In the end, they decided against staying with in-laws so they forfeit the flat. There is no grant given to those staying the parents as HDB has deemed the selling price is already discounted for first time buyers. I guess your chance now is to appeal to the MP because I think HDB take quite a hard stance to your situation.

what is the reason for listing your MIL as the occupier? if you dont remove her name, she cant buy another flat?

does it means your MIL has to sell her flat? I believe this is the same issue faced by Lynn (green) when they got the flat, in the end they let go of the flat because HDB refuse to let them remove their parents in law's names.

oh no, just read of your misfortunes msbean i hope things will be fine soon already renovation saps up all most of our energy, frankly why cant they do a proper job and not have so much complaints following after that.

yeah very lucky to get them as tenants as they even have a maid to clean up the house heh my direct neighbour havent even open their door when i handed over my keys, i dread to think the time when they start their renovation.

ms bean, my water pressure is low and the water flow is slow too, i m using storage heater, i observed tat when washing the flat but my tenant has yet to complain though (Mybe they know there is nothing I can do).

Dear all, Many thanks for your help and comments! Finally phase 1 is completed and I am going to pass my keys to my tenants next week. it is great to have met so many neighbours even before moving in! We will see you in 1 year time! heh my mom was jus complaining, at 6pm, the sun shine all the way thru to my main door while my kitchen get no light at all. she was like you can hang all your clothes in your living room, easier to dry than hanging out of the kitchen window... i guess it depend the how much of sunlight we are talking about? not when the whole unit feel like an oven at night after absorbing the whole day of sun
