  1. Spic and span. Admirably nice. Hope the furniture will do this infrastructure justice! Looking fwd.
  2. Sorry to say, your strategy to select designers was based too much on personal assumption and that is really not a very wise approach. OK with dunking rude and sarcastic designers or those who do not have the basic professionalism and responsibility to respond punctually. But to put a potential designer off because of age or whether driving or not was a little immature. Aesthetics is not compounded by age, whether one has a car or can speak proper English. You have to really see how the person describe his or her portfolio or if you are the first portfolio, what are the concepts and enhancements he or she can bring up to your home. Looking at your final design, much clean and nice to look at (ok after spending that much money, it better be nice to look at), it is really nothing spectacular and compose of a bit of this and that in the overall appeal. If you look carefully, the anchoring thing in this "design" is the use of alternative colours and basically that's it. The rest is similar to those ID package catalogue showrooms that you see. And lights within wooden beams? They totally deconstruction the solidity of using wood structures on ceilings. I hope it's not the designer's idea. I may sound rude here but I hope can bring about some consideration for future peep when selecting a designer. Spending a good amount of money on the home is one thing, but selecting a designer base on good strategies is fundamental.
  3. Yes I would like to ask about the weight part.
  4. This design looks similar to IKEA cabinets. Why not consider IKEA, cheaper and less hassle also.
  5. how many socket points are u looking at in total?
  6. If you go for Malay style deco, these furniture looks fantastic and compatible.
  7. Having said that, the design is very exquisite. you have the right walls bricked and the correct walls coloured. there is good thought placed on the furnishing, especially attractive door and window frames, as well as the panel. The word is eloquent. Congrats on a beautiful home.
  8. Congrats on your home design. Very likeable. And I think one of the very very fews I would like to "copy". lol
  9. Your bed facing door in your master bedroom layout - big big BIG BIG no no in fengshui.
  10. But does your ID still charge you for the tiles and manpower after a boo boo job, and charge you for black paint?
  11. Actually depending on what you buy. I bought my custom made teak furniture from Semarang/Yogjakarta and shipped over in a container. It's still 50% of the price from Scanteak. However, some may not warrant the effort because the price diff is minimal. Unless of course, you die die love the design.
  12. Usually painting is hardest at the lining. So watch out for it.
  13. A bit overkill with the cargo box-textured kitchen cabinet when whole cabinet looks like rough wood, it can be very purplexing and make sure you hide all the cutleries, crocheries and utensils. Such textured designs look nice without any add ons. the only u display other stuff, it breaks their uniformity and look very messy. Also, use the wrong colour plates or saucers or vase, the whole picture can be very eye-sore. Also bathroom cabinet doesn't go well with the sink at all. Consider replacing either.
  14. Good taste for taps. Ceiling fan doesn't compliment your design and the wardrobe looks very ikea. Hope your colour scheme turns out well.
  15. what a shame, you have a very very nice floor plan but with the looks of it, it's looking more like a typical ID package, making your awesome place look HDBish. did you go with "package" deals? hope no "feature wall" or fibreglass fountains etc coming up.
