your Id guy is more of a contractor than a designer. Better use a proffesional ID . The proper sequencs is 1. Concept Design 2. Design presentaion with sample board, plans and 3d 3. Detail Dwgs. 4. Completion. 5. Rectification of Defects. Hope this helps.

i find Heyifound website is very HDB and affordable... appeals to heartlanders .......Livingpod is more upmarket and has great photographs of latest interiors for inspiration.

Whats good about LivingPod.com is that it get updated very regularly with new design trends in Singapore. I dont have to buy Home and Decor magazines anymore. i just subscribe to the site free of charge.

One way of lighting up is to, built your bar counter in glass and backlight. You need a good designer or an examlpe of such a counter to show to your contractor. You should not be shining the light on to your counter but the counter itself should be alight source.

to get authentic peranakan look can be expensive. if cost is not an issue you should consult a designer who has actually done up a similiar peranakan place. Normally specialist designers with this credentials are expensive. if cost is an issue , you should try and do a modern peranakan design. basically it means having a modern shell in the interiors and furnish it with peranakan furniture. i have seen in some design like this in some websites... they look good. Hope this helps.
