    But in terms of layout, it is very similar to our 2-room layout. Just more extras, like cabinets, cooker, taps, grilles hand bars, and a much shorter lease. But stripped bare, it is exactly the same, structurally.

    I've got a silly question, what is the distance between the chest of drawers and the mirror cabinet I your WIW? Do you think it is too narrow to walk through? I am thinking of fitting an island (okay more like a peninsular) in my tiny kitchen, and I wondered how wide a distance should I have between wall and cabinet,

    When I was in the UK, my landlord had installed the heat/smoke detector right above, so everytime I cooked something 'steamy', it activated the alarm. But I always intended to install a smoke detector, and if I use a gas heater, I might also include a carbon monoxide detector. I am super kiasu lor.

    But I always thought the studio is very similar, if not exactly the same as the 39 sqm units? Even the showflat in HDB, they put the studio layout as the one for the smaller 2-room layout. But the problem here is studio only have like 20 year lease? I dunno. As long as they give more chance for the singles, I dun care too much.

    I am going to have it, not because I invite guests over, but just go maximise space usage. I'd like to have the option to be able to work on stuff in my room. Other than the bomb shelter cum study room.

    I always liked the Murphy bed idea, especially the type that is called Hiddenbed, go and look for it online. That is always in my design for my room. I have a crazy idea to do a moving wall, with a hiddenbed on it. Did a youtube mock up, but this place doesn't seem to let me paste the link....

    So, order of renovation: set up electrical points (basic ones) wet works / hacking and screed tiling painting Chemical cleaning (?) carpentry detailed electrical points?I am trying to visualise the flowpath, on what is the priority of works.
