  1. Hi near neighbour! I'm on the EastLace side, Depends on what you want to do for your place, I guess. I am hoping to do everything in 20k, including white goods..
  2. Welcome, near-neighbour! I am in Eastlace, a bit and a block away from yours. Hoping to get my keys by the end of this year, even though our estimated completion is Q2 2017.
  3. Thanks for the info. Too bad I can't get it now. No place to put.
  4. I so wanted to go, but I can't... You peeps have fun and take loads of photos! If possible, can take loads of photos of the toilet? Layout wise, this is the one most difficult to visualise. I need as many photos as possible, in all angles, front, back, sideways... every way! I'd be following all the progress with excitement and envy!
  5. I like the big bathroom actually, but I don't like the design of the bathroom in my project, where the two doors are directly opposite each other. With the doors directly opposite each other, it is very difficult to carve a little corner for the shower cubicle.. And it would be ridiculous to do what the HDB intends us to do, to put the shower cubicle in the middle of the bathroom, or jus have a shower in the middle, and wet everything along the way.
  6. I'm hoping to use this swing out table design for my kitchen, to increase the counter space. I've seen the mechanism in the Hafele showroom, but it is very expensive. Thinking of engineering it myself.
  7. Exactly. I had done a few 3D models on different programmes, but I just don't think it gives me the same kind of impression as the actual units. I had gone to the one at the HDB hub a few times, to mull over the space, and tried to imagine how that will apply to my layout. 'updated; 2 room there is actually quite similar to the layout I've got. But I am worried that the 'actual' units will still differ.
  8. I also chose a high floor unit, but not exactly corner, because all the high floor corner units were all taken. My ballot number was 11X, which is already very good. I had the choice of a low unit (2-4 floor) corner, or a top floor next to corner unit. I chose the top floor one.
  9. I would love to visit, but can or not? I don't want to impose I think a good idea would be to use tape, to demarcate where you want the day bed, how much space the mattress and other stuff will take up Then you walk around and see if that space is acceptable to you? Sometimes, it might be a bit difficult to visualise something, even on a 3D drawing? I have! this is what I would like to do in my room, ideally!
  10. Is your kitty better now? Well, there is a good and bad thing about having oversized furniture in our tiny nests lor. Sigh, I was hoping to get more 'experience' from you, our quick hand quick leg 2roomer. Not like we got a lot of other references lor. If I didn't remember wrongly, MsBunny's unit shaped very different from the conventional 2-room layout. So I was hoping to get more photos from you, mmoh.
  11. I have been waiting to have my own home since the first time I worked overseas, 9 years ago! Waited till I am 35. Always meant to buy my own place. Just happened, the time when HDB relaxed the rules was after my 35th birthday. So I had been balloting since the applications opened for singles. And I balloted like 10-11 times, then finally I got a good number. So I already lost track of how long I have been longing for the moment, I can step into a place, and call it my own. I certainly hope so too. I kept reading those 4-roomers and 5-roomers complaining about how small their place is, and I want to laugh. About time we 2-roomers show them, what 'small space' really is. hahahaha..
  12. I think the ID/contractor selection is probably going to be the most tiring part of the whole reno journey.. I am not looking forward to that. Other than the waiting part, of course. keep thinking how slow everything is. then I look back, and realised, it is more than a year since that day selected my unit. Time passed it a very strange manner. Still. I am cheering for my flat to build faster..
  13. OMG!! SO excited for you!! Photos! We want loads and loads of photos!!
  14. It's pretty awesome that we have so many 2-roomers here, but by the way those 2-rooms are always oversubscribed 10x times, I'd have thought there should be a lot more of us hanging about. I haven't been here awhile (work and stuff). I went past my project last sunday, and had a really good walk around the place. progress still very slow, but at least now I can see the floors going up. Hopefully, by this time next year, I will be waiting for my keys collection.
  15. I keep going past my site, wishing for it t build faster leh... can't wait to move out. My place is near the further Canberra MRT, it'll actually be easier for me to get to work. I also no update. Up till now still building floors. Mine is on top floor. *cries*
  16. P trap means the outlet is on the wall, and s trap means outlet on the floor (I never really realised there is a difference), but some renotalker had convert this s trap to the p trap Where the hole goes into the ground, you can't change. Because that will affect the waterproofing of the toilet floor. You can change the toilet bowl from one stuck on the ground to those 'suspended' ones, but you cannot change the position where it is.
  17. Sigh, ours were balloted at the same time, but why my site so slow..
  18. Mine is EastLace, the plot of land closest to the MRT. I live in yishun and will take train past it when I can. Have been cheering for it to build faster, but it is still at level 4 last week. PCD is Q2 2017 too. Mine also highest at 11th floor.
  19. Mine is also in Canberra, and it's supposed to be ready by Q2 2017, and they are still at level 4. how come yours is faster?? The rotating table is what I wanted to do for my kitchen, to maximise the counter space. As for the sliding table, I think, mechanically, this will be a bit impractical.. Also, who have so much space to slide the table sideways?
  20. I dunno. Maybe the full cabinet makes it look lower?
  21. I don't intend to put in grilles too. They are ugly! but I will need to mesh up the windows, if I want to adopt a cat from the CWS (Cat welfare Society) Thinking of putting those dark, magnetic mesh, But with a little bit of reinforcement, if necessary, if the mesh detach too easily., I think the hiddenbed company always goes for the Expo exhibition, you can go and look at their samples there. But apparently, there are a few companies with the same concept. There's one called HiddenWallBed (HWB), which is what the youtube video mmoh posted is from. Then there is Hiddenbed, that's the type I want. the HWB kind doesn't have a table up when the bed is pushed up. And you have to adjust the little legs on the bed before you pull it down, If those legs failed to turn out onto the ground, the bed can't stand. And the thing I least like about that design, is that bed will be lower to the ground. I think for HiddenBed, you can custome how many row of cabinet and so it'll fit to the wall. Then just bolt the whole thing to the wall. Beauty World Plaza, is that the one in Bukit Timah?
  22. The toilet window is the old fashioned slats kind. I wonder, with the bombshelter door in the kitchen, will it make the kitchen even smaller?
  23. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom. But I tend to love them a lot more when I am working overseas, in the UK and the US. Where they cannot budge into my room whenever they feel like
