  1. Have sent PM to those had requested. Hi "blackie", your PM mailbox is full
  2. I use the drainage pipe and trap come with the taobao sink. I believe your plumber will source locally and fit them for you if you don't provide them. I will revert to the hard type when the existing one spoilt, because I think the soft piping will restrict the drainage water flow and got choke more easily.
  3. Hi HansamuQ, Link for the 4-ganged Philips light switch: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=35590039581&spm=a1z09.2.9.23.1vITN7&_u=evr2rgbac1d The light switch doesn't come with LED indicator, but it has fluorescent reflector that will make it reflective in the dark. Link for the SST sink with 2mm thickness grade 316 stainless steel: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=39032549243&spm=a1z09.2.9.350.1vITN7&_u=evr2rgbcf81 It's not cheap, but we like the size for the convenience of washing big items. So far no rust or any problem with it. Please also take note that if you intended to mount the sink underneath the table-top, then the screw thread of the dish-washing soup dispenser might not be long enough. I am ok with it because I use that 2.5mm hole for my water treatment's water tap, which I bought separately and has long mounting screw thread. Let me know if I can be of any help....in term of TB shopping, not sourcing for a good ID
  4. Let me know if anyone doesn't receive my PM. Wish your luck in your reno and enjoy the shopping
  5. Hi all, I am sorry for my late reply. Kena chickenpox just before CNY, hence didn't check PM for the past 2-3 weeks. Let me know if anyone doesn't receive my PM. Wish your luck in your reno and Happy Chinese New Year
  6. Hi snowy89, is your vanity top made of granite, quartz or solid surface? Looks so shiny Much much better than my Quartz kitchen table top and solid surface vanity top.....

  10. To those who has praised this ID J*, I really hope that your be responsible to your posts. While fixing the existing ones, you discovered another few....it takes time to catch up things like this. It's just part of our life.....we meet nice ppl sometimes, but we also meet 'suay' ppl occasionally. So long as family is supportive and work out together, everything can be solved
  11. 4) These are another defects that I have yet to find an electrician and stone specialist to fix. Me and wife had wanted the iQuartz, but ID J* "managed" to convince us to go for his preferred LianHen brand quartz, which he claimed to be the best quartz in this price range.
  12. 2) Patches of silicon and cement everywhere...wonder why they filled cement underneath A/C units in both bedrooms?? 3) The paint right above MBR door started to drop off. I guess they probably didn''t clean/dry the surface before applying paint.
  13. So exhausted to find new defects while trying to patch the existing ones.... 1) Always found white powder on the black quartz table top right below a power sockets and 20A switch in kitchen. The 20A switch was very rough when switching on/off, and the power socket was loose. Opened the covers last week and found another terrible workmanship. So....LL and cleaned them up myself lor
  14. PM'ed. Those who doesn't receive pls clear your mailbox.
  15. One advice to those who haven't or about to start laying out your electrical power points.... Ask you electrician to dedicate a single power socket for your fridge in the kitchen. By doing so, you don't have to shutoff your fridge, which is harmful to any compressor-equipped appliances, when you decide to change any wiring in the kitchen that involves opening of the power sockets to add more power sockets, repair power sockets, etc. Just my 2 cts
  16. In order not to complicate things, I prefer to share through PM. But, u may figure it out yourself somewhere even without my PM
  17. u want some for your new home to pickup some DIY know-how I rather learn nothing and enjoy a nicely renovated new home with family As mentioned in post#96, some of those defects are not within my DIY capability. Some will probably cost $1k to $2k to get fixed. The whole off-centered TV console & featured wall will cost more than $1k already...which I would rather dispose my floorstanding speakers and go for sound bar or smaller satellite speakers. BTW, any advice to polish the Quartz kitchen table top and solid surface vanity top? Mine are all very dull and come with white patches. I have tried white vinegar, mama-lemon dish washer and warm water on a small area of the quartz, but none seems to work. Found some recommended products in the US online store. Pls share if you know any similar and proven products sold locally. Thks!
  18. Sorry to those who didn't manage to pm me. Just cleared my mailbox and PM'ed your. Wish your luck in your ID selection and reno journey....
  19. Thanks, JohnB! Always felt so relief after fixing each defect....but, to think that you have more defects to fix for a new home that you spent nearly $70k to reno, it's so upset and tired. Well, got no choice but to keep fixing one after another More headache are those that beyond my DIY capability or expensive to repair, such as sealed power sockets, dull and whitish patches of quartz kitchen table top and solid surface vanity top, off-centered TV console & featured wall, cracked tiles, etc.

  24. HDB power sockets are wired in ring circuit from a 13A rated circuit breaker in the DB box. There are a few rings in one hdb flat unit. Each ring circuit can support up to approx. 3000W of load. It's quite safe to use those socket for general devices such as desktop LED/fluorescent lamp, handphone chargers, laptop, HIFI system (unless you play vacuum tube amps that consume high current), etc. You may utilise the additional 3 wires (assuming that those 3 wires are the extension from one of the current socket) for a 3rd power socket, but it's not advisable to daisy chain it to a 4th socket. In fact, the existing 2 sockets are sufficient based on your usage. Just need to buy a good quality fused power strips, and connect each of them separately to each wall socket. If you don't have any electrical know-how, then better leave this to the licensed electrician. It's no fun to trip the whole house that may damage your other expensive household appliances, or get yourself electrocuted.
