  1. hey emma, you should read this article *** and compare with evorich and floorxpert.. i think the voc rating is quite impt!! better check w those other brands first
  2. hey you can see this article for advice on laminate vs vinyl flooring ***. also their price calculator quite useful for calculating reno cost
  3. i also read this article from *** and called them to check with them and apparently it really is only required for flooring from the hdb regulations. Also, they also charged $3.30 to tile the floor per square foot. Add tile and new cost of cement screed should be about $9.50 per square foot. Is that reasonable? Also their price calculator is quite useful to estimate the cost of reno.. encourage you guys to try
  4. overlay won't be any cheaper... in fact the tiler told me that it's more troublesome to overlay cos must put more cement screed as the surface to stick on is smooth
  5. i heard it is $21 per square foot which is abt $189 for 1 square metre
  6. It's hard to say... Contractor always have ways to increase costs later or give lousier material. Safer to choose One you trust more so than lowest price
  7. your carpentry and hacking for the first quote really seems on the high side...
  8. i think it's possible, my condo also has some thin walls which i think are gypsum
  9. that's really good research and template done! yeah, some id really unscrupulous and add alot of extra things later
  10. i heard that it like 3.50 per sq foot for cement screeding...
  11. wow, please let me know where did you rent a boom lift and how much it cost, thanks!
  12. if you have a balcony/balconies then you might be able to avoid scaffolding. otherwise there's either metal or wood scaffolding where metal is much more expensive
  13. i think the bigger hdb at fort road seems better, better location and bigger. can reno until good as new and dun need to rent for one year
  14. normally, if you repaint the unit, the painter will patch up the hairline cracks as well so it shouldn't be a problem
