Hi, can I check are J&E's carpentry all comes with ABS trimming? I suppose all their standard carpentry comes with white internal. Would you happened to know how much they charge if we want to change the internal to laminates? I contacted E previously but he said wants to see the physical unit and not only the floorplan so told me to contact him only after I have gotten the keys.

I am just wondering if generally the ID / contractors check for defects for new BTO unit together with the owner?

Thanks. gotten this idea from the many T-blogs that I read in this forum. Looking at my floor plan, I will have only the cabinet on 1 side instead of both. Will also do away with the false ceiling. What is your consideration for changing it to blinds instead of curtain? @coolbunny, looking at your floorplan, if you want a tv-console and sofa, then probably not able to accommodate this. I dont watch TV much so no plan for TV console in the living room. Even if in future I want to get a TV console, it will probably not near the window.

I like your FP better than mine! Easier to arrange the furniture! I am considering a super single or single bed if not I can only have a small wardrobe. The bay window is planned in the living room with a wider width. If you refer to my floorplan, I have very short width from the window to bedroom door. Hence I plan to use the full width (abt 1100mm) so that it can double up as an extra bed if in case there is anyone to stay over. Guest can use that as sitting area too. I plan to laze at this corner most of the time, sitting or lying down. Not yet decide if I need a sofa.

that kind of design, I think not necessary for singles staying in a 2 room HDB. Unless u r always hosting and expecting many guests. If not, like what Ms Bunny had shared, u will always let ur bed down if u r the only one using it. So no, I am not considering that for my 2 room.

Vinyl flooring, kitchen top and bottom cabinets, MBR wardrobe, full height shoe cabinet, bay window w storage and L shape shower screen for bathroom. If you scroll to previous page, u can see my floor plan. Dont think I can the luxury of her shower screen. Seems her bathroom quite big. I will be happy with a L-shaped shower screen. Approach the J & E team and J dont reply to sms and E replied saying they only quote after seeing the actual unit. $20k quite high budget liao, if solely for reno. Mine is $20k all in :x So far my contractors quotes are around $15k but may + or - after seeing the actual unit.

Sorry not sure. Plan for instant heater so... But I guess the reason why pple install storage heater on top due to water pressure?

LOL! dont worry, definitely will take more quotes to compare. Just that some contractors prefers to view the actual unit before quoting so I guess I will put on hold my search for now until I get my keys. Anyway no hurry to renovate at all.
