Hi another thing want to share with you. My neighbour told me they saw the tilers actually use a small machine to grind the line ot the granite. I asked my neighbours do they really use it?? I even told my neighbours that granite tiles dont need to grind or polish at all! That is really funny. Yesterday I met another id. Asked him the granite. She told me 1 thing which I want to share to you. Why some granite so check $2+ , and way to $50+. One reason is that the suppliers choose and pick. (means granite are in good condition), and the rest not so good (also in good condition but only certain areas are chipped). That is why the rejected granited by suppliers are sell to customers at a low price. The id told me not to take those $2 or $3+ as it might be rough at the edge. That is why tilers need to grind it. I dont know whether it is true of not. Yesterday say one granite very beautiful; Ceasper white ($6+), I intend to choose that but need to recalcuate again.

Hi ALI50N Thanks. Last night, just compile the total cost of each contractors they quote to me. Today, going to read thru each carefully (those shortlisted) and later call them for the things I want and for second quotation.

Hi BUI Mine is almost the same as yours except I dont want any features at all. Just floor, kitchen cabinet (a must) and wardrobe and grils wiring and lights and fans. The rest, just buy from imm or any furniture shops

You know why so fast? So that they can bring pple to view the showflat and let them do. But then too fast also no good. Afraid they might anyhow do. That is why one contractor push me to sign on the paper and push me to go down to select tiles. I rejected everything from them.

Hi Mr Chong, My mum kitchen is actually the same as Xlan. (@ jalan membina). We intend to use layout A (due to space). But my mum wanted is whether the washing machine can be put inside the tiolet (beside the tiolet wall)?? So that kitchen area will have more free space. Please advise and many thanks!! HAPPY

Me too. The first one quoted me very high. And I move on and on and on until I notice the range. ONly then you will know who charge more. As you move along, you will tends to learn more (by asking them questions), and tends to make changes as you go along. So far, only 5 give me quotation, the rest seem like missing in action!

Conman is one thing. Another type I encounter is those using pressure tactics to ask you to sign. That is worst.

hahahaha... Actually my neighour already feel sian and disappoiintmented with contractor. They started work at 8th Aug 07. Yesterday, give 1st payment and my nieghbour wanted to cancel certain items. But was told that is it a package. Can refund $1K. So rugi $450++. This kind of contractor! I have already cancel off their service as I still have not sign. And they actually wanted me to go down and show me the materials they going to built for my kitchen cabinet and granite tiles. They just want to seal the contract asap.

Hi Xlan I also not sure. I heard it from my neighbours as they already in progress @ blk 25a. They told me only 4 months when they collect the key. So for balleting, can take their own time to choose, no hurry.

I have sign the quotation with one contractor telling me it is ok if I cancel it. I felt very uneasy and this afternoon, send a mail informing them I cancel and dont want their service anymore.

If you get your key, then you will have 4 months to source for contractors, reno works takes up about 6 to 8 weeks...hope you have time. For me, I have already talk to few ids and even have quotations. Just to compare around and by talking to ids...we tend to learn bit by bit..... Break in? Ok will read now... So far have 1 or 2 shortlist. PM me if you want the id name.
