Overhead Shower Systems (rainshower, Exposed Type)
eng98 replied to newhouse's topic in Home Furnishings
Using Crestial now. Bought it at the shop next to Teka during a sale. Bought a Rain shower set, tap and kitchen tap that looks like those professional kind. Quite good. I quite like that brand. Simple design and does not look cheap. -
Went there and bought my toilet sink from them. Very friendly folks. Like you mentioned, price is quite reasonable

I am not too exprienced to advise on what you should do. But I can share with you what i did. I found some pictures of exactly the effect I wanted and showed them to my ID and he did accordingly. You can try asking your contractor to show you how the effect will look like before you commit. I think that is the best because for this type of finish, the expectation of everyone varies. Initially i thought my ID got what I wanted, but in the end, it turned out differently. Picture or the best a past work will be the best. I wanted to post a picture of my toilet, but don't know. I don't really want to use thos picture posting site. Can anyone advise how to cut and paste on my post?

I had concrete screed walls for my kitchen. My ID applied a layer of clear epoxy over it and the entire wall became even more dull in color and all the cracks, lines, flaws, defects became very obvious. Made the entire wall so ugly. I was so pissed that I made them redo the whole wall. So they have to hack everything off the surface and redo the screed. After that, much better. And it does feel powedery everytime you touch it. But that's exactly what I want to feel.

I think it's the Mallia range. That's what i got when I went to Choo chiang to buy. I remember my heater swtich is also $7.50 before gst. I thought it was Model range, but looking at it carefully on the invoice, i think its says mallia. And when I check the online catalogue, it also seems like its mallia.

Very nice dining table. you mentioned you got it customised. Is it from "Living Tree Gallery" and how much did you spend on it?
-
Nice View there... BTW What is a repurchase flat?

That's my thoughts too. That's why I am considering to DIY as a last resort.

I am thinking of changing the socket and switches myself. the electrician has created all the new points and in their scope of work, they usually include the normal white ones. right now they are going to charge me about about $15 for a MK one. Will save if I can supply it myself, but not sure if they are going to charge me again for labor. by right they shouldn't since they will be double-charging. But worse come to worse if they are going to do that, I am considering of doing it myself. Found from the net on how to do it. Seems straight forward. http://uktv.co.uk/style/stepbystep/aid/120 Any one can advise?
-
Hi MaCe, I read that you advise using Clipsal, but do you think I can get them within this price range? Like I mentioned, I want to purchase them myself and the eletrician will charge me for labor to change them. But i don't want to blow the budget that was quoted. Maybe you can advise a path forward.

Hi, May I know what is the brand of the items mentioned above? My ID is charging me a lump sum $165 to supply and change from the existing HDB ones to silver MK ones: 2 nos of 2-gang light switch 3 nos of heater switch 1 no of 1-gang switch socket 5 nos of 2-gang switch socket Any comments on the price? I was thinking of supplying my own to get better value. Also, maybe someone can advise me what is this heater switch about? They are using this heater switch for my hob and hood. What so special about it as compared to most electrical quotations using 3-core cable for hob and hood, which is much cheaper? Someone please advise. Thanks

Settled already. Thanks to all who replied. What I did: Called up other shop to find out the price to work my sums just in case the shop try to be funny. Then I called up the shop where I bought the fridge to find out the current price. So I just went there and told them that I want to upgrade. No problem at all. Asked me what is the price that was quoted to me by the salesperson who served me when I bought the fridge and confirm the price holds and went ahead and change on order. Just need to top up the difference in the final payment when the fridge is delivered. This price is even lower than the one that was quoted to me over the phone. Good service.

Hi, I recently placed an order for a white F&P fridge with an electrical dealer. The item has not been delivered yet and I had placed a $100 deposit with the shop. My ID told me it does not blend in with the entire color scheme of the kitchen and suggested we change it to an stainless steel finish one. I know I can go back to the shop and get them to change the fridge since it has not been delivered yet. But I have some concerns here. I have to top up the difference in price for the 2 models. But question here is how is this difference calculated. You see, these electrical shops usually quote prices which are prices lower than those you get in those big names shops selling at recommended retail price. So now when I want to upgrade, the difference I am wondering the shop will make me need to top up - will it be the discounted price of the Stainless steel model this shop is selling less the price I paid for the white one, or the recommended retail price of the Stainless steel model less the price i paid for the white one? I know it really depends on how kind this shop owner is to quote the difference. Anyone has experience in this situation and can advise a strategy to deal with it? Thanks

Easier to go to the Jurong West Shop, it's a shop front next to the food center. I went to the one at Toh Guan, it's an industrial shopfront. Looks like a workshop from outside and when you go into the office, they have a counter that you will have to stand there and enquire.

No comment on whether if the sink is good with or without the material. Cos no experience. Maybe someone who has such sink can comment. But like I said before hearing from the salesperson, it's supposed to reduce condensation at the bottom of the sink. It's very obvious with the coating material, without it, it is just raw metal.
-
The coating is supposed to reduce condensation on the surface beneath the sink, as what the sales people told me. Most sink will just have a piece of black insulating material (smaller than the sink bottom surface) at the area there the water the most likely impact. The one I saw from Bellari and MH of Poh Joo has a coating of clay like material on the entire bottom of the sink bowl. The one I saw from Hoe Kee, the $100 plus one, does not have any material below. I am also curious why those professional sink, ie the square corner ones are so expensive. The sales person at Bellari told me that because it's sort of hand made from a metal sheet and need manual work to fold and weld them together, as compared to the usual molded ones. Anyone can enlighten on this?
-
oh wow I was abt to ask how much is the pro sink. just nice u posted. $498 is ex, only slightly cheaper than Teka. Wanted to get the TEKA one initially, but the 2 bowl one is about $1300, even with discount of usual about 15%, it is still quite expensive. I have seen 2 similar ones at ard $250 at Hoe Kee, u can consider going there to take a look. Saw the ones at Hoe Kee, don't think it's good. I think there is no coating underneath the sink. I was actually thinking of going to those S/S fabricator that make those at hawker centers to do one. But not too sure if it will be cheaper and worth the trouble.
-
Hi, I think we are in the same situation. I just posted in another thread on sink. We most probably looked at the same sink before. I was also recommended MN at Poh Joo. Looks quite good. And they seems to push quite hard on them. I think they bring in this brand, so probably have higher margin. But I must say they looked pretty solid. The coating below the sink is pretty thick too. But I will not be going for it as the size I need is smaller. But I will be buying their S/S waste bin. Pretty innovative to install a drain in the bin, so we need not remove the bin to wash. I am also looking at the Bellari sink. the professional one. Most likely will get it, but still trying to look for a cheaper option. it's $498! This one I am looking at is a 2 bowl. The smaller bowl has a ledge that we can put the sponge. without this ledge, it's $428. I think it's not problem to put a few more holes, they should not rust since they are stainless., just make sure that you don't scratch it.
-
Hi, Need some feedback on the quality of the Bellari professional sink from a user like yourself. Am also interested to get one too. Did you do a undermount or surface mount for it? Can post a picture to share. I am thinking of getting the one with 2 bowls, and an additonal piece of S/S steel in the smaller bowl for mounting the mixer. Wanted that additional ledge in the small bowl for sponges. The soap dispener is from Bellari too? So what did you do to fit it?

Can post some picture of the common toilet to show the piping that you mentioned? My unit is also in the area, JW 62#. Was thinking how to do the same like your MBR toilet. One other question. Did you tile up your service balcony?
-
Hi, I cannot confirm with you now that if the cost includes haulage for the debris, I don't have my quotation with me now. But I don't recall my ID charging separately for haulage of any sort, the cost are included in the hacking as lump sum cost. But do let me confirm with you on this again. Anyway if you are going to go with this ID, he is going to charge you that, you can only try to negotiate with him the price again. I don't think you can take that out of the quotation, cause it's part of the entire work scope. Also I believe if really take it out, he most likely will move his cost somewhere else to make his profit back. You can use your other quotation prices to help in your negotiation to show him if you are aware of the market price.

Went to the Hansgrohe shop along near robertson quay. Saw a notice on the front door that there will be a warehouse sale on the 22 Sept. Anyone being to the last one? Is the deal good?
-
So my deal is not that good after all? $320 for the cost of the heater and installing the heater. Additional $$ to run the piping to the toilet's taps. Then not so good leh...must negotiate again then
