  1. I was told by my FSM that 2013 is not a good year for renovation so she warned me must choose the right date and timing for 动土 before start any Reno. I think better play safe than sorry.. Just follow accordingly.
  2. Sorry to hear about your situation .. I understand that most ID/ contractors are very bz at this period of time coz all rushing for Handover before CNY. Hopefully your Contractor sort things out smoothly for you. Good luck

  4. Had our first appointment on 18/12 and now waiting for 2nd appointment on 5/2/2013!!!! So excited ! Met a few IDs/ contractors. Some are highly recommended in the forum.. But one never reply with quotation.. Another famous contractor's quotation is even higher than ID and due to his popularity in RT, he can't commence work on time. Some don't even answer or call back to meet up. Long stories which will not elaborate here... Being the lazy types, we hate going around meeting IDs repeating the same thing again and again. So far we are quite pleased with one ID.. Met up with them few times and even went up to the unit with our FSM, though we have not even sign anything with them. They are patient , provide practical ideas and useful tips. Can see he's really experienced unlike those typical well dressed ID who isn't experienced. He's humorous and able to do draw on the spot to show us. We have great chemistry with him and hopefully everything turn out well should we sign up with him ( most probably yes). Good luck to us and all who are doing Reno now!
  5. In oct We sold our premium D&B 5i unit in punggol 50k COV . 14th floor. Renovated unit. 7 yrs old .
  6. Is that considered 3rd gen EM? The layout looks like the ones we viewed at jelapang rd, though we can't remember if there's bomb shelter in the L1 room. I suppose u going to extend your living to the balcony for bigger space?

  17. I think with kids it's unavoidable haha.. Same goes to me who has a dog.my dog likes to bring all her toys out and play. End up the toys are all over the place. I vaccum and mop daily coz I'm quite a cleanliness freak. I'm not lazy in this area haha. Ah Lao said I use alot water
  18. The first time we viewed such layout was in Cck.. The agent told mine last offer 80k rejected.. Then few days later the agent said 90k rejected.. Somemore only 2nd floor facing MSCP. Then we saw same layout in tampines. Our offer rejected again and again. The unit is still selling now, asking for 150k COV and owner demands 2 mths extension. We gave up. notice bishan has quite many such layout.
  19. 850k a year ago? Then asking COV must be 200k or more? Were many units selling at that range then? One thing I like is the market, shops and kopitiam just right next to our blk. ( for lazy people like us). One thing I dislike is the parking. Lack of parking lots and mscp not nearby coz our current MSCP is just right below and linked to our blk. Convenient especially on rainy days and when we have alot stuff to carry.

Thanks so much for ideas..ya we definitely going keep the balcony..btw what is genkan? me very suaku ya utility area is a must for WM,dryer and those barang barang to keep them out of sight in open concept kitchen. Love your place which is clean, spacious,clutter free...btw just curious..does your place still look the same after a year? kekeke How u maintain it?
  21. Hi Kang Dang bro yes it's at st 22..opposite is Clover by the park / Bishan Park where we can walk our dog. According to the owner, he bought the small recess area. It's actually very small so I guess nothing much can be done there..maybe high shoe cabinet or something (if FSM permit)..will show pics after 1st appointment coz now still not rightful owner so not very nice to post here ..keke

There are ways to cut down budget..e.g avoid branded expensive furnitures coz you can change to new furnitures once the design is outdated, year end bonus (ho seh liao) or furnitures up lorry bopian must change. Cheap furnitures you throw also won't heartpain. Just need to find something you like. But for shower screens which gonna last for a long time and it probably won't cost you so much as some furnitures. I personally would go for it.
