Hi Neighbours, Heard a murder case happened at block 79C. Anybody knows about it? Yesterday night at about twelve plus, there were a number of police cars parked below my block. Only knew it was a murder case this morning but do not know the details to it as yet.

Hi Ryuki, For downlights, a few things to take note of a) Ballast b) Bulb c) The casing Ballast - try to go for Atco Ballast. The brand name is more reputable Light Bulbs - ask for Phillip/osram light bulbs Casing - i dunno how this goes but for me design is my key consideration. Some will quote u very high prices for downlights ($40-$50) and their argument is the casing is of better quality etc. I dunno how true this is as it all looks the same to me. Additional considerations will be whether u want a single light bulb, the voltage etc. I personally recommend to go for double light bulbs and 13w/18w downlights will be adequate. I dun think u should be paying more than $30 for a double 13w downlights with atco ballast and phillip/ osram light bulbs. Then there are spot lights/ halogen lights. Usually will come with a phillips transformer and the bulb itself. The price range varies for depending on the design of the casing or whether u are getting a double spot light holder etc. For me i got my single halogen light with transformer at about $18-$20. I think a lot of our neighbours bought their lightings from Lights Arcade at Balestier. I bought mine at My Lightnings House also at Balestier. The shop is opposite to Lights Arcade. For the dining lights, we selected a few options and sought our ID's opinion. Think it will be cheaper that way cos I think the shops will give IDs a cut if we bring the IDs to select lightings. Of course with the ID, things will be more convenient but then it will probably entail a bigger hole in your pockets. Have fun shopping

Hi Wildreds, Wall on my mbr also cracked. BSC had previously rectified once but it cracked again.. They are now doing the rectification work the second time. Dunno what recourse i can take if it cracks a second time

Hi Coco Mybibi, I am intending to get a home theatre set at KEC at adelphi. It comes with recommendation from my wife's brother, bro-in-law and my fren. I had checked out their home theatre sets and it is not bad. u might wanna pop by in the shop... think they might give more expert opinions in home theatre sets. there are also other shops in adelphi so u can ask around to get a better idea on the kind of home theatre sets u looking for.

Hi Wildreds, They called me last time but I think that is because I shoot a complain letter to HDB on the delay in their rectification. One way is to call the building service centre directly to check the status. I dun have the number with me right now but U can try calling HDB/ customer service officer to find out the service centre number. U can logon to HDB website to find out ur CS contact number. Hmm, think you should try to make time down this weekend to check out if the pipes are installed properly? Have they installed the cooler already? If so, u should run it to check if it is leaking. Alternatively u can ask ur ID to help u check. Anyway that is part of their service anyway. Hi Alister, I do think I have the same problem as you. The hot water seems to take some time to travel through the pipe. Hi TpyLo6, Haulage for 5 room is $1100. 4 room should be slightly cheaper. I believe ur lift lobby should have the rate. Besides that, town council debris fee is about $188 for 5 room. 4 room should have a cheaper rate. Your PE fee seems a bit ex. Is it because u r hacking 2 walls?

Hi Wildreds, If no substantial works had been done for the renovation, they might still rectify the defects. perhaps ask your contractor not do any work at the defect area first? IE they can do tiling or others first. Alternatively, you can ask your contractor to help u rectify the defects. All the best.

Hi, I will like to recomend Miker and May from Renozone. They had done up renovation for my house and so far my wife and I are quite satisfied with their services. My renovation had been pretty hassle free to-date. However, they will only give 3 D drawings if you pay a $300 fee. The $300 will be refunded if you engage their services. I had not taken pics of my hosue to-date as there are still some touch up works required. However I have the 3 D design so pls pm me your email address if any of you are interested to noe about their works furtehr.

Hi doplets, Yeah mine remained the same as well.... greenish feel... my house mostly done up liaoz... left with some glass works to be fixed after CNY. however lightings and most of the capentry work had been completed

Hi Gladys, When I checked with my ID, he said he had been contacting the HDB contractors to clear. So I also confused who is responsible for clearing the rubbish. The last time I talked to him on this, he said he had been calling the HDB contractors to clear but they had been sitting on it. Then ard this week, most of the rubbish had been cleared. I did not check if it was my contractors who cleared the rubbish or HDB contractors who cleared the rubbish.
