'problems' with them. The work quality is definitely not the 'BEST'. Maybe it's the pre-CNY rush, i'm not sure, but definitely disappointed with the carpentry work. There're stuff that they are coming back to replace/re-do after the CNY. Pardon for not listing down the 'problems' as it might be unfair to Ideal Hse, as this may be juz 1 off case.. I'm not saying Ideal Hse is no good, but they're just 'ok' to me.. Therefore juz wanna remind all the reno-firm-seeker that any firm u choose has the risk, unless you have close relatives/friends' recommendation, then it's a better assurance. Think as long as there's no major hicupps, that's blessing already, right.. As for K himself, he's nice and response to every call and amend every mistakes quickly. But he's too busy and have too many projects (pre-CNY) going on and sometime makes him confused.. Not really regret using them, his floor tilers are very good and K has given me some good design ideas, also used nice laminates for my TV feature wall.. and i have a beautiful toilet (all my visitors commended tht).. Lastly, best wishes for all starting their reno.. Pay more attention, visit site more often. It's hardwork but worth it..
  5. hi hi.. i'm staying at 184 currently (my mom's flat) while waitg for my reno to finish at Punggol.. WELCOME to TAMAN JURONG! I grew up here, can't bear to move.. The market got alot of nice food to makan.. But the best stalled (wanton noodle) has retired.. The stall owner retired on Dec07.
  6. Hi, Is HDMI cables from Best Denki cheapest? I don't know where else can I compare??? I saw one at Best is selling at around S$40 for 2meter (or less, can't really remember clearly).. Anyone has good lobang on this?
  7. So u didn't get the TV during Sitex? Sounds like a good deal.. After searching it for a while, came to realised tht it's a never ending process to compare prices. New models coming out so fast that we can't even keep up now.. Which means prices will drop fast too.. It juz depend if u hv time to "wait" for yr fav model to drop price. But when the price drop, it means newer, better, or improved model is replacing it, and you'll be then back to the cycle all over again.. Buying TV now is like err.. buying diamonds, once you bring bk home, it's 'price-less' .. I go for the newer model coz of the 'anti glare'.. i compared both, there's a great difference.
  8. I bought the Panasonic TH50PY700 for $5499 with extended warranty to 5yrs, draco HD box, $100 voucher... think not the best deals in town, but just tired of sourcing as we've been looking for a tv for the last whole months...
  9. hi, according to a website, http://www.thehighdefinitionstore.com/tv/t...istance-72.html, min & max viewing distance for 42'' tv is 5.3ft & 10.5ft (10.5ft is about 3.5m) My viewing distance is about 4m, I've just bought a 50'' plasma .. anything bigger is out of my budget.. hee hee..
  10. Mine is NON INVERTER, so 2 ticks only (INVERTER then got 4 ticks).. In the mkt, most non-inv hv 2 or 3 ticks.. if i'm not wrong.. I'll PM you the contact info.. ;p
  11. hi, I juz got a Sys 3 Panasonic (Non Inv) for $1783 nett. Comes with full installation, 2 yrs installation warranty. The only condition is cash/nets/chq payment, credit card payment will need 5% more.. I got it from Gain City, in fact, i juz came bk from the shop.. ;p If you need the sales person's name, u can PM me..
  12. Hi, Hope any kind soul could suggest a solution for me.. Here's my situation and usage pattern: 3 bedrm + Living, 2 pax staying only MRM (bigger as I expand into Rm2) - 'ON' aircon every nite, at least 8 - 10 hrs RM2 (smaller by half, area taken by MRM) - empty room, no uage (occassion mum would drop by but rare!) RM3 (Study rm, smaller by half, area taken by Living - short period, 2 - 3 hrs, not daily LIVING (bigger, almost 35sqm) - 'ON" fm 8-12pm at least 5 nites a week. Weekends longer hours if friends drop by. Do take note that it'll be VERY RARE tht i'll turn on 2 fan coil at the same time.. Based on above, pls advise if I should go for Inverter or Non Inv? Cost is also a important factor. I was told by someone, tht the refrigent for Non Inv (R22) will stop supplying to market from 2015.. That's only 7 years away, does it means I'll hv to change the WHOLE aircon system by then??? Advise/suggestions pleasssssseee...
  13. hi, how much you charge? Do you go to town area (hotel)? can PM me details?
  14. Hi Mace and Anyone who uses vent fan, Does the acryllic panel have privacy issue?? like when it does get wet (while showering), will it becomes 'see through'? For a normal HDB toliet, will you 'knock' on the fan when shower? Coz my window is on the shower side.. worried tht i might be knocking my head on everytime we uses the shower area.. I'm not very tall though, 1.7 and my hubby is 1.75m.
  15. yes, i'm replacing the hacked wall with glass. my unit no balcony one, just living and the window panels. reason why i hack off the walls coz it's very dark during the day. Replacing it with glass so that I still hv a room (use it as study room, so not need much privacy) and sunlight can come thru.. so where's yr new hse? punggol too???
  16. i bought a piece of the stainless steel soap fm daiso ($2) for my mum yesterday.. She said still hv smell after washing .. Maybe the CedarFresh one better..
  17. Fm my experience: I've a Brandt washer (front load) and it breaks down after less than 3 yrs of usage.. It's beyond repair and technician advised to change a 'motherboard' for $700++++ (almost fainted when i hear it). Now i'm using Whirlpool (for almost 1 year) and still happy abt it. In fact, found that the usage is easier.. pardon, i don't hv the model with me now..
  18. Hv been with this site for quite a while and thought of doing a blog to track my new hse reno.. But hor i dunno to do it here or Blog which i pasted 2 entries.. What to do now leh? Rewrite? or transfer, but how Nevermind lah, think just paste the Blog link here for the 2 entries and i'll continue from here.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My new home is @ Punggol, it's a 5 room resale. Went through quite alot of hardship before settling down with this. Me & hubby seen about 50 homes before we decide (thanks to the poor agent who brought us around).. The prices started increasing rapidly as we source and no choice but to 'bite the bullet' and pay a HIGH $$$$$$ COV for this not-the-most-ideal home.. There's a home we like so much but the owner changes his mind on the agreed $$$ and ask for higher COV after we verbally told him we would like to buy his unit.. After seeing 50 homes makes us realised that nothing is perfect, so we just settle for a 'okay' unit as the $ just keep going up. After the HDB first appt, we started our ID sourcing.. Went to a few ID firms, exhibitions, showrooms and finally settled for Ideal House. Chosen them because of Renotalk forum.. Been reading alot of positive comments and of course meeting up with the ID strenghten the confidence! Renovation has started for a week.. So far so good.. Now we keep our fingers cross and hope everything goes well.. Will post more update soon..
  19. Reading all abt this vent fan makes me wanna hv it too.. Question1: Will toliet become 'dark' (even during daytime) coz there's no more opening to the natural light (no more window)..??? Worried tht additional electricity cost for turning 'On/Off' lights whenever needs to use the bathroom.. Question 2: Is it easy to clean the fan itself? Scare tht insects will be flying in from outside when cover is not close..
  20. hi lifestyle/cantona7, thanks for the replies.. ya, i've a large hall, tv to sofa dsitance is abt 3.5 - 4m, therefore needed a big tv.. if not can't see their 'pimples' clearly.. kekekeke.. thinking of Sony's 46'' (KLV-46V300A, HD Ready, $4999 with freebies), but the price is still steep compared to other brands (similar specs).. Any comment on Sharp Aquos (dun hv model no.)? My Bose music system is quite old already, think more than 4 yrs liao, so i think may not hv HDMI input. As i'm not into quality movies therefore it's ok without HDMI.. as long can hook up to TV/DVD can liao..
  21. Hi, I'm a 'cables' idiot too.. I have a Bose music system (not home theatre but sound output is link to TV/DVD), DVD recorder, starhub cable box & X-box. Questions: 1. How would I know if my DVD recorder can use a HDMI cable?? Think mine is not HD DVD.. 2. Thinking of buying a TV now, do I hv to go for the true HD or HD ready is good enough? Prices can be of $2k difference.. I don't watch movie at home, so not really into 'quality'.. But afraid that will HD Ready TV be obsolute soon?? (for ref, need a minimum 42'' tv, thinking of 46'') 3. If I buy a HD Ready TV, and they're giving a HD box free, then will my TV becomes a True HD TV and able to receive HD program? 4. Base on my above-listed equipments, how many HDMI point/cables i need?? - must take note when i shop for new TV... Pardon for some dumb dumb questions.. hope to hear replies.. tks in advance!
  22. After many many moons of dicussion & debating, finally chosen the ID (Ideal House) for the new home.. I'll try to feedback when reno starts next month.. Thanks to those who have contributed their comments, really helps alot on decision making. Now, juz cross finger(s) and hope everything goes well..
  23. Hi TYM, I've juz checked out Closet, quoted me $5110 for 15ft.. Alittle out of budget for me, maybe considering 'downsize' my wardrobe alittle.. kekekeke ... Coz I'm really impress with the quality stuff used.. Impressive.. You lucky one..
  24. hi latitude, thanks for yr PM, well received. I've checked out ALUMIX & XIMULA, apparently they are the same company, only different product (high & low end), ALUMIX is the opposite spelling of XIMULA. Their pricing seems reasonable (est 15ft for $4200), will check out others before commiting.. thanks again! have a good day!
