Aluminum to aluminum. Couple of the sliding windows jammed up, the ironmongeries also starting to drop off. The last straw - window films scaling & oxidising which gave the windows an unkempt look.. No choice, got to replace the windows & grilles then.

Hi Melaniessl Did you manage to engage Ah Keong's service? If so, would appreciate your sharing of his service. Thinking of getting him to install some LED ceiling lights. Called KS Lighting (now known as Singapore-Lighting) earlier as recommeded by some forumers here. Staff said will get back to me with quotes, but no return call yet. Thanks.

Finally found contractor for the metal works and painter. Will provide a review after works done. Now left the electrician... Appreciate recommendations of reliable & qualified ones. Need to engage the service urgently. Thanks.

Hi, intend to engage contractors directly instead of going thru ID company for carrying out the following works to my parents' flat: a) Replace gate to stainless steel b) Replace sliding windows & grilles to natural anodized c) Tidy cable trunking, & replace ceiling/ wall lights to LED d) Painting The flat is occupied while conducting the above works. Would appreciate advice as to the sequence of works & responsible contractors for each trade. Many thanks.

Replacement Of Sliding Windows For Hdb Flat (Advice Needed)
HSHome replied to HSHome's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Your new window grille powder-coated or anodized finish? I preferred the latter. PS Pl pm me your grille contractor's name & the costs of installation. -
Hi Intend to engage painter to conduct painting to my parents' flat (will be occupied during works). There are spalling concrete, plaster crack, nail holes in the flat. Will the painter conduct repair prior to the painting works? Would greatly appreciate advice as to which would be a better interior paint to adopt in terms of durability, coverage and price - Dulux All or Nippon Odour-less Premium All-in-1; and recommendations of responsible painter. Many thanks.

Hi Thinking of replacing the existing sliding windows to natural anodized ones (instead of powder-coated). Reasons being the window films have discoloured, making some parts of the window panes opague now; couple of the window panels can no longer be slided too (jammed up!). I'm currently exploring two options: 1) Total replacement - window panels & frames plus window grilles; or 2) Partial replacement - window panels only (with the existing natural anodized window frames and grilles retained). Would greatly appreciate advice as to which would be a better/ feasible option and recommendations of responsible licensed window contractor. Many thanks. PS My main concern here is the mess created after the replacement as I've quite abit of furnitures and no maid to clean up thereafter.
