i don't believe it :wub: how can the painter choose colour for you???? it's definitely not acceptable guess there's nothing much you can do except hold the remaining 5% and demand that everything be rectified to your satisfaction before paying them :notti: yes, and i am getting so sick of waiting and waiting. today they came to rectify my larder but guess what? they installed the pull out baskets for me and it cannot pull out properly BECAUSE the larder itself is too small! Lets see what will they do.... sigh. Also, the painter is not coming back anymore. He left all the extra paint in a small container for us.... to diy.

Thanks, my id never give me a completion date. What should i do? we have been waiting waiting and waiting and everytime i call to ask, he will give me a non-specific date for the various works. For example, our kitchen cabinet needs some changes but its been 2 weeks and all my id can say when i call him is.... we try la, by next week. And when i ask, when can mirror be up? He will say oh, wait for the carpentry wood backing to be settled first then i can advise. I am really very sad that they dont seem very professional abt completion of the reno. Their cabinet workmanship also very lousy with a rather big gap between laminates corner. The painter who my id appointed came also not professional. Did not touch up those with huge holes at the switch socket etc. In the end, we bought the putty, fill up the holes and paint ourself. Its like 20 over holes and since we are not experts, we took a long time to do it. A bangladesh painter also came and he did not do a good job in painting and scraping off uneven surface. More importantly, we chose color for main door and grilles but in the end, color painted is different. when i ask my id, he say, oh, the painter felt that the color the painter chose is nicer so he just took his own initiative and paint for me leh. Is this acceptable? I dont like the color he chose anyway. Help! I've paid my id 95% already. What should i do now???

Hi applefreak... i am very very busy. i have shifted into my new place and doing renovation at the same time. my id is giving me headache daily. his contractors r really terrible! they have no time sense, appt between 1 to 4, they arrive at 7. it is not only on 1 occasion. Many times like tat already. worse of all, ask them call 1 hr b4 coming, they cant seem to do tat? contractors do things slipshod! leave things done halfway, put their barang barang (which can fill 1/2 of my balcony) which they promise to remove it the very next day at 9am, but guess what, always nobody turn up to remove. we have to call id who always dont answer call n dont return miss call. in the end, they clear their barang barang 2 days later after we threaten to throw them at the corridor! Worse of all is.... their contractors always fly kite! promise to come but never turn up! id never bother to call us. we have to call him n ask wat time contractor coming and in the end, his reply would be, oh its raining so they cannot come. when i request for them to come the next day, he would say, oh their timing already fixed for the next few days so can reschedule sometime later only. wat is this man? Result------ now, i am staying here and reno is half done! sigh. i am going to put up pictures now... n tell me what should i do? the contractors who did the laminate platform scratched the winnie the pooh wall covering !

Did you engage painting services? From where? how much does it cost to paint whole house? 4 colors + 1 white? how about if i wish to paint another color for celing instead of white? my id quoted me $1350 for 4 color plus 1 additional color (nt white) for ceiling.

Help! We were are in urgent need of contractor to help us in fabricating and installing kitchen cabinets, feature wall, partition wall etc... Anyone noes of a reliable contractor? pls provide contact no? Preferably direct contact with contractor and no via 3rd party.... like Id etc. We originally engaged the help of an Id but got played out... now we need the carpentry to be done urgently.

oh hi neighbour and how do u do! Ru my SK or Anchorvale neighbour? These delays can be avoided if things are done in the right manner and order. Cant be asking a plumber to do up my L-box n electric works and be asking a tiler to do my window grilles right. Somemore, in another 2 weeks time, i'll be homeless if my new place is not ready

If We are not in rush to move into the new place, then its ok even if they made lots of mistake and at the end of it all, rectify them. Today was worse, my Id stupidly shifted blame on the Hdb contractors, which it is impossible when its clearly the Id's fault. Sigh. And the worse part is .... the part they hack, if they dont lay the tiles back on time, my hdb contractor cannot proceed. now, they are all waiting for my id to troubleshoot, rectify and then lay back the tiles so they can complete the kitchen floor tiles.... this is the last part liao. my id keep delaying and today one after another guy which they sent to my place, all useless leh. first guy came up, never hack deep enuff and left. the 2nd guy came 7 hours later n then say since the 1st guy din hack deep enuf, he cant troubleshoot. so now wait for the 1st guy to come but then id say too late liao... wait til monday and see how again... very poor coordination! i am still waiting for my revised 3D max drawing (kitchen). Its been 2 weeks and they are taking their own sweet time to revise it. All these while, if i never call to ask for the 3d max, my id never bother to send it to me. Started from a month ago when the 1st drawing came out. Is it an EA too? How much did u pay for it? Well, the green border for kitchen is not costly at all. there are many nicer ones too..... take ur time. narrowed down any id liao?

Feel so sad today Our tiles lay so nicely liao but got a very disappointing call my Id saying there a problem with the Electrical Wiring which their guy cut last week. Cut wrongly result in MBR cannot receive electricity. Now, the wiring all concealed under the floor tiles n now must hack some tiles again to troubleshoot. Anyone had such problem b4? Is this a common fault? I just feel so heartache..... Tiles lay so nicely liao. The guy who cut the wires, does he need to be a qualified electrician? Don't they test b4 they cut and also test again after they cut?

Did u choose the big or small mosaic? We chose both.... so our 'L' vertical will be using the big mosaic and the horizontal is small mosaic. How much did they quote u for this mosaic? Did u get it fm Hafary? Is ur a brand new flat or resale? Are u laying tiles for the entire hse? What else have u chosen?

hello happybride, Yes we hacked all our tiles and relay them. Very happy we have this opportunity as we found so many defects in the new place, hence requested HDB to hack and relay tiles of our choice I like the green border in the kitchen.... they are glass tiles with round popping out pattern. Where is your new place? what are ur plans?

This is how my kitchen looks fm the living room after it has been hacked. Service Balcony Door & Windows which I will be removing Building kitchen wall tiles & The service balcony door n windows have been removed Main Balcony in living room which will be removed too Laying the Living room floor tiles. We chose 60x60 homogeneous Non Stain which is slightly more expensive but its worth the investment with so many kids in the home... This is how the original common toilet looks like New tiles for common toilet... Incomplete in the picture but it was taken few days ago. Original MBR Toilet Did not manage get to take pix yesterday as the floor tiles has just been laid so i wasnt able to walk to MBR. But this pix was taken few days ago... will be using this. I'll be going to my new place in the afternoon.... hope can take more pix

Yes, i just learnt how to post picture here. wasn't quite successful earlier on, tat y delay... The black rose is $4 psf and I am only doing 1 column of it so it wont be very costly. Too much of it, i might become groggy while bathing. kekeke The red rose @ $18 each is the most expensive tile i chose. Mosaic is 2nd most expensive @ $16 each. Have calculated, for the 'L' border, at most, i only need 4 sheets of the mosaic.... so not tt bad.

Hi everyone, Let's recall, I posted my unhappiness about the Terrible EA in Anchorvale soon after i collected my keys as the house was in terrible condition. It was on 5th Oct when i collected my keys. They hacked my floor and wall tiles last week. 4 days ago, on 29th October Monday, this was the first day hdb contractor started to lay tiles. Today is the 4th day and the entire hse is almost complete. only left the kitchen and 2 toilet floor tiles. After that, my id will take over. I am praying that my id will do a good job. Its a long story, but to cut it short, my id is from 3D and the one who is suppose to handle my project, has passed it onto another guy. So, now we are dealing with the 'new' id. honestly speaking, they mishandled some stuff and we did not have a good time.... bla bla bla. Anyway, welcome all of you here to post ur views... Theme of our new home is modern contemporary. I have selected some tiles... This is red glass mosaic which will be the 'L' divider between my kitchen floor and living hall. Hi, i had crack on floor n wall tiles. you have to inspect very carefully as some may not be too obvious. I did not have hollow tiles though. rusty window rivets. huge internal and external cracks. the cracks on the floor were so bad until water from my floor can seep down and drip into the unit below mine. Stained tiles. do a thorough check and note down every single detail, even how minor it maybe. hdb contractor is laying new tiles for me and they are efficient. they started 4 days ago, on monday. today, they have almost completed the entire house. left with the kitchen n 2 toilet floorings.
