  1. joseeng: tat's great, choosing laminates is the most interesting part grace: I've not tried the mover Chris. My dad got his friends to help with the moving tis Sat. Recently, I moved the fridge & got a mover to do it. Quite ok, got his contact thru a client.
  2. Grace, dun worry too much & stay to your list of agenda to get things done. I believe everything will be fine Sounds like the free upgrade is a good deal. Just make sure tmr they turn up & not too late.
  3. Grace: Thanks, the curtains do made a difference .. I din spend too much time deciding the materials though, I knew I needed a light & iron-free nite curtain for easy washing. Here's a closer shot of the pieces: Maybe your carpentry will be in real soon .. perhaps after your a/c installation? It's tmr rite? Pls test your a/c for it's coolness
  4. Hi guys .. busy busy ... just got some moments for a short sneak here Grace: I waited a week to two for the carpentry fabrication & installation completed for most within 3 days. Pretty fast yeah ... We're quite satisfy with the wood work. Design wise ok, simple & neat. Nothing loud. I'm anticipating the mirror & glass installation tdy, cos Edmund just informed & I'll be getting the City Gas connection on Thursday Joseeng: Just take note to check the parquet after revarnishing .. if u will get BSC to do it. I had an area in the MBR redo again on Monday becos wrinkles formed. I had yet to check tdy but hopefully no more hiccups. It's pretty messy & definitely dusty. The carpentry was coated with a layer of dust. Good thing was I had protected the wardrobe. Since Edmund cleaned up my house prior to the revarnishing, cleaning had to be done for all the bedrooms .. even the walls I'm afraid I can't comment on the painting becos din get Edmund to do it. Dulux All 2010 had a wider range of palettes. Edmund picked one Dulux All color to match the feature wall .. Treasure Trove KSJL: Your frosted window is well done. Nice, do show us when your service yard's blind is up I bought the sofa & expecting it on Friday .. as for TV, still considering 42, 50 or 52 .. argh, can't decide still Maybe I shall wait for Edmund's bill & see if it helps to make my choice ouch ... ... As for the living hall curtain, I only got one variation taken on my hp .. not brightly lited:
  5. Hi joseeng, it's listed as one of my defect items. Cos I got hollow parquet in all the rooms. They came to repair last week & this Sat will do the varnish. I'm suppose to get the parquet done before reno but their schedule too packed. So they ask me to do it later after my reno complete Maybe you wanna check with BSC again? If it's possible, book a timeslot with them
  6. Hi Bluewater, my reno is coming to an end soon .. HO next week I think Sorry not much pics to show yet .. but I'll do it soon. Edmund has done a good job for us .. really thanks for your referral. Currently, I'm busy cleaning up & get ready for my folks to relocate. Haha, one final jolt .. I've not seen my 'final' bill from Edmund yet I guess it's quite prevalent to have additional items along the way ... haha!
  7. Grace, yes we all will begin our new life at P@D. Soon you & joseeng will join us .. hehe I'll be residing at Holland primarily while my parents moved in to the new place. Ytd, Edmund cleared my place & complete the wash up. Guess my reno is coming to an end soon .. HO likely next week & I'll see the "bill" coming Will you guys be ard during the aircon installation? If possible, please do so you can ensure the work is done up nicely KSJL, I'm busy cleaning up the house. Wow .. hard work. Nvr in my life ... LOL!! Aiyo .. I find so much flies & insects in the house ytd nite, esp the lights surrounding Those scrawlies are creepy. Do you have the same encounter? I see woes coming ............ Today, the fridge will be going in. Living hall curtain installation will be done as well. tmr bsc guys coming to varnish the parquet. Forsee the coming week will be very tough .. i still can't decide on the TV *sigh* PC show is still a long way ..........
  8. Hi guys, I believe HO will be soon cos we're expecting to move in by 1st May. Our new flat's owners are very eager to takeover .. so we had to move on yaya .. soon will be lurking ard P@D & TPP So far, I've been to the 7-11 twice. Looks pretty good & spacious. Grace, I din get the a/c done by BT nor GC, or even AB. Yap, I heard the installation schedule is snake long for them. Workmanship counts it all. Whether good/bad we will only know in times to come *sigh*
  9. Hi Bluewater, you've got some nice decors that complemented your home. Overall looks very pleasant to me Your coffee table is simple & yet unique. It has the functional & sensational design you'll enjoy & admire for many years. I like it as in the possibility of decor combinations it offer, tat's a pretty timeless piece.
  10. Grace/joseeng: hey thanks .. enjoyed my weekends & some work had been done. Paint touch up & last batch of carpentry completed. Glass/mirror installation will marks the end .. hopefully Wow Grace, tat's great your paintings done. Your reno progress is going on well. You've got nice fans too .. looks powerful & appealing .. esp the blossom design It's gonna be a fruitful day for you
  11. hello .. yes TGIF, KSJL .. & everyone!!! If there's something I wish for, I wanna go home & Still so many things undone & last lot of carpentry will be on tentatively next week
  12. Cosmic_ex: haha we'r on the same facing .. maybe can *wave* to each other next time Yes, it's quite bad & I hope something can be done to improve. Surely adding windows will change outlook of the external facade. Wonder if they would permit us.
  13. Grace: tat one not Alibaba sign .. it's paint mark on your door. Have you tried getting BSC to varnish your main door? See if you can list as defect & report to them. I saw someone painted their gate, but not door yet. KSJL: Yes, I encountered the same as you. When my yard door open, the wind gush through the house. Bloody windy at times & I'd see my ceiling fan rotating by itself. Now, I'm concerned if my hanging pendants will swing & become frenzy. I've friends complained their hair went out of shape after visiting my plc .. as if they've been taken for a ride I think my situation is not any better cos I nid windows to shield the rain
  14. Grace: u're lucky gal .. the white paint is very useful. Good for removing the Alibaba sign. I got it removed by BSC .. so hopefully Mr. Alibaba dun come again KSJL: oops .. hehe my bad I didn't customise cushion for the bay windows. I gotta few from Robinson last time so it's just nice for the bay. Sometimes I stand on the bay window to eat wind ... just hope no birds attack I need to shelter up my yard area cos rain may flood my corner, no choice *sigh* I've yet to brainstorm on tat issue, but the recent storm is really terrible. If you prefer privacy, doing roller blind at the yard will be good. Or, vertical blinds? They are also quite easy & versatile, can be drawn neatly back to the side, or the louvres can be rotated to an angle tat allows the right amount of light into the area & maintain an element of privacy.
  15. Cosmic_ex: Hey, great to hear from you Yes, the bay windows are nice but u're rite. I do share the same sentiment on the MBR layout. It's really a teaser. After much brain-wrecking with some miserable alternatives, still succumbed to "THAT" position for good LOL .. oh well, I gave up. Did you manage to workaround yours? Please share if you do Joseeng: I used Nippon Medifresh & Odourless, but I've my own painter instead. There's so many nice colors I like .. wowowo .. but not gutsy enough to use them Grace: I'm from 1E. Yes, HO gonna be soon .. expecting lotsa washing & cleaning this May Day It's gonna be exciting when the colors are up. Then followed by lightings .. u'll have a better gauge of your home in the nite .. tat pretty marvellous KSJL: Thanks, you must be dancing & dining all days at your lovenest yah. Totally immersed in the happiness of your new home Aiyo, I've left out of my mind cos busy drooling over other neighbors' lovely nest at their blogs Reuben82: Congrats to your new home & enjoy your ID sourcing process
  16. KSJL: Yes, the wardrobes were done. Your opennet are well done, short & neat indeed Joseeng: HO date unknown yet but Edmund asked me to get the parquet varnished ard 23 April will be good. So I guess, it's almost time. Carpentry pending the altar table, glasses & lights installation plus washing up How's your progress? Have you chosen all the materials? Grace: Achromatic palette can be very charming, very classic, cool & peaceful design. Wow, I'll wanna see your transformation
  17. Hello everyone pretty busy tis weekend .. confirmed sofa, curtain & one final "light" for me. Still waiting for Edmund to come back with the altar table & glass panels Grace: your reno progress is getting more exciting .. there's so much to look forward!! keep the pics coming My workplc at Buona Vista .. I'm hoping the completion of circle line so it'll be more convenient in future. Most likely I'll commute by the circle line route & transfer to northeast line. KSJL: my kitchen had not complete .. still pending the glass backsplash. Oh .. I oso wanna see how it turns out Whilst waiting for BSC guys to repair the hollow parquest, I started cleaning the kitchen to past time. Got these two at $1.90 each .. joseeng: I gotta storage heater .. will post the pic later
  18. WOw .. grace & joseeng .. you guys will enjoy the close proximity between workplace & home after moving in Tat's great!!! Hehe .. i like bay windows too .. but HB like balcony Yah .. Edmund is very busy & I hope he dun get too stress up with our projects .. kekekke KSJL, I hope it's not the case but I suggest you give a check. If you've choked pipe then the rectification will be done on your neighbor downstair. The BSC guys came to hack the false ceiling & replace a portion of the pipe. Someone poured wet cement into the pipe probably for convenience sake. Dun mistaken it's not Edmund's worker. After the repair, they fix a new ceiling board & replastered it. It's a great mess but fortunately it's still within my reno period Look at mine:
  19. Grace: Mine is corner S1. Here's my floorplan: Let's hide the snake .. hehe. Haiz .. met Edmund & I'm expecting a few more weeks to HO .. still pending some carpentry work.
  20. Grace: According to my dad, feature wall at the bombshelter is up. Awaiting for the altar & glass panel. Some portion of the "snake" was concealed & HB intend do it for the other side. Ouch .. I've not gotta chance to visit my unit so no pics taken yet. Unfortunately tis week working full swing 14 hrs/day so really no time to see .. Frankly speaking .. it's really nice to hide the bombshelter door with the feature wall
  21. Bluewater & Grace: yap .. will discuss with Edmund when we meet again KSJL: Yes, JB City Sq. I saw a shop selling painting cum clock. They've a good varieties of home & living accessories. It's beside the Popular Bookshop.
  22. KSJL: You need to provide the power socket. Ask your electrician to pull another outlet in your MDF cabinet if you gonna terminate inside. The opennet guys dun do it. The power socket will be used by future setup box. So from the setup box, it'll output to your TV point, wireless router, wii station & any other appliances. Oh .. I should check my carpentry too cos I'm unaware of "open-mouth" edges
  23. wow nice transformation!! Very cool & relaxing. Encapsulates the feeling of light, nature and wide open spaces .. your home looks great!!
  24. Grace: thanks for the pics .. looks like we had quite similar route I saw the length indicated 14m. wosh!! Not sure if we gonna use it in future .. haiz! It's gonna be interesting during color & laminates selection .. hope it's not another brain-teasing moment. Dun be too stress .. okie KSJL: You can decide the placement of opennet terminal. The guys will advice to install near TV point but it's really up to your preference. Someone had it installed in the MDF cabinet which is nice & neat. omg .. wat happen to your cabinet? cheer up .. sure they can rectify for you.
  25. Bluewater: It's possible to conceal the trunking which someone did. His ID probably planned beforehand. The opennet guys will test the line after installation to confirm it's working fine. Still gotta sign a form. Aiyo .. if now tell Edmund to conceal for me .. think his face may turn green & look at the length he'll probably "Is it risky bor?" Ooops .. hehe, joking .. my bad. Today is grace's turn .. let's wait for her opennet review. KSJL, if you wish to do conceal just like Siron .. pls check with Edmund if he can cater the conceal portion for the contractors to lay the line.
