Minfaith, your next door reno arh... aryo.. then I suggest you move in only after they're done else super noisy.. the unit above mine also started reno like 3 weeks ago.. *bing bing bong bong*.. told hubby we better move in when their done.. kekeke.. on the other hand, its kinda exciting to hear other neighbours doing their reno.. its so fun & anticipating! hey ginger darlin, you've moved in le rite.. getting used to the place ma?.. what abt unpacking of stuffs? all done le arh...?

I'll remember the next time round hahaha... actually our park is kinda lively during festives.. there was this once I went up and there's this carnival thingy going on and you can actually hear ppl auctioning and singing... again, lights are all nicely done up.. Waahhhh... 800 bucks! omg! .. that ex arh.. like you've said darlin, I think I would rather spend it else where.. say on deco, appliances, etc. Actually hubby and I did think of changing of our current balcony sldiing door (the standard ones by HDB) to folding ones, make a guess how much it is ... its.... 3K++ ArrrHHH! so decided not ba, maybe wait til say 1,2 years later than decided again... OooOOOhh... so I guess we would be movin in ard the same time ba .. kekekeke...

Yeh, my mum asked me to engaged 2 maids to help out but I rather not cos do not like the idea of strangers in the house so I slogged my *** out lo and true lo minfaith, should wear gloves but I "geh kiang".. hahahaha Ooooh, so you're @ our block too yesterday, so were we.. went up to sit sit n relax and like uve said, kinda surprise to see the park nicely done up to celebrate Lantern festival with the lights and stuffs.. really cool ~ Nope darlin, did not change my main gate but did toy with the idea though, but then again, decided against it cos didnt wanna incurr extra costs so we just gave the gate and door a fresh coat of paint.. & voila! I reckon you'll be movin in somewhere end October?... excited yeh !!

Me too minfaith... my fingers and palm all red from the wiping.. I was wiping all carpentry very vigorously with a cloth and CIF.. hands still feelin kinda sore and Im aching all over especially my arms and legs.. My dad called me up to check hows the cleaning up and told him still gotta "hand-mop" the bedrooms tiles once again and guess what he says - - >> ROME ISNT BUILT IN ONE DAY ... thanks alot dad hahaha.... So when is the estimated completion date minfaith?.. We've already placed all furnitures in their approppriate places and its good for movin in le but we gonna move in sometime 2 weeks later.. hubby says gotta "xie-tu" first then pick a good date to move in.. I wonder whats ginger progress le .... ginger, paging for ginger...

Hey guys.. Done with the cleaning up of my house le.. was at it for the whole of yesterday.. god was that back-breaking or what!.. Im aching all over right now ... but I think Ive got to mop all 3 bedroom once again cos it doesn't seem clean yet, there's like this shadow on the tiles.. .. told hubby Im gonna have to literally go on all fours and used a cloth to "mop" rather than using a mop... Ladies, 131 sqm of area cleaning kills.. it really does ... hahaha...

Im facing the park.. but during times when wind is kinda weak, we will open the main door and its breezy le.. hubby said opening the door helps the circulation, hence, stronger winds if were to leave door open... As for cleaning of hse, we're doing it TOMORROW ..... we will not be splashing water cos my ID actually gotten some cleaners to clean up our place so our place no more powdery feel.. just that got little stains on the tiles that needs some extra cleaning ourselves... also becos our furnitures are all in, hence, I dun want to leave water stains on them, especially my wool-ly carpet, sofa & wallpaper.... As for carpentry furnitures lei... we'll be wiping them with CIF - wardrobes got some pencil markings on them.. ginger, meaning you've been doing some cleaning up already?... Im doing it for the 1st time tmr.. going up with MIL to clean first.. hubby will then join us when he's back from work.. need him to move the sofa away for us to mop the floor.. ...haha... gotta ask my bro to bring vacuum cleaner from my parent's place as well.. luckily its only 5mins walking distance

ginger/minfaith, Something to share.. I realised the time when our block is really windy is during the afternoons.. cos eveytime my hubby goes up during lunchtime to take a look, its always wind howling.. even my ID said his contractors do not dare to open the balcony door cos its simply too windy.. my ID himself do not open either, he wld just tahan the heat (cos windows all closed) when he's up there .... As for night, well... the wind isnt as strong but its cold ... so when you switch on the fan together with the soft wind, you will feel very icy..

minfaith, our haulages are taken care my my ID's contractor.. its in our contract.... But kinda weird huh, your ID doesnt cover that aspect.... hmm...... ginger, yours 80% done le arh.... !! ... mine almost 100% done le.. curtains up today and that should be the last bit le.. !! .... so I guess whats left is to check the hse throughly during the handover .. see if there are any areas that requires further work.. and thats should be it le! now that leaves me and my hubby the task that we're dreading.... CLEANING OF THE HOUSE! !! though my ID did engage cleaners to clean up but still, we've gotta clean it once more ourselves..

wow! so I reckon you'll be moving in very soon then!.. well, for us, mostly likely ard Oct/Nov ba... u ner? ya la ...imagine all the cleaning and washing up that we're gonna do *imagination bubbles*... hahaha... hubby said he's gonna gather all his buddies to help but told him to save it cos its going to be more of fun than work for them.. most likely I have to clear up after them.. For us, we have opted for a modern minimalist theme.. with off white/off black/grey as the main color.. and glass/chrome for our furnitures/accessories... so its gonna be a cold and cool ambience.. well, I guess the only odd color out would be my wallpaper that stretches across our feature wall - its in light baby pink.. that sort of brings out the color of our black/gray wallpapered tv feature wall Btw, whats your progress minfaith? yaya.. we love black & grey too thats y we have opted for such color theme.. hee hee... You're gonna ROM soon darlin?! Thats so nice to hear! ... Ive just ROM in August 07.. .. but its this Thurs or next Thurs cos today already Fri le wor... That is so true minfaith!.. but lucky for us we have our designer to do the running for us BUT! we did our running as well, especially for the furnitures and deco stuffs.. hee hee... As for stuffs like bathrooms accessories, kitchen sinks/hob/hood, lightings & etc... our designer will do the 1st round of selection then follow by us going down to view his selection. If we dont really like what he has choosen, then either we go ard scouting for that piece and get him to buy it or get him to find somewhat similiar.. thats y we're thankful to him.. well, my reno should be completed in about 2-3 weeks time.. real excited abt it.. jus that the thought of washing the entire hse really >> So whats your theme in mind minfaith?

I've got myself a rinnai hob n hood .. or rather my designer got them for us, he was the one who had choosen it, we leave it to him cos FOC ma.. Fridge, I've got mitsubishi... washing machine.. cant remember liao~~

well yeh.. moving kinda fast and smooth except for some hiccups here n there .... got them to re-plaster 2 of my walls... terribly done... .. complained to my designer yesterday and when we went over this morning, they're at it already.. done around in the afternoon ... seems like your reno is up and going too ya... ... hmmmm.. guess what, it just hit me that they havent done my overhanging bar rack lei .. gonna remind my designer on next Monday.

hehehe... last nite went over to my place with hubby and our island kitchen almost done le! even dining area de mirror feature also up le ... .. now left with bits n pieces like glass shower screen for both bathrooms, misc carpentry works for kitchen, dining room hanging light.. mmmm... and touch ups here and there la ~~ but then! we realised most of our doors and walls are all smudged with black black finger prints.. best thing is, all of our doors are white color! .. meaning when eveything is done, they've gotta touch up those dirty areas for us ... sianz~~ pek chek~~ ginger, couldnt your contractor start elsewhere first ma?.. say.. living, kitchen, etc... maybe you should give HDB a call to give them chasers. When I did the hacking of my study room, it took my designer 3 weeks to get the approval.. super .. my designer bo bianz asked me to give HDB chasers cos Im the owner so they'll gan jiong abit rather than he himself ..

LATEST UPDATE!! my hubby just 3G me to show me the works done.. and seems like even MBR de wardrobe also done le and so is my kitchen de stainless steel backing .. yipee!!

yeh.. thats true Cantona.. told my lau gong last nite but he said "should be alrite ba...." btw.. last nite my designer advised plastering of living/kithcen ceiling done, living/MBR tv feature wall done and wallpaper all up!! can't wait to see it on Saturday when we'll go over to receive the 2 beds and mattresses...

hi ginger/cantona, Well, u guys are right .. think tonite I'll talk to my hubby about it.. initially we didnt anticipate that reno works would be delayed, hence, the furnitures all arrived early .. currently, couch, dining table, coffee table, washing machine & refrigerator all arrived.. have left all of them except couch in our spareroom but not locked though cos still some works going on .. thanks for advise guys! ginger, where did you get your furnitures from ner? what about yourself cantona?.. a new home owner yourself?

cozy corner... ooOOoooo... sounds terrific.. dun worry it'll turn out great ya.. if you go to HDB website on their habitat forum showroom, you'll notice some sample units do have a cosy corner and like it suggest, it is cozy indeed!.. fang xin ya my reno's going smooth but yet to be completed, only halfway through for carpentry works - feature wall for tv in livin room halfway through, feature wall for tv in MBD not done yet, pole system wardrobe in MBD not done yet, island kitchen halfway through.. then there's also a feature mirror wall for dining area, wallpaper to run from bomb shelter through to balcony.. all not done yet *tearing hair out* & oh ya.. 3 TVs coming in for installation by Wednesday.. though our reno works not completed yet, but bit by bit hubby and I are starting to bring stuffs that we had bought over to store in the bomb shelter le.. bar stools, sound system, my baobei catus even candles from IKEA to keep the house xiang xiang .. hahaha... what about yourself ginger? though your works not started yet but I believe you should already have a concept or theme in mind..

Yup, our legs will be facing the door of our MBR.. yeh yeh, I know ppl saying things like that isn't good in fengshui terms or sorts but we really do not have any other choices.. this seems the best orientation we can fit in our furnitures.. and you're right on, wardrobe will be against the aircon ledge. Btw darlin, if you wanna hack the wall, my advise is to get your contractor to apply for the permit early cos we waited for almost 3 weeks to get the approval and becos of this, all works were put to stop. But luckily my designer's contractors hands and legs very fast.. hacking was supposed to be done on Monday and we assumed that maybe only late afternoon then it'll be done but when my FH rushed down during lunchtime, all's done! They've even cleared the debris for 2nd half tiles laying! hey ginger, what's a TO? And you mean hacking away your toilets or toilets tiles?

hihi Ginger... err... Im not too sure how much did both of my bathrooms cost cos I did not note of the breakdown carefully .. Oops.. hee hee ... .. and becos we havent really started on the bathrooms, hence, I do not have any pixs to share with you but I will when its started ya. Well just like newbie, I did hacked my study room away as well, as a matter of fact, it was hacked off only this morning! ... can't wait to go over during the weekends to take a look .. Btw, u've mentioned you can't fit in a king size bed, why is this so cos I managed to do it .. *scratch-head* Just like newbie advised, take your measurements very carefully to ensure that there's no hiccups cos you wouldn't want to realise your furnitures can't fit only when its at your place ya. For us, we bought a king size bed that comes with side tables.. we do away with a dressing table cos I never need that and as for MBR TV, we bought a wall-mount unit, this way we can save some spaces here and there. Air-conditioner wise, I've always prefered Mitsubishi Starmex cos I'm using it in my own room at my parent's place and its really quiet. Have you started the reno works already or just sourcing for deco first?

OMG Ginger!! Seeing your pixs is just like looking at my own place! Best thing is we have the exact floor layout cos some units has the kitchen on the left and some on the right... ours is on the right.. hehehe ... ya, talking about the key pouch, I got a shock too .. I was like > As for defects ma.. I didnt have much except for the balcony sliding door ledge came off and a few crack lines here and there on both bathrooms tiles but we did not submit the defects forms cos we find it too much of a hassle so instead we will get our designer to remedy that for us... keke Btw Ginger, Im not sure if it happened to your unit but when my FH and myself went to take a look at our unit for the 1st time, I almost faintz when I look at my MBR bathroom cos the vanity sink and toilet bowl are of different color!! The bowl seems okie in dark beige BUT! the vanity sink is in .. I dunno how to describe the color... icky greyish green?! Goodness me! And my FH absolutely hates the bathroom tiles... So Ginger neighbour , I believe you must be busy scouting for ID now ya.. Any ID in mind? Any specific theme in mind?
