mine is 4.5 inche +- a bit. should be about the same for u. by right u should measure from the centre of the wc hole to the wall, but that's provided u dismantle the wc first. however you can do a quick n simple check. there are pipes in the box-up area above the wc area. use a measuring tape and measure the distance from the centre of the pipe to the wall. this is roughly the wc s-trap distance.

me no HDB rules expert. just that i was also in a unique situation before (though not the same as yours) and had to have many dealings with them. so read up a lot on these HDB rulings. since you have include your MIL as an occupier to qualify for the married child priority scheme which indirectly gave u a higher chance of getting the new flat, HDB is not likely to allow your MIL to be remove as an occupier.
-
hhmm... your situation is a bit tricky here. pardon to ask, why did you include your MIL as an occupier in the first place? was it to qualify for some scheme? or were your bf and MIL the original owners and you were added in later? if it is the former, i guess you have to prove that you did not gain any unfair advantages in doing so. if it is the later, then more tricky as HDB rule states that the original owner i.e. your MIL cannot be remove from the list. as linggie has stated, HDB is quite strict on this.
-
Hi, Do not quite understand your situation. Maybe you would like to elaborate more. 1) Are you married? Bcos you mentioned your bf and MIL, so I'm a bit confused. Assuming you and your bf are not married yet.... 2) Who are the owner of the flat? Your bf and MIL? And what you are trying to achieve is... 3) Your MIL wants to remove her name as one of the occupier? If you and your bf are not married, and the current owners are your bf and MIL, then HDB will not allow your MIL to be removed as an occupier/owner bcos HDB will not allow single to own a new HDB flat. The only solution then would be to get married, add your name, then remove your MIL name.

just came back from our 3 weeks honeymoon. after reading all the stuff about break-ins, toilet problem etc, we were so glad that our home is still in one piece after we came back. hope that those who had problems would be able to resolve them soon. cheers.

it's actually not a hole but a small pipe protruding out from the wall. sorry couldn't find any picture to show. perhaps those who have not started reno can show. not everyone will be able to find this hole now bcos if it's low enough originally, it will be seal off by the kitchen cabinet base. since the officer admitted it's a design flaw, then ask him to resolve the problem. hope that the MP is able to assist you.

welcome to the black white n grey family.

hi, there's one more way to make them work faster. expose your case to the media. you can either write to the forum or call up the papers. sin min, wan bao, newpaper etc etc. each has some hotline to call. u can tell them about the sub-standard work, resulting in water leaking, then afraid about dengue, didn't the gov ask us to be diligent with dengue etc etc.
-
hi, that's quite bad. u need to press HDB for compensation. this is defintely a design flaw. not everyone will have this problem depending on the height of this pipe. if it's low enough, it will be sealed off by the kitchen cabinet base. for your case, it is higher than 50 mm off the floor and hence part of it is exposed and water will leak to your cabinet. be firm with HDB.

hi, this hole is different from what msbean mentioned. it's a small little pipe protruding out from the wall near the bottom on the same side as the washing machine tap (if you have not re-locate the tap).
-
hi, no, that is not the washing machine outlet pipe. that small hole is, to be honest, i also dunno what is it for. the thing is i dun want any water flowing out from this hole and hence damage my carpentry. so seal it off which the HDB guy say i can.
-
hi, i think i have posted this before and u may have missed it. i was also puzzled by the small water outlet pipe at the bottom near the washing machine area. according to HDB, it is for water to flow when there is leakage or overflow of the internal pipes. for whatever reason, it has to flow into our unit, i have no bloody idea. so i asked if i can seal in up and they said it's ok. so for those what has not done up your reno, please seal this hole. else when water flows it may damage your kitchen capentry. i think u can make a big hoo ha with HDB. this is defintely a design flaw and they don't have the bloody courtesy to inform all home owners what this wate pipe is for.

insurance is like that. sometimes i feel that insurance is just a legalised scam. sorry to those in this line. just like car insurance. if a drunken bang into me, i cannot claim against his insurance. neither can i claim from my own. can only pay from my own pocket and hope to recover from him through legal means which everyone know is a costly process. as if i can choose who can and cannot bang.

hi, really sympathized with u. that's the thing about living in public housing. u never know what sort of neighbours u will be having. so 1st thing I did before moving in is to pray that we will have good neighbours. try not to spoil the relationship first. i believe u and your neighbours will be there for the next few years. if go to war, it will be very tiring. try to talk sense with them. (altho i have to admit that some people just dunno how to listen.) if still doesn't work, then try to seek external help e.g other neighbours, town council, HDB and lastly police. hi, maybe u may want to update the police so that they also keep a lookout for any guy that fits the description. u never know.....

that's a very good price. we paid about $1200 for ours. also pu soft but in charcoal colour.
-
that's sound scary. hope that they didn't take many stuff? time to look out for each other units.
-
nice selection. bed frame looks like what we had. how much did u pay for it?
-
hi, our sofa is 2.7m long and we are staying in a 3 room. i'm sure it can fit into your living room. 2.2-2.3 for a L-shape may be too short. if spae is a constraint, u may consider customizing.

this universal remote controller can replaced all the remote controllers that you have in your home e.g tv, dvd player, aircon etc etc. so you have only one remote instead of many many. the best is that you can program activities e.g. watch tv whereby a push of a button will power up your tv, your HTS and cable box and set all to the correct settings. abit ex though. original $499 now GSS selling at $299 but i bought at $280 at HN. there's a cheaper model at $99 though.
