Hi yattz, I understand that you will need a good contractor to refurbish your new home. I was worried that some contractor will ask me to pay more that what was stated in the contract when I had my three room resale flat renovated. However, my contractor company do not require you to fork out extra money if you need to mount something on the wall,especially the washroom. If you have the spare money , i would suggest you to find someone to custom made the wardrobe or cabinet so that it can be more lasting. Hi mr white knight, I just got my three room resale flat renovated and it was quite tedious to find a good quotation when I only have a budget to spend for this resale flat. You have to beware of the tiles quotation. If you want a good tiles, you probably need to spend $3-$3.50, unless you are going for those government tiles. Besides that, they will not actually bring you to the tiles shop to look at the different varieties that they have. My contractor was referred by my friend and he gave me a reasonable quotation, the best thing of all, i dont have to worry that the company will actually raise the quotation price in the mid of the whole renovation (this is only apply when you are not choosy with stuff and tell them in advance the things that you will need them to do for you). Besides the tiles, you can actually inspect the wood quality of your custom make furniture before you sign the contract with them. They have a in house carpentry workhouse for you to look at. Hi, the quotation was given to you by the contractor company was a bit expensive. I just had my house renovated, a 3 room resale flat and my contractor quote me a reasonable price which you could find it outside. If you are going to sign a contract with the firm outside, you will not be able to check the wood quality before you sign. My contractor has an in house carpentry workshop and i will be able to check the materials before signing the contract with them. I do not have to pay extra charges when i asked them to install some hangers on the wall in the toilet.
