Renovation is a very exciting process because it is the creation of your dream home. As things start to move along & slowly fall into place, now is also the time to consider what items to purchase for the new home, especially when it involves some big ticket items. We narrowed down to a list of the most important stuff for each space, also need to consider factors such as budget, size, etc. The rest of the other stuff can come later.

Hubby insisted that kitchen sink needs to have concrete support, & we chose a simple white tile for it, to match the rest of the kitchen: The gas piping is also constructed:

Finally decided on the tile that would most suit the place. A very light grey with concrete texture & they proceeded to lay them! The color seems darker in the 1st pic. It is actually truer to this color:

Our friend (who does commercial) will help us with our renovation. So first thing we did was to start with tile selection. We went to Hafary: Soon Bee Huat & Hup Keong & came back with these sample tiles: We are using the same tile throughout our home so we needed a color which was very light but yet easy to maintain.

This is the inspiration board I came up with for MBR. Fell in love with the pink + black color combi so decided to have MBR done in these 2 colors. I was very inspired by the black glass pane so I wanted to have a partition separating the bed from the wardrobe area. Wanted a squeeze out a mini WIW with the pole system since we can't afford any other space for a wardrobe, but looks to be not sufficient for our clothes. Hmm.. have to modify further...

Firstly , to make it easier, I think it is important to narrow down to some key points to consider, for eg, 1) who are the people living there? 2) how long are you going to live there? 3) what kind of feel do you want? Our main considerations: 1) Simple & comfy feel, with cute elements. 2) No floor – need to source for tiles in a very light shade of grey for entire house (for a bright airy feel). 3) No door – need to source 3 bedroom doors, 2 bathroom doors & 1 kitchen door. Living room: Color palette: mainly white + black. 1) shoe cabinet divider between entrance & dining area. 2) grey sofa, grey wall. 3) black TV, console, coffee table, ceiling fan. 4) round white dining table + 4 chairs. Kitchen: Color palette: white + black. 1) Full cabinets on 1 side. 2) Half-height cabinets on the other side with shelving for oven. 3) Concrete support for sink area. 4) White countertop. Master bedroom: Color palette: pink + black. 1) full height partition to separate bed from wardrobe. 2) pole system wardrobe to save space. 3) white dresser closets. 4) black bedframe. My toy room: Color palette: light pink + white. 1) PC desk. 2) add a window. 3) large display shelf. 4) bookshelves. Hubby’s game room: Color palette: light blue. 1) PC desk + work desk, 2) ceiling fan. 3) sofa bed.

Now that our home is finally here, we am feeling overwhelmed by all the possibilities and how we’d go about creating the perfect space. We do not have a specific theme, only that we want to keep it simple & comfy. Here are some pics I found inspiring:
