Sorry hor, not trying to be a wet blanket but $45 per hr is daylight robbery! The market rate should be $10 per hr only so for 4 hrs it should be $40.

Did you all notice that our carpark does not have free parking on sundays and public holidays!

I beg to differ. Like i said in my previous post earlier, I've been using a 30L storage heater most of my life. You don't need to keep turning on the heater everytime you bathe. Just need to turn on for 15-20 mins to heat it up and turn it off. It will be warm for a long period of time. Me and my wife take a bath in the morning before going to work, after work come back, take a bath again, the water is still hot! !! There is no need to turn it on to heat it up again Like that, you save electrical bill instead cos you only turn it on once a day for 15-20 mins. But of course if you turn on and forget to switch it off, that is another matter altogether

Have been hearing this name Jill Lowe a lot lately. She is even conducting some sort of course in my company. My boss was telling me that she can tell what sort of person are you just by looking at your appearance and dress sense. Is she that good??

Just an update on Blk A's progress. I noticed that the corridor lights are working already. Have been seeing a brightly lit Blk A from my present house in Bishan for the past few nights!

Hi Ebing, I highly recommend Bridal Concepts! My coordinator at that time which was 1yr+ ago was Big Sally. There were 2 Sallys there. Have not been visiting the sgbrides forum so I'm not sure if she is still there. My photographer was Kit and MUA was lynn. They form a very good team. Kit is very jovial and able to make you feel at ease and smile Lynn's skill is also good. Big Sally is very approachable and easy to negotiate with. From the package that they offered, I didn't want certain things so in return, I exchanged for more poses... In a bridal package, poses is more important than photos. For example, if your album is going to be magazine style, you can use the same pose to create some effect, like a small picture within a big picture. This is still considered as 1... not 2. Even when the picture is a mirror image, it is still 1. So you will want to have more poses so that you can have a variety to make up a story line for your album. For magazine style album, the minimum poses you need to make the album nice is about 50. My package at that time comes with 26 poses but i didn't want the bridal car and the 40 photos to give to your relatives, so i got another 3-4 more poses in return. After which i top up to 50+ out of which there were some repeated poses so if you talk about the actual number of photos or pictures used will be close to 70 but only charged for 50+. Hope I'm clear and not boring you all... Ok back to reno topics... I want my keys!

Oh no! Hopefully it won't cost you too much. But it really does make more sense to change it into a storage cabinet.

Hi Redcrystal, Omazz mattress on sale at Robinsons this weekend. Quite good discounts especially if you are Robinson Card Member. After all the discounts, still have 5% rebate on your credit card bill.

Hi All, on the subject of mattresses, I recommend the brand Lotus. I bought it from Harvey Norman 2 years ago. Don't think they are selling the brand now. Can try robinsons. Anyway, the first time I tried sleeping on it, it was heaven Feels like your body is floating on it and yet firm enough to not give you a backache. It is hand made from latex and foam. It is Anti-Sagging, dust mite resistant, etc... It even has aloe vera to help you sleep better! You all can also try Omazz which is something like Lotus but i think it is more expensive. My King size mattress cost me $2k+ at that time. It is worth every penny.

Hi Snuffle, I installed it in the common toilet in my present house. The size is quite ok lah... Not gigantic... In my new flat, I'm also going to install a 30L one even though there is only me and my wife! Can take 1 hour baths... longer than dino's 30 mins also no problem! hahaha...
-
Hi shay_d, I bought it from Goh Ah Bee for $200+ i think, can't really remember the exact cost but i do remember the difference between the 30L and the smaller one from ariston is only about $20-30 difference so might as well get the bigger one... Ariston is a good brand, the previous one in my present house lasted us more than 10 years before it started leaking because of corrosion of the pipe. Other than that, the heater was still working fine...

I'm so envious of all of you getting your keys. Mine is no where in sight! sigh... Also dun think can join the bulk aircon purchase unless i get together with you all but ask them to hold the order for me until i get my keys next year! haha... I think by the time i get my keys, all of you would have already moved in and sick of seeing or having anything to do with reno... Anyway, where are my fellow Blk A kakis?? !!

Hi Josephine, just to share, I don't think electric storage heaters will have a huge impact on your electric bills. Right now, I have a 30L ariston electric storage heater at home. I turn it on for 15 mins in the morning and after that off it. I can take a bath and my wife takes a bath. Later on at night when we return from work. We can take our baths again without turning on the heater and the water is still hot! That means we only incur the cost for the 15 mins when the heater was on. That's the beauty of storage heaters. But of course, you will have to remember to turn it off after 15-20 mins.

Hi Zanie98! Nice meeting you all yesterday! Thanks Strawberry_pear for showing us your flat also Just a side note, saw the ID who served you. It was the same person who served me also but I don't have confidence in that fellow. After sitting with him for 1+ hr going through all our requirements, he arranged a time for us to go meet up with him to review the plans and quotes and guess what, when we went back on the arranged time, he was not there and his colleague called him up and he couldn't even remember who we were. He has completely forgotten all about us in a matter of 1 wk. Hope he doesn't do that to you also Till we meet up again!

Hi Neighbours, today we went to see some 5 rm houses under renovation in blk C. At first cannot really visualise how small the rooms were. Our ID kept telling us that there will not be enough walking space if we were to put a King size bed in our master bedroom and still do a built in wardrobe there. After seeing it in the flesh, we realise that it is really very very small... Dunno how HDB plan one... make the rooms so small... put 1 bed inside cannot do anything else already... The bedroom beside the hall is even worst! so small and it is curved somemore... It is back to the drawing blocks again now...
-
Me and my wife were walking pass blk C yesterday and to our amazement, a flat at the 5th floor already had their curtains fixed! Curtains are normally the last to go up which means they may have already moved in... Wonder what they did, maybe they did very minimal renovation...

Hi, can someone PM me Mr K's contact pls? What does K stand for? Kenneth? Thanks! -
I just visited an ID opposite our flats earlier on. They told me that they are using doing up 2 5 rm flats in blk C as show flats and they are starting the renovation works this Friday. Will take them about 4wks to finish. He invited me to view their workmanship when they are doing up the flat. This ID seems quite sincere and responsible instead of another ID also from opposite our flat who completely cannot make it. Arrange a meeting and he forgotten all about it! Wasn't even around. Make me and wife waste a trip there. Yingsan and Platonic1 can share your ID with me also please?

To all my neighbours of Blk 79A, I just received news from my wife who works in HDB that her colleague told her that they will only be giving out the keys of Blk 79A in March 2008! He told her that the contractor haven't even started tiling the toilets yet and 79A is a big blk. Blk C has only 4 units whereas blk A has 8 units double that of blk C! I think I have to change my target of shifting in to be in time for next year's xmas instead after all the renovation, etc... Blk C people are so fortunate, got chance to shift in by this year's xmas even! I can slowly take my time to search for an ID now.
