Island, Bar Top Table - Quartz Or Solid Surface
Asuka Solid Surface replied to Cowboyaid's topic in Kitchen & Bathroom
Hi, It bait late to post this now but both polyester and acrylic board face problems of scratch marks and water stain but on the other hand they can be easily removed and repair compared to other type of material. If your bar top is subjected to constant sunlight Acrylic will be the perfect solution to your problem as they can be thermoformed easily and is stronger compared to polyester board. Hi Jovioh, The colour change is caused by chorine in water. Looking at the size of the water stain mark, It seems like you place your disk rack at the location? To remedy this problem, firstly do not place any wet rag at the surface top at the time being and let the stain dry up for about a week. Use car polish wax to apply on the damage surface in circular motion and I believe if the quality of the surface is good it will return to it original shine. I understand it will be a little hard for it to keep it dry as it just beside the sink hence you may use a hand dryer at middle speed for a while before applying the wax but do be careful not to do it for too long as long as it feels dry then it good enough Good Luck Regards Sebast Lee

Hi all, I won't say which product is better or superior but both has it own advantages and disadvantages. But really it is base on your budget and usages as all surfaces are subject to stains. Hence it more important to know how heavy of a user you are and more importantly how diligent you are in maintaining your kitchen top. Do let if anyone want more clarity and understanding on any surfaces Regards Sebast Lee

Hi, I am sorry to say that burn marks are very difficult to recover. This is cause by chemical reaction due to heat (Usually white surface turn yellowish and black turn white) Regards Sebast Lee

Hi, Indeed it true that Quartz and Solid Surface are non-porus. The stain you encounter is due chorine's chemical reaction to the surface. To remedy this problem let the stain dry and use car wax to polish the top again.. You'll be surprise with the brand new effect. Hope my suggestion helps. Meanwhile if anyone wants to know more about the difference in the 3 type of material do let me know ya or raise any question regarding solid surface do post it here. Regards Sebast Lee
