Hi, I haven't start reno, so can't help you. My ID charged a lump sum for kitchen cabinet, and we didn't negotiate with him how many ft in total, just see the drawings got top and bottom looked ok, so we didn't ask. Maybe we too "relax" with my ID liao.

I'm getting sliding door too. One ID said, just fix a door stopper (a round rubber thing) on the floor to stop the main door before it hits the glass door Quoted about $1100 for sliding door + a fixed panel. Swing door + fixed panel about $700.

Laundry racks! the push out to window one looks good. Those who have engaged ID/contractor, are you keeping the the retractable laundry rack installed by HDB? Is it possible to re-locate it to the wall just above the kitchen window? Can help ask your ID/contr? I've not engaged an ID, but during a visit at the showflat, one contractor told me it's not possible, cuz the rack may be damaged after dismantling.

The trolley is quite a good idea, can build cabinet below the table top too. I saw this design in Earnest Inter. showroom. But the rollers leave a long mark on the floor leh... And add more cost to custom make this thing.

Can understand why your friend followed the FSM's advice. We should be prepared to change if we decided to see FS. Otherwise better don't see... Don't know anything and don't do anything about it, is better than knowing it yet not doing something about it. But a good FSM should be able to give good solutions yet the house still looks nice. FSM chargers range from $300 - $1000. Those charge higher are those with advertisements lor, and look into very detail one. I think I'll just go for basic consultation. Anyone planning for a bar counter or breakfast counter at this foyer area? I need ideas...

Xlan, the shelves are plastic? Then, it's good for those who store little things. At $29, it's not cheap if to have 3-4 of this. I still prefer the heavy duty metal racks, more lasting and sturdy. Someone tried to collate response sometime ago, but since installation have to be same day, like that quite difficult to organize a BP now. If there's a fixed date for installation and layout with price info and target qty to meet the BP discount price, then easier to collate response. We could try again when most of us start to reno our flats. But I hope to get at least 15-20% off, otherwise, not worth the effort and 便宜了 supplier.

Thanks MaCe. Does FSM charges more consultation fee if I show him my ID's 3D drawing? Hubby wants to see FSM without the 3D drawings, as he's afraid FSM might "object" to certain design/features/position. What's the standard package for FS consultation?

I need some advice... 1) Should we consult FS master while at the new flat, with ID 3D drawings to show layout and design OR without the drawings? Which is more worthwhile? 2) How do they charge consultation fee? More ex with 3D drawings?
