  1. I PM u the name of my ID bah, think RT block the names. and to answer ur other qn, the distance from main door to my shoe cabinet is about 120cm, which is 20cm away from where my door when it is open. Not sure what is your query about, but you can just write in to their general email and my experience with HDB via email has been quite pleasant. they generally response quite fast. If you need to find an immediate answer, you can call their hotline or go to any of the nearby HDB branch office if TPY is inconvenient for you, but HDB BO u gotta take Q no. and wait... yes and yes
  2. bathtub u can discuss with @kyooko she is very persistent on having a bathrub since you mentioned about vinyl, I assume you did not opt in flooring from HDB. Not sure when is did you select your flat, if it is early enough, you can request HDB for free cement floor rendering, if not, you gotta pay contractor to do it. Vinyl has many providers and most contractors / ID I know do have vinyl contacts, if not, you can find you own provider. Flooring actually came very early in the reno sequence, earlier than painting and carpentry.
  3. I dont think you can put a mirror to obstruct view cos u only have a small walk passage leading to your living room. I didnt use any software so I cant help you on this.
  4. got request from Studioflatter to upload my floor plan. guess those previously uploaded pics were gone with the new RT. And I realised I dont have many bedroom pic... my wardrobe is only 5ft, bed is super single.
  5. Please also note that 3450 is external measurement, havent deduct the wall so your internal measurement will be reduced. to speed up the information for key collection date, you can search for your BTO on facebook, normally pple will create facebook group and share information. You can also log in to HDB to check new flat status as normally they update HDB website earlier than you receive physical letter.
  6. I think for length, you have enough but not sure about the width. u only have 2150 external width, minus the wall and the partition, u probably have enough for washing machine + some extra space but not oven. your room is 3450 external length, queen size bed will take up about 1600, that left only half of the room for your table + wardrobe. assume table is 450 and wardrobe is 600, that left only 700 max for your chair. This also means that you will not have walking space beside the queen size bed. if u take sliding door for wardrobe still ok, casement door then u need to shift the chair whenever you want to open wardrobe door. If u can accept a 4.5/5 ft wardrobe, suggest not to do L-shape wardrobe becos 1) not much use 2) very crowded bedroom
  7. Welcome DrewTan! Think u gonna collect your keys next year? You have a big kitchen! I like the layout of your which is long, ie. you will have long cabinets where you will have plenty of table top space. And the position of the bathroom door towards bedroom. You probably have space for a 5 ft wardrobe and queen size bed if you want.
  8. Thks 2roomer I bought the stand from the shop that sell usual household items. I think most of them sell it. When I go to my house tomorrow I will take the picture. Depends on the layout of your bedroom, I am sure u can house 2 single beds. If the bathroom door is as the right bottom corner as per your picture, then yes, a small wardrobe is possible. Mine not possible at the facing cos my bathroom door is at the middle of the wall instead of at the right.
  9. My reno considered finished after getting electrician to add more sockets so that I just need plug in once to vacuum the whole unit . but still got many small and household items need to buy... My favourite corner with curtain Picket & rail tables and temporary loaned chairs, they came 2nd time to replace the chairs, deliver my missing bedside table and replace side rail and foot board as there are defects. Small kitchen become smaller after fridge and washing machine Note: for washing machine, I have purchased stands to level up the washing machine. 1) the existing pipe provided by HDB is quite tall, need to level up the washing machine so that water level is higher and can drain properly. Remember to buy the bigger one. If not, you may need to get your contractor to saw part of the pipe away. 2) more space so easier to clean if necessary. My cozy corner after adding some cushion and carpet bought from TB Have been buying alot from TB via ezbuy these few weeks. making use of the prime $2.99 shipment membership. Placed 3 orders already and spent >$700 to date for new and current house. expecting more online purchase and spending more $$... >_<
  10. Good luck! I would not recommend a ceiling fan for platform as you will be able to touch the blades which is very dangerous. Depends on the measurement of your unit, see what is the measurement after you have chosen your unit bah. Using my unit as an example, yes, I would have enough for desk. my bedroom measure at 3575 at the opp wall from door.
  11. u got the floor plan of ur future home? good and bad, but if daztan u decided to go ahead, u can do away with the top carpentry part cos I think that part quite useless. my current design allows 1 pax to stay over using my platform. if more than 1 pax, gotta sleep on the floor. talking about this, seahorse 2" 3-fold mattress always got promo at $19, good buy :D. 2roomer, i think the bedroom allows 2 single bed but then there might not be enough space for wardrobe. trundle bed then u need to allocate space beside ur bed. another possibility is double deck bed.
  12. Welcome Liza! Time flies so u will get ur house soon! I like the design too but I seriously dunno whether is this good or not, highly depends on individual preference. 1 thing I dun like is the feeling of claustrophobia. I did platform for living room and I like to open windows whenever I m at home, so every time I need to step up to the platform and stand on the platform to open the window cos kneeling will be painful. so i gotta shift my ceiling fan further away from the platform for safety reason. So if you will be opening your window very often this is 1 practical consideration. Cleaning may be an issue cos while u clean the cabinets, the dirt may drop onto the bed. And changing bedsheet will be a headache too.
  13. To supply labour, tools and material to fabricate (L)11ft x (H)500mm wooden laminated day bed platform with drawers at window area $1,720.00 To supply labour, tools and material to fabricate (L)3.5ft wooden open shelf cabinet with laminated finish at day bed area $735.00 width is about 1m
  14. I agree 66cm is too narrow. I measured my width at the basin area, only 55cm which is very very narrow. I will need to take a step back to brush teeth. u already know that your shower area is opp WC? how? Looking at ur floor plan, I suspect the shower area is at the red dot, if not they wont leave such a big space unused.
  15. Based on this floor plan, the shower head should be at the left side, ie. red dot, and door open to the right, ie. red triangle. Reason being need water pipe in the wall and the black structure is the beam. If the original position of the door is at the red triangle, then u can be assured that door opens towards the wall, just like the at the bottom of the picture. It will be a bi-fold door.
  16. I think so, but it feel sturdy enough esp my platform as I have specifically highlighted this to the carpenter that I need to be sturdy enough to take weights of 5 adults and long lasting enough. basin is just relocated along the same stretch, nearer to the wall. Not possible to relocate to opp WC as 1) blocking door 2) piping will be a nightmare (to diagonally opposite) 3) block access to aircon ledge.
  17. Next is my biggest spending... built-in carpentry!!! I decided to do built-in carpentry cos I have good experience with my parents' house built-in cabinets and for our small unit, built-in cabinets will maximise the little space we have. Here's the pictures! Shoe cabinet to block views from corridors as I like to leave the main door open to improve ventilation. Bottom is the shoe cabinet and top are storage cabinets but open from behind. Below is how it look from the other side. I have opted to do a platform day bed in the living room: 1) I like to laze at the day bed (so shoe cabinet will help to block views from main door) 2) maximise storage space with the drawers below 3) act as a spare bed as it is about the size of a single bed. (I bought the sea horse foldable mattress at offer price of $19.90, very worth it! ) 4) act as a sofa when friends come over, so I am not getting any sofa. Think this should be the most used corner in future. Initially wanted a open shelve cabinet on the left but later decided to do cabinet with doors on top and middle will have space for TV / monitor. The tiny drawer is meant for keyboard. I am a computer person than a TV person. This drawer is giving me some headache as the initial front board of the drawer is too tall, ie. if I put keyboard there then my wrist will be twisted at a very uncomfortable angle. I have later decided to reduce the height of the front board so that wrist is comfortable but the price is a hole. This is not the end product yet as they have not installed the front board. small 5ft wardrobe. I have been contemplating to get queen size or super single size + bedside table, hence the decision is to opt for a smaller size wardrobe. Most probably I will get a super single + bedside table. Kitchen cabinet, solid surface, glass backing and tap not yet installed. I wanted to get 2-tier stainless steel tray to fit into the hole but couldnt get the right size due to the shorter than normal depth. normal depth of kitchen cabinet is 600mm but mine is only 500mm due to the HDB structure design, carpenter promised to search for the right size.
  18. Missed out updating the kitchen cabinet base and shower screen kerb pictures. HDB will give you 5 spare tiles each and leave it in your household shelter. In case it is not enough, you can purchase with BSC. If you recall from previous posts, I have considered to do a "slanted" shower screen due to the position of the window and basin. After consulting ID, she confirmed that straight shower screen can be done by simply shifting the basin. Hence you see that the position of the shower screen kerb will "hit" the basin. Will need to shift the basin later. Once tiling works done, flooring done, up next is painting. I have decided to paint all in white so that it looks more spacious and clean. I dont like colorful stuff. >_< Before painting is done and after flooring installed, I did some cleaning and realised that the there are many stains at the external of the window pane. As it is at the exterior, we normally will not take notice unless we clean it. So do take note of this when you do you defect inspection. Anyway, I informed BSC about this and they helped to remove the stains.
  19. I did, mopped along the grains instead of perpendicular doesnt help much. vinyl supplier did said that this is common for new vinyl and it shd get better... hopefully. or i can use cloth and give the vinyl a good scrub to see if it helps
  20. I also didnt know and I expect it to be smooth like wooden floor but I am not sure is it becos of the type or brand I choose. you may like to ask about this before decision. Skirting is wood, they will match the skirting according to the type of vinyl u choose.
  21. ahhhh... it has been quite some months since I updated my reno status :x reno started in Jun, more than half a year since I collected keys :x 1st thing to do is the floor tiles. I have decided vinyl but do not want vinyl at the main door and gate area as I am concern that water seepage may happen during corridor washing if I lay vinyl at the front gate. So I decide to lay tiles instead. This is how it looks like: Next is to lay vinyl. The vinyl I chosen are the clip on type and hence no glue or adhesive needed. Of course silicon is being used at the sides. As this is done by the tiler, he also took the opportunity to do the kitchen cabinet base and the shower screen base. Not sure why but he left many bags of opened and unopen cement. I have double checked with ID and the answer is to get haulage to clear it away. I gave it to my dad's friend and he got his worker to clear all cement for me. Guess the cement cost was already factored into my package but if I do not need to use so many bag why they bring so many? spare? just in case? One note for choosing vinyl: I realised that mopping on vinyl requires more strength as it is not as smooth as tiles... or is it due to the type I chose? not sure...
  22. Hi ahjack, yes, started in June and I am taking it very very very slowly...
  23. During the BTO selection, the type and design of tiles were displayed at the big hall. quality and workmanship no one can tell lah. For kitchen and bathroom, tiles were laid by HDB cos of waterproofing which will affect the downstair neighbour. If you are not satisfy you can overlay.
  24. kitchen and bathroom comes with wall and floor tiles. You only can overlay.
