I am thinking of hacking my bedroom wall so as to join up 2 room into 1. can someone please advise the estimated cost for hacking a wall, dismantle a door and to do up a false wall to seal up the door opening. Can all this be done for $1k?

Thanks for the compliment. I totally agree with you, initially wanted to change the red to white when we saw it. But contractor say if change have to tear down the whole console and re-do which will cost additional $$$ so no choice have to stick with it for now.

just some updates on my home reno, its already 90% to completion. my thoughts on the whole reno are agony, excited, disappointment and of course happy/surprise. Agony - when things not done the way i wanted Excited - when something new is being done, excited to see the end result Disappointment - Things don't turn out nicely the way i thought it will be Happy/surprise - True out better than i thought I believe most of you here will feel the same or somehow i feel more disapointed than excited...most of the time the things don;t turn out the way i want..sigh My Kitchen Cabinet - I felt that it is too Red, darken the whole place My Study Room - i personally likes the wall gives a very soothing feeling Guest Room - Color doesn't turn out nicely but still ok My contractor will be return the keys to us next sat, we will be targetting to move in on the 16 of dec. hopefully everything turns out well. more pics...please bear with me My dinning Area - a little messy as they are doing the full mirror today, luckily it turn out nicely. Bomb Shelter - A Simple cover up Roller Blind - For the living room, the rest of the 3 rooms will have the same one except it is thicker The Day Bed i will be getting from Ikea for the guest room and of course not forgetting to get one for myself... TV Console - Disappointed, does not turn out well

Seems like you are having lots of funs moving into your new place. the sad thing is the dust part, definitely have lots of cleaning to do. just curious why is the scv and internet taking so long to get in place? Can we just pluck in and use it or do we have to wait for starhub to come over to do the line? I am using Coos as my contractor. Personally i felt that the contractor we are using is quite a nice guy. He is pretty accomodating and patient to our needs. As for his workmanship, my home reno is still on going, but till now i am pretty satisfy with his work. No complaints. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

oh my god...sounds like your ID is really very bad and irresponsible. If i am the one i would have flare up no give face one who ask him do such a sloppish job.... I will suggest that before you move in must ask him to get all those defects touch up. i will think you should hold back the last payment to him untill he gets all the stuffs nicely done up.
