  1. Hi Andy, I want to install Windows grills for my 5-room HDB, do you do on-site quotation? My Windows comes in different sizes and shapes, so will be good if you can drop by to quote. Please PM me your contact. Thanks, Kenny
  2. I told them that my flat is new, and i'm the 1st owner, they can't expect me to pay the activation fee. HDB will need to bare the responsibility if our unit wasn't activated for whatever reason, since i'm not aware of anything until i moved in. Also, i can't use my SCV because of no signal, not as if i don't want to use it, therefore i should not be continuing paying the subscriptions... They should suspend your account, xlan also got them to do it. Happy new year to you and your family.
  3. No worry for now Simpleboi, is blowing NE wind cause NE monsoon. Next half year (suppose to be from April/May unless Climate changed... you know lah, global warming...) you will have to regularly clean/oil your mental parts.
  4. Finally, everything unpacked (actually is everything stuff into bomb shelter ) and ready for CNY! Hehehe... Also everything in place except: No TV Console! Gosh, no DVD to watch with my new entertainment system! No Internet! Blessing in disguise, no need to work during CNY. No Starhub Cable! After reasoning with the technical dept, they will activate for me FOC on next Wed! Will start to post some pictures on Monday when i got my internet connection. Now, get back to work, else i can't leave early to prepare my reunion dinner tonight. I called again, and they will refund me 2 weeks subscription (though i only make my call last friday). Also they will come and activate my SCV FOC! You should try calling them again. Happy Lunar New Year to EVERYONE! May the RAT year brings us health, wealth and happiness! May the RAT year bring smooth renovation for those who are renovating their home!
  5. Finally, just finish unpacking all stuff last night, and now going to get busy preparing reunion dinner for my family at my new place. PM me your contact, we could arrange sometime next week (weekday preferred) for you to come see see.
  6. We moved in. Now struggling to clean up and move our stuff from our previous rented place... tired like ****... But it's feel so good to sleep at our own house! Gosh, only happen to know that our block 27B SCV is not activated!!!! I called 1633 and they want to charge me $58+ for activation. I checked with the HDB service center (ground floor of 27B) and they told me they will need to wait for 80% of the units to move in before they activate our SCV for free... And if i want to activate now, i've got to pay Starhub $58+!! Gosh, we collected key since jun/jul 07, and they still expect everyone to move in before they activate the SCV. How can they make those who move in early suffer!?!?!? I shifted my cable TV from old place to here, and I can't watch SCV but continuing to pay monthly subscription... What the...
  7. Most system-3 compressor should fit into the window, else the aircon guys will need to use chain to pull it up from the ledge. Measure your window since you already gotten your key. And hope you have a smooth renovation. Happy Lunar New Year!
  8. Thanks xlan for volunteering to be my prime suspect, save the police effort on investigation too. Hahaha...
  9. Reminder for myself: House moving tips from Adelina Pang: Move-In Procedure for home: 1. Find a suitable auspicious day and time according to Tong Sheng (the Chinese Almanac); the selection of auspicious date should take into consideration of the birth data of the family members. Make sure no one clashes with that day of move-in. 2. Charcoal must be lit, burnt to red hot in an auspicious hour and be brought ALL the way from the front door to the kitchen (stove). The red charcoal represents a "Burning success", and leading "hung" (redness - which means extreme good luck) into the house. It is not black charcoal. 3. Before entering the house, say a prayer at the door and proclaim that you are the rightful owner of the house and claim for its ownership and possession and politely ask any 'uninvited guest' to leave (or perform religious ritual/rite according to your religious belief). 4.The husband enters the house first with cash filled pockets and important documents i.e. shares & marriage certificates.) Other adult family members follow with jewellery &cash. Children carry their school bag filled with books. 5. No one should be empty handed. Bring the 5 necessities for kitchen (cooking oil, salt, sauce, vinegar, rice) and some Chinese customs say bring brush and broom, bucket filled with water, pairs of chopstick or fork and spoon. 6. Open all the doors and windows and let the Chi flow through the house. Switch on the electricity, on the lights, fan/aircon, TV, sound system etc. Turn on the water tap and stove, let the water run and gas burned for a short moment – this is to signify the flow of energy/chi in the house. 7. Arrange the altar table (if any), offer prayers to the Deity for peace, harmony, health & prosperity. 8. If the furniture has not been place in, put them in now. 9. The bed-sheet should only be made at the moving in day. 10. Put red packets filled with money and sweets on tabletops - symbolises good fortune. 11. Cook the first meal at home. ONLY let FAMILY members eat the first meal. DO NOT share the first meal with anyone else or their WEALTH is believed to be shared by those at the table. 12. Once settled in, you may arrange for a house-warming buffet reception at a later date to augur in the good fortune. And some tips from my indian colleague: 1. Right foot first into the house, this will signifies doing "right" things. 2. Cook and eat 1st sweet dish (i can only think of sweet minus sour pork). Means sweet memories and happiness. If lazy to cook, just buy sweets and eat it when you enter the house. 3. Wear gold for wealth. I wonder if robbers will wait for me at my door step??? Hahaha...
  10. Glad that you fixed your cabinet woes.
  11. >And how to check to see if the basket can be attached to the door? Otherwise cant even do the pull-out thing.. Improvised, get 2 pieces of brackets from Song Cho and stick it with the rack and mount to the door. Ask the Song Cho sale person and he will be able to advice you. No, they can, even for chimney hood. Unless you told them to separate the left and right cabinets such that is not 1 whole piece, then probably they will be convinced not to charge you. But this might look ugly on your top cabinet as you can see the wall tiles expose behind the hood...
  12. IMO, bottom track is more robust, imagine the weight of a cooking oil, soy sauce, etc... Maybe bottom track does not need the allowance for side track mechanism, that is why these racks have a bigger width. Think applefreak got a small cabinet just like you, you might want to check with him/her. Mostly comes with double trays since it meant to fit into the bottom cabinet. There is single tray and usually use in larder (tall pull-out cabinet) or wider width cabinet for you to store bulky items (i.e. plates, cooking utensils). Of course if you like, you can have 2 single trays... Usually ID will add the width of the larder on top of the overall size that already included the larder, this will account for the missing center portion... e.g. Top = 10ft (including larder width) Bottom = 15ft (including larder width) Larder = 3ft Total = 10 + 15 + 3 = 28ft. Of course, some ID have a different formula, they might charge differently for larder...
  13. Cool! Good luck! For that small cabinet pull-out tray, you should try look for a bottom thread, the side thread mechanism is already quite thick which makes the rack even smaller...
  14. Plumber fixing toilet accessories tomorrow, and I still haven't got my sink mixer and mirrors (for toilet) yet! Gosh, got to rush to Lavendar again tomorrow morning... Found 2 dates that are suitable for moving in before CNY... 30th Jan and 5th Feb. Not sure if my home will be ready on the 30th Jan??? 5th Feb I'm on course, withdraw now will make my department pay US$550! Praying hard to move in on 30th... Oh, need to move my KING size bed before 30th Jan! Now my brain getting bigger...
  15. I went to lavendar this afternoon and pop into Songcho, but still couldn't find any 1 that is smaller enough to fit your cabinet... I will let you know if I ever came across 1... Btw, Greycat is paying for the quality as is a 316 SS. I suppose mine will change to Songcho in about a few years time... Hahaha
