Recommend you to talk to your ID before your purchase. Don't make rash decision and in the end cannot use. Even if the cabinet is 50% off because of sale wouldn't be a prudent move.
  6. Bro let me know if you sold your doors because I had a difficult time selling them.
  7. We also didn't had a fix theme like scandi, industrial, it is okay as well. Just discuss with your ID a rough idea and they can propose to you. Have a good discussion between the both of you to come to an alignment what do you both want. For example, during our reno discussion, there is an item which is not in the quote and we wanted it, you can just ask them to add and do it for you. No harm to add or remove during the progress. Start with the floor plan and where is important to the both of you, for example, the toilet, the MBR...etc...and slowly work your way and eventually you have a 'theme' of your own. like us, we are Themeless... Enjoy!
  8. Just see through most of the post again, and what happened? My finger automatically went to click check out from Amazon again.... will update when items arrive in April. Kim76 very solid information on Amazon purchase. Guru! Went to purchase a kettle, it says Induction ready. Let's see. I need some time to digest your 3M filter.
  9. Kim76, those bounce are in my cart as well. Holding back until we have out washing machine in place first. Going to look through all the items you purchase on Amazon, your thread help me in many ways to save $$ by purchasing from Amazon.
  10. Your contractor doing this is very neat i like how the way they touch up after the job is done. Very good!
  11. Yamato, can show us some pictures of the fan? Crestar seems to be well recommended in this forum as well. Think KDK is still the better brands.
  12. Wow! Very good idea, thanks for sharing i like the idea of painting over the masking tape to have the pattern. Well done!
  13. Very nice! i enjoy all the pictures! Certainly one of the better toilets i have seen and well done. Thanks for sharing!!
  14. Let us know your purchases Faranggirl!
  15. Kim76, this is the induction i'll be using. Crossing my fingers that it will work on the lodge griddles if not there are 'pan with grills' in it which will work as well. I like how the new induction works now that there is no circular prints around to state where the pots should be place. Now anywhere along the induction will work. I was contemplating between de-dietrich and the new fisher, in the end since i'm using all fisher appliances, i thought it would save a lot of trouble of not having to deal with 2 different suppliers. I may be wrong though in the long run. While waiting for HDB approval on hacking another wall, i'm thinking if i should get a small gas burner to go with the induction.
  16. Like in my Tblog, i will share only after my renovation is done, which is mid way.
  17. There is no need to take it personally Haris, i understand your happiness of getting a cheap quote during your ID hunts and want to share with the world the good news. Things aside, as long as you think it is cheap, and it has save you time and effort to look high and low for an ID it is all well taken into as a factor of choice. I think what people would like to see is the workmanship of the reno done so there is a reference point. I was curious about this too and would love to see the outcome of your beautiful home, but to my dismay there are only a few pictures and it doesn't do justice to your recommendation. We all certainly appreciate your kindness to share and this is what the forum is all about. I wish i'm a contractor, Haris. Simply put, as long as you are happy with the price, in the long run, to me, it doesn't matter to pay a little more. It's unlike our cabinets are 100ft long causing a huge difference. Price does not affect me as the top 3-5 elements in consideration, so i will stop bickering about cheap/expensive, pfr, etc, and take a step back. You are free to visit my T-blog in my signature as it is in the middle of renovation but we made a decision halfway through which delayed the work a little. i'm not the right person to talk about price.
  18. Haris tell me that i calculate wrongly http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/70410-very-affordable-contractor/#entry890745 your per foot run is about $178?
  19. Haris like on my previous post, please share your reno pic. And i also realize that your kitchen carpentry isn't cheap.
  20. Haris, maybe i'm not looking at the correct place, there are only 6 pictures of your reno? Kitchen carpentry $2500 for 14ft? that is 178$ per foot run, way too much. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/70410-very-affordable-contractor/#entry890745
  21. Just finish our meeting with ID again to re choose colours for laminate and painting. Appreciate our id for having patience when we keep choosing the colours and on the spot change the drawing colour to see if it is okay. Finally chose snow flake white from the sea of white and dreamland for our walls. Thought choosing white will be easy.
