Do you people know there were almost 50 resale transactions over the last 3 months in Segar alone? That's on top of the 40+ units sold by HDB. Wow! almost another 100 new neighbours

It came from the horses mouth....

Yeap, very serious, our houses are indeed gonna be quite dusty for the next 3 to 4 years. Then there will be renovations......

Just get a reliable contractor... Unfortunately you'll never really know how reliable till the job is in progress. Ask around your friends or relatives who have had this experience they should be able to recommend someone reliable or at least give some sound advise Anyway they are starting to build new HDBs just behing the Segar LRT, heard they will be ready in 3 to 4 years time

Don't know when segar is gonna become more 'popular' Hope they do something soon, even the R & R seems to be moving rather slowly... Was told it would start end June but they waited till closer the rainy season to begin work. Well as they say better late than never

How old is block 130 as compared to 181 and 183? Don't really know where these blocks are but know that age does matter

Can check with Mr. Ng Choon Joo, Senior Property Manager of the Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council. Heard he is the 'Man'. He can be contacted at 64167954

Saw something similar at Universal Union yesterday but did not notice the price. Will be popping over again the next few days. Don't think it cost that much. Will check again. Anyway universal Union is at 710 Geylang Road near Lorong 44

Your answer to point 1. The lighting company will not sort out your wirings for free. They will advise your to get an electrician. Your answer to point 2. Why not clean it yourself with ppowerful detergent or good bleach if it's not too dirty? Your answer to point 3. That I think you have to get a certified contractor. Try calling the town council or HDB area office? They usually have a list of contractors for everything. Your other alternative is to engage a contractor who will coordinate and match a workman to the various jobs needed. This however, will cost a little more but less hassle on your part. Your last alternative which is also the cheapest is to hire your own electrician, janitorial service company and window man. Lots of these in the yellow pages. Some forum members who DIY their own homes even include the names of these companies in their mails. Good luck

Uma's great, very on the ball and responsive. He did quite a bit to get my place in shape. Will check with a friend to see if he knows where you can get the hose you're talking about.

Yeap... rises from the sink by 2 to 3 feet. U-turns down and ends with a shower like contraption. Squeeze the shower and water comes splashing out.... can bathe your pets with it if you have one. Noticed the bulldozer behind the comm centre too. Area cordoned off seems too small for anything much. Maybe can ask Uma

That's probably about all, 1 piece set. ID said the max length for sofa should be no more than 2.2M sigh! Living room just too narrow....... Still hoping to come up with something innovative
-
Anyone living in 262 or 252 willing to share how you did your living ? Can't seem to fit a reasonable size sofa into the living area .... Sigh !

Thank you, think the precint will be, should become livelier soon with 'activities' Did they say where ?

Well from what I can see in the HDB website , the forested area left of the covered walkway to Fajar LRT and the empty land behind Segar LRT is tagged as 'Future High Rise Development' As for the 5 yearly maintanence works, that's what the guy from the Holland/Bukit Panjang Town council told me when I called in June, they even mentioned they were gonna repair the playground... Guess I need to 'enquire' with them again

Going thru the quotations now, plan to move in by end Sep.... hope more happens around the neighbourhood in the next 5 years. Don't know if the town council has started refurbishing, repairing and painting the blocks yet.. Last I was told in May was tender already awarded, contractor starting work end June
