  1. Using Crestial now. Bought it at the shop next to Teka during a sale. Bought a Rain shower set, tap and kitchen tap that looks like those professional kind. Quite good. I quite like that brand. Simple design and does not look cheap.
  2. Went there and bought my toilet sink from them. Very friendly folks. Like you mentioned, price is quite reasonable
  3. I am not too exprienced to advise on what you should do. But I can share with you what i did. I found some pictures of exactly the effect I wanted and showed them to my ID and he did accordingly. You can try asking your contractor to show you how the effect will look like before you commit. I think that is the best because for this type of finish, the expectation of everyone varies. Initially i thought my ID got what I wanted, but in the end, it turned out differently. Picture or the best a past work will be the best. I wanted to post a picture of my toilet, but don't know. I don't really want to use thos picture posting site. Can anyone advise how to cut and paste on my post?
  4. I had concrete screed walls for my kitchen. My ID applied a layer of clear epoxy over it and the entire wall became even more dull in color and all the cracks, lines, flaws, defects became very obvious. Made the entire wall so ugly. I was so pissed that I made them redo the whole wall. So they have to hack everything off the surface and redo the screed. After that, much better. And it does feel powedery everytime you touch it. But that's exactly what I want to feel.
  5. I think it's the Mallia range. That's what i got when I went to Choo chiang to buy. I remember my heater swtich is also $7.50 before gst. I thought it was Model range, but looking at it carefully on the invoice, i think its says mallia. And when I check the online catalogue, it also seems like its mallia.
  6. Very nice dining table. you mentioned you got it customised. Is it from "Living Tree Gallery" and how much did you spend on it?
  7. Nice View there... BTW What is a repurchase flat?
  8. That's my thoughts too. That's why I am considering to DIY as a last resort.

It's for EA too. The last item on chaning the switch socket and cover is the same one I am discussing in the other thread. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...mp;#entry230864
  10. I am thinking of changing the socket and switches myself. the electrician has created all the new points and in their scope of work, they usually include the normal white ones. right now they are going to charge me about about $15 for a MK one. Will save if I can supply it myself, but not sure if they are going to charge me again for labor. by right they shouldn't since they will be double-charging. But worse come to worse if they are going to do that, I am considering of doing it myself. Found from the net on how to do it. Seems straight forward. http://uktv.co.uk/style/stepbystep/aid/120 Any one can advise?
  11. Hi MaCe, I read that you advise using Clipsal, but do you think I can get them within this price range? Like I mentioned, I want to purchase them myself and the eletrician will charge me for labor to change them. But i don't want to blow the budget that was quoted. Maybe you can advise a path forward.
  12. Hi, May I know what is the brand of the items mentioned above? My ID is charging me a lump sum $165 to supply and change from the existing HDB ones to silver MK ones: 2 nos of 2-gang light switch 3 nos of heater switch 1 no of 1-gang switch socket 5 nos of 2-gang switch socket Any comments on the price? I was thinking of supplying my own to get better value. Also, maybe someone can advise me what is this heater switch about? They are using this heater switch for my hob and hood. What so special about it as compared to most electrical quotations using 3-core cable for hob and hood, which is much cheaper? Someone please advise. Thanks
  13. Settled already. Thanks to all who replied. What I did: Called up other shop to find out the price to work my sums just in case the shop try to be funny. Then I called up the shop where I bought the fridge to find out the current price. So I just went there and told them that I want to upgrade. No problem at all. Asked me what is the price that was quoted to me by the salesperson who served me when I bought the fridge and confirm the price holds and went ahead and change on order. Just need to top up the difference in the final payment when the fridge is delivered. This price is even lower than the one that was quoted to me over the phone. Good service.
  14. Hi, I recently placed an order for a white F&P fridge with an electrical dealer. The item has not been delivered yet and I had placed a $100 deposit with the shop. My ID told me it does not blend in with the entire color scheme of the kitchen and suggested we change it to an stainless steel finish one. I know I can go back to the shop and get them to change the fridge since it has not been delivered yet. But I have some concerns here. I have to top up the difference in price for the 2 models. But question here is how is this difference calculated. You see, these electrical shops usually quote prices which are prices lower than those you get in those big names shops selling at recommended retail price. So now when I want to upgrade, the difference I am wondering the shop will make me need to top up - will it be the discounted price of the Stainless steel model this shop is selling less the price I paid for the white one, or the recommended retail price of the Stainless steel model less the price i paid for the white one? I know it really depends on how kind this shop owner is to quote the difference. Anyone has experience in this situation and can advise a strategy to deal with it? Thanks
  15. Easier to go to the Jurong West Shop, it's a shop front next to the food center. I went to the one at Toh Guan, it's an industrial shopfront. Looks like a workshop from outside and when you go into the office, they have a counter that you will have to stand there and enquire.
