  1. Im watching normal SD from starhub digital box. Consider as 4:3 576i image? I have tried switching the mode to 4:3 but the screen size reduce quite a bit. Even if i l leave the sides as grey. Will it have burn marks in the long run?
  2. Yes, i agree. No point over stretch your pocket just because you want something. No problem if you can easily afford whatever price of the dining table you wanted. But personally, i would not spend over $1500 for a table inclusive of chairs. I rather spend on electronic appliances for home entertainment i.e Nice TV and game console That's just me..
  3. i have a 42" Hitachi plasma and i think for $1800 for a fully imported set from Japan is very worth. The PQ for SD images are also good. As for the HOT temperature, personally i dont really noticed it since i will be watching from a distance. The most singnificant difference between a CRT and widescreen plasma/LCD is the image proportion. After watching a crt tv for so many yrs, i feel that the images of people in plsama/LCD are somewhat fatter!
  4. Wah..$700 for a shoe cabinet..very ex leh..I was thinking of getting somewhere between $200-$300..think got to find other cabinets..i like yours but the price too ex for me!
  5. what do u think of this model? I like the look. Its selling at $299 in courts. Anyone knows where can i get this oven at a cheaper price. I have check with some neighbourhood shops but some doesn't sell this oven.
  6. How much is the shoe cabinet? Is the cabinet mounted to the wall?
  7. Why so kan cheong? it will take a while before your house is ready to move in. Prices will drop when new models release. You can do some research on what you like to buy but try not to buy too early.. You can start buying after your reno is completed. By then, the buying process will be fast since you already know what to buy. Thanks
  8. Hi, what do u mean by 40hr+break in? You can improve the PQ by doing it? Do share your secrets as I have a new 42" plasma tv and would like to improve the PQ if possible thanks!
  9. intersted in this model but i think its kinda ex. Anyone have comments on this model? What is the price for this? My budget is max at $200 Thanks!
  10. Hi, just got my plasma tv. I was given the default video(yellow), Audio(red, white) cables to connect from my scv digital box to my tv. Will the picture and sound quality improve if i were to change to a better cable? If yes, what kind of cable should i buy? By the way, i have no home theater system at the moment. Think of buying one. The man that came to setup my tv says that there is no significant difference.. Any advise?
  11. I can only choose either one.
  12. You r right, im not really particular with sound quality. Just something reasonable can liao. This samsung HTS looks cool. What is the model and price?
  13. if need to drill holes in the wall, the hole have to be quite big as there are a few cables connecting to the tv. Moreover i will be using composite cables to connect my scv digital box to my tv for better clarity. The cables are thicker compare to the RCA kind..Guess i will just place on my console. Just hope it can withstand the weight. Anyone has place their 42" tv on the console? Any problems?
  14. Im planning to buy a home theatre system. Budget not more than $400. Prefer statellite speakers. Any good system to recommend? Thanks
  15. Hi, My initial plan is to place my tv on the tv console but im afraid that my console might not be able to take the weight. The tv is abt 35kg. That's why im thinking of mounting. I wanted to mount a 42" plasma tv on to the wall but i do not have a feature wall. So the cables can be seen running down to the powerpoint. Is there anyway or good idea to mount a tv on the wall and nicely hide away the cables?
  16. My furniture came in last Sat and usual, there are some ****-ups. They are short of 4 stools which is meant for my coffee table. As there is a shortfall, they ask me to pay the balance minus away $400. i will pay then remain ing $400 after the stools are delivered. But i did not have a spare cheque. I have to pay them in full which i oredi pre-written my cheque amount. I overlooked this portion as i know red-apple is famous for logistics issues. I wanted to pay them when the stools arrive but they refused as the bulk of furnitures are delivered. No choice lor. They say they will call me to confirm the stool delivery but since then, no news..what shd i do..Their hotline is too hot to get thru... I want either my $400 back or my 4 little stools! Thanks
  17. Mine is a resale flat. Im using the scv point existing in the flat. Do i still need to make arrangments for the activation of the signal?
  18. This Sanyo oven looks cool..so does it have baking/grill function too? What is the max temperature you can set for the convention oven function? Got roasting function ? Thanks
  19. Hi guys, im planning to sign up for the Starhub Cable tv. Just need the basic plan groups. Im planning to get the Digital Setup box which loans for $4/mth. Other than that, there's the activation fee of $30, Eq installation of $30 and a service call charge of $30 for the first set-up box which im not sure what's that for. My question is : can i just collection the set-up box from them and do the installation myself? Anyone did that? In this case, i will just need to pay for the activation fee.. Pls advice my friends
  20. Went to Sitex yesterday. Panasonic Plasma th42-pv70h is selling at $1799 with 3+2 yrs warranty and $400 voucher. But i end up buying hitachi P42A01A. Cost me $1799 too but comes with only 3 yrs warranty. whole set imported from Japan. Bought 2yrs Harvey Norman extended warranty for $238. Total is $2037. No free gifts.. Hope i made the right choice.. By the way, those guys that are watching 42" plasma or LCD tv, whats your confortable or recommended viewing distance?
  21. Yours is plasma or LCD? What brand/model you bought?
  22. Hi, my viewing distance between my sofa and my console is about 3m. Was thinking of buying a 42" plasma. Do but you think the screen size a bit too big?
  23. TH-42PY700 is good but off my budget liao..haha
  24. went to the Sitex today to look for a plasma tv. The salesman from harvey norman says that panasonic viera th-37pv70h no more stock in Sg. As for th-42pv70h, it is price at $1999 with $400 ntuc voucher with 3 yrs agent warranty and 2 yrs free by harvey norman. He said that the 42" LCD panel is made in Japan but assemble in Sg. But someone told me b4 it's assemble in China My question is: 1.Is it true the the 37'' no more stock in Sg? 2.Which country is th-42pv70h assembled 3.Is a good buy for the 42" tv? How much is this tv selling elsewhere?
  25. Yah, you can ask ur ID to rectify all the problems before the final payment. How come you got a shock when he show you the quotation? I suppose you have look at the quote before proceeding with the reno. Unless you add a lot of additional reno work during the course of the reno.
