  1. Pls let me know if anyone didn't receive my PM. Happy New Year and good luck to your reno......
  2. Hi, Hope the followings answer your questions Ans 1: The contractor will either run a casing OR embedded the SCV cable all the way to the opposite side of the wall. The latter will be more expensive as they need to cut a long slot on the wall to hide the cable, then paste the cut with putty of cement. Ans 2: There's no fibre optic point beside the TV point. It's terminated in the DB box behind the main door. Ans 3: Not only the faceplate, but also Ethernet keystone for each LAN point. I DIY this myself. Faceplate costs about $2~$3 each. Cat6 keystone costs about $5~$6 each.
  3. I think cooling is not the main concern here, but condensation inside the wooden wardrobe. Mould will start growing very soon unless the A/C is not use. Just my 2cts...
  4. I followed exactly as per the instruction on the bottle. Soaked the affected area for ~5mins, but still the cement stains didn't come off. So, I scrubbed it slightly with a metal brush as the instruction suggested. Bingo....the cement stains just came off. Tried scrubbing without soaking with acid, it still worked but got to scrub harder and longer. Just finished scrubbing the common bathroom, will continue on master bathroom tomorrow. Thanks for the tips and Happy New Year!!
  5. Show the vent fan that you intended to buy to your contractor and ask how much he charge for installation. Or, ask him how much he will charge if he buy and install at once. I took the lazy path and asked my ID to buy and install, end up paying $250 for each vent fan (I have 1x in each bathroom, and 1x between kitchen and service yard). Each KDK vent fan costs approx $62.06 (http://www.kdk.sg/products/ventilating-fan/residential-use/window-mount.html), so I was paying like $190 for each installation. This is what I have in my bathrooms and kitchen. But, this is what I have wanted. Unfortunately, my ID messed this up...
  6. I use this type of wire for all downlights and T5 tube. If you want premium grade wires, check out LHS Electronics in Sim Lim Tower. I bought most of my DIY audio grade coax cables, speaker cables and interconnects from there. But, for lighting wires, just buy a normal type like the one shown in the attached photos.

  9. Hi daintyflair, so sorry...my mailbox was full hence clear most of the messages. PM me if you have any other questions or advices for me. Thks!
  10. Sounds dangerous....but LL got to try it 1st since already ordered the acid. If fail then find contractor. Thks!
  11. Our nightmare is coming to end soon after we settle the outstanding balance through small claims. Unfortunately, some forumers out there, who prefer to keep silent while trying to work out with ID J*, still have a long way to go. There are also some irresponsible forumers who ran into trouble in their reno with ID J*, but prefer not to share the details for some reasons... BTW, I will collect the Eagle 28 cement removal acid tomorrow from eStore at Aljunied. Hopefully it can remove the cement stains on the bathrooms flooring. Do you have any tips to polish the Quartz surface?
  12. Next few posts show the reno defects/flaws and undelivered items that we are still considering to file for small claims through the state court, especially those irreversible defects/flaws that I couldn't fix without engaging the contractors.
