After many months of searching, doing research, meeting many IDs and comparing quotes; I have finally started my renovation journey with Aasion Design. I am glad we know this company through a friend. After reading many unhappy comments by the forum members on their IDs and contractors, I am really worry that I may end up in the same situation like them. The masonry work is almost completing and today the workers have started the plastering job. I must say that the workmanship is really good and the ID has done a great job.

Hi Someone recommended me Assion Design Consultant. I have met up the ID and find him experience, patience and able to provide some drawings on the spot. The person that signed up with this company has not started reno yet, so I hope if any forum members that have engaged their service before can share with me their comments on this company. To me, most important is their service and renovation workmanship.

Hi I am considering Mitsubishi System 4 or Toshiba System 5. Though I actually wanted a System 5, but only Toshiba carries this range. I heard Toshiba System 5 is not able to provide efficient "cooling effects" and Mitsubishi is energy saving. Can anyone provide advice on the pricing and performance of these two brands.

Hi Just sharing my experience with the ID firms and Contractors I have met so far. I noticed that the contractor price is not necessary lower than the ID. Some of them even quoted higher price. Many IDs are nothing better than the contractor; as most IDs are unable to provide any design or renovation advice. They seem to be inexperience and not professionally "trained" in this field. On the other hand, many contractors I've met are able to give good renovation advice and sound experience.

Hi Thanks Kangaroo 168 for sharing. Anyone can comment on the normal payment terms by the ID/Contractor. One company demanded 10% deposit, 50% upon commencing work,35% upon commencement of carpentry and 5% upon completion of work. Many other companies have similar "unfair" payment terms. I feel that the payment terms, as well as the contract terms and conditions fully cover the ID/Contractor interest only. The home owner interest is totally neglected . What happen if the ID/Contractor fails to deliver the work they supposed to. Anyone can share their view.

Hi I have met up with some ID and Contractors for my house reno. When I asked how often they will visit the job site : different replies I received : a) everyday b) 2-3 days per week c) when there is a need. Can anyone advise me the normal market practice.

Hi Nid is one of the ID firm I have shortlisted, besides Moseng and Designer House. Anyone has comments on these three ID firm. I wanted to make my decision soon and hope to receive feedback.
