  1. Hi, would really appreciate it if someone could send me Mr Ong or Mr Quek's contact number. Thanks!
  2. Hey Jeff, Sorry to hear that you have an unpleasant experience with them. True that they are VERY busy but its becoz they are so popular. Last time i had to wait almost a month to even meet Dave (who i requested for). Also, the lack or curt replies etc. I think a lot of ppl might be put off with that, but i wasn't. In the end, though they are so busy, once they agree to do your project, they commit fully to it, thus why they are so busy. The 50% thing he told me right from the start and also i read on the forums b4 i went so i knew. To me it is ok becoz if i dun trust my ID then i just dun want to work with them even with a lower deposit. It has been almost 3 years since they did up my home, all this while i have been very satisfied with the workmanship and durability of the things they did. Dave's words, though i did not agree at that time, i find are more and more true the longer i stay. I feel that getting along with your ID is a very important thing becoz of the communication to what your needs are etc. So if you don't feel comfortable, like DSC bro said, better to get someone else. Try not to let this get to you la, have a good reno bro!
  3. i'm not getting those water cooled ones...tried them already but as you said, they were useless. The one im thinking of getting uses R-410A coolant to make the air cooler. You can see it here.
  4. Ok its been quite a long time and after tons of research, im still back at square one. Seems like it needs the april heatwave to motivate me to continue this project...heh Will be buying 1 EPAC14j (14k BTU) to aircon my hall. As my hall is big, nearly 400sq ft, i'm going to partition the hall into half and modify my casement windows to fit the exhaust vent. They said though stated cooling size is 150 sq ft, it can go up to 180 sq ft. Don't think its enough though (mine is 200 sq ft) but im all out of options...the price didn't drop after all this time as well. Ill let you all know if it works...its seriously too hot now... Tried buying those water cooled ones turn it on full blast in front of me and its still too hot (even with ice box in).
  5. ok thanks, i'll go look for it. ya, i already lost 1 card...had to re-register all.
  6. COOL MAN! I also have psp and ps3 but never thought of getting the PS eye to hook up like this.. I like your solution to the 'not locking gate' issue, where you get your yale alarm from? How u know when a card can work with the lock or not...i know the UOB One card also can. Any other cards?
  7. power i paid about $600 incl. installation 3 months ago...dun have the cool remote function. so far im v.happy the lock, everyday i come home i feel good when i use - i still lock my metal gate but sometimes for 'short trips' out i just use the lock alone and dun bring keys (shiok feeling). still wondering abt the security issue of it all...dunno if really have to buy another lock for the gate
  8. hmmm lol i did go there but forgot to check out the aircon...will do so soon. I can't add another unit to my system 3 unless i upgrade the whole compressor to system 4 hai....in hindsight, should have done that all the way from the start during reno - but no idea the hall will be so hot. so im back to buying a portable aircon again... checked with aircon people and no way i can install those casement type aircon on my window so those options are out...only ones for me are the standing ones.
  9. hmm thanks for the heads up - i'll pop by to check it out later (i work nearby). I think may be a big problem for me as my windows are casement windows...dun see how they can mount it.
  10. thanks for sharing...together with you, everyone has been telling me bad things about these portable aircons exactly like how u said it. so i really don't want to get them anymore (unless really no choice). will talk to my aircon people and see if they can add another unit to my system 3 - the most i have to make sure i dun turn on all at one time.
  11. Im thinking of getting one as well...looking at the Eurpace EPAC 14J selling at $1k at Courts (website here). My living room is just too hot to stand and i can't install anymore compressors as I am in an old resale flat. Still researching and looking around, not sure if its powerful enough to cool my living room (5 rm flat)... Anyone have any experience with this?
  12. You can just go to their website contact page: http://www.intradesign.com.sg/contact.htm All of their numbers are there incl. mobile.
  13. ya last time my reno was much above my budget also...impt that u understand why the cost is like that so u can see if you are comfortable paying or some things u can do without. it was good that i can communicate well with my ID so i was sure about what i was getting...as long as you talk things out, things can be worked out one
  14. heehee, i also used Dave more than a year ago - glad to say that im still very happy with my place After 1 year, he still helps me out with stuff and is just as responsive as ever, v.gd after sales service.
  15. thanks for your input tingshen, i am now completely convinced not to even consider getting it locally and my faith in ebay has increased a lot haha, hansolo i like the way u think - i shall use that way of thinking too however im having some problems with actually buying the roomba - the 2 ppl i found on ebay ask to contact them should you want international delivery. I tried contacting one and was rejected coz my buyer rating is 0 and the other one never reply me :/ seems like we have quite a few people here all wanting to get one - is there some way we can consolidate or something like Gaara is suggesting?
  16. yo, not yet - i was approving my CC from paypal. not sure about amazon, never go see there - but will check it out. if i get from ebay, i'll buy from those powersellers with tons of good comments. azt18: u have experience buying many units?
  17. Tingshen is right, the model is NOT the 570 but rather the 560 ($988) and the 530 ($788). Had a very frank talk with the sales guy there and he did acknowledge the lower cost from the US. He say there is nothing he can do to throw in free stuff or discount even if i buy directly from them etc. So i asked him what was the good point of buying from them, he mentioned: Warranty, cheaper to buy spare parts, cheaper to send for repair, get updated on new products and special discounts for the new stuff as if you buy locally, you will be a 'member'. Just sharing what I found out, have decided to buy from ebay already.
  18. heh, sounds like you really do need one actually. I think you are right, cannot underestimate the importance of the lighthouse - coz that salesman keep telling me to get the lighthouse also. Actually the 535 is ok for me also lor, its more like whether you want the scheduler or not :/ i tink i go visit courts later again and see the actual machines one more time azt18 is selling an older model Roomba 4162 if you are interested you probably can email him. im actually still quite fearful of buying from overseas even though the price makes sense...hai~
  19. thanks for the info - its either a roomba or PS3 LOL so i think something more practical for now is good. been wanting one for very very long already - just that din know it was so much cheaper to buy from overseas. Not sure what model to get now, most probably i'll just get the 530 model which is about $200USD i think. why you keep hesitating?
  20. ah thanks for the info. will go check it out coz it sounds cool too yup, im pretty much decided already and will be buying this weekend. Already emailed you
  21. hmmm i went to google it and it LOOKS like it, perhaps I am mistaken as I was only looking closely at the 530. Er what is HSN btw?
  22. if im not wrong u still can bring it to the local distributor but will have to pay for the repair lor. dunno leh for wat i feel, the cost savings are very significant that you can even maybe buy 1 more roomba!
  23. been going through this thread. almost bought a roomba at courts yesterday..they were selling the 550 at $988 or something! luckily came back here to check first. anyway after reading through the thread, have decided to go on to ebay to get a 570 and then later use transformers (as i think its safer) to change the current. before i buy on ebay, anyone else want to join in the purchase or can i join in on anyone who is buying? thanks! quite scared to pay so much over the internet, but after reading all the posts, think i'm confident enough now to try.
  24. Completely agree! it has been said so many times already that u have to really be able to communicate well with your ID. cheers_cheers: gd luck for your completion, im sure dave won't let u down. i tink shld be ok to call him but just try not to call him on sundays (his only off day). sometimes i worry abt him sia, he really overwork himself macham zenixth: i believe everything can be discussed one, hope u dun compromise choosing a great company coz of this
  25. glad to hear, dave is the man! live in our house for about 1/2 year liao and no regrets - he still gives me good advice and help even after this long.
