  1. hey there! mind letting me know if you know who did up the aluminium frames? was it done by your contractor or ID? or a separate vendor? thanks much
  2. no problem! thanks for the reply though looks like it's time for some legwork, have been calling up aluminium suppliers and even started speaking to some carpenters to build a wooden frame instead too.
  3. Hi everyone! Sorry, long time lurker here and haven't been posting much. Been helped immensely by the wealth of information that you guys have provided here on this forum. Was planning to start a T-Blog so I could give back to the community here, but reno is still underway at my new place! Now.. to quote from many mangas and anime... lend me your strength!! We've knocked down the wall to one of our rooms so we could open up the space and partition it using windows (see here on mintyvintage's t-blog: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/66120-raw-means-refined-scandinavian-industrial/page-3#entry867921) but we changed it to floor-to-ceiling (almost) louvre windows as we thought we might have problems finding someone who could install it for us. See photos here: \\ The finger is pointing to where the proposed window would be, and the "1080" part is supposed to be the sliding door is going to go. The look would be something like this here, which we saw at a boutique in Orchard: I checked out several window louvre suppliers and contractors, some who install and some who don't, and the prices range from $1,500 to over $9,000. Being a true-blue born-and-bred multiple-ICT-serving Singaporean that I am, I went to do price checks and comparisons and managed to find suppliers of the glass window panes/blades and also the louvre systems, which altogether amount to around $500. However I'm missing the aluminium window louvre frame (which the louvre system will attach to) and been having trouble convincing the full-system guys to sell me the frame -- which is altogether understandable as they have their own bottom-line as well. I think the problem is that not many people actually install these purely INSIDE their HDB homes (usually it's outward facing)... most examples I've seen are in landed or commercial properties. I guess my last resort would be to go back to the boutique and ask them where they got theirs.. if anyone can help, I shall be eternally grateful and also invite you to my home for some expertly-brewed Nespresso coffee. Thanks in advance!
  4. hey there! I've been looking high and low for someone who can do black frames like these.. you were saying these are cast iron and not aluminium? mind sharing the contacts for the suppliers/manufacturers? for both aluminium and iron did they also do the sliding doors? thanks very much, i'm halfway through my reno and these are the missing components in my home, heh.
