wow.... so nice...

Coz mine is resale flat. and i am hacking everything away and redoing everything... including the windows and the toilets.. my kitchen cabinet total was 48ft (top and bottom and L-Shape, and cabinets to hide the rubbish chute) and it cost me $4400 (including 1 set of drawers and dish rack, but later, i took away the dish rack). The cabinet top was solid top of 18ft and cost me $900. u can take a look at my quotation at my T-Blog for the breakdown.

i am at my new place cleaning and fixing up furniture... no internet access there yet..

Fixing IKEA furniture was still ok, coz they are built in a way that is actually quite easy to understand how to fix it up. The hard part is doing it alone and when the need to bring the bookcase upright and move it to place... since doing alone, have to do slowly lor. adjustment and alignment is also difficult. took me quite some time to finish it. especially i got so many bookcase with doors... cleaning from the drillings and sawing is also tiring... tomorrow still need to continue. got 3 more small bookcase with doors not yet fix up, and also 2 more side table. and still need to buy four CD rack and 1 bedside table.... tiring....... have start unpacking yet somemore....

its usual to overshot wat u expected before... initially, i expected $25K, then after going around checking for quotations, and with the things i wanted to do, came up to $45K, then reduce some items to and came up to $40K... hahaha

die cast means they are formed from a die (a mould) and not cut to shape by machinery. aluminium are softer. and dun have those shining looks. aluminium are dull in colour. hmm... die cast chrome... i believe maybe is die cast steel or iron. and then chrome is applied to it. it is stronger, but the chrome may came off or flak off later...

Today, finished installing all the lightings for the display cabinets in the living room. as well as putting up the glass doors for the cabinets. Have yet to do the alignment, coz quite late oredi. So tomorrow will have to do the alignment. Going to take quite some time to do, coz got total 6 door to align. with lights on. the transformer and the extension cord on top of the cabinets. Will be using some of my display stuffs to block it from view. The on/off for the lightings are not any of the above switches. instead the swtich is together with the rest of the lighting swtich for the living room. Ask my contractor to do a double socket at that place with a control switch elsewhere. Also, installed the glass door for the bookcase in study room. The rest of the doors are suppose to be like the first one with a black board behind. Wanted to put it in, but after putting the first cupboard in, found that the glass are dirty and need cleaning first. so decide no to put up the black cupboard first. Only the center 2 bookcase will have glass doors. The halogen light is not that difficult to mount. only 2 screws per light.

Hi, i took a long method as i do not use imageshack, thus dunno whether it can generate the image tag by itself or does it show the actual url of the pic. (maybe any other forumer who use imageshack can share how to). i use photobucket.com the url u used is dynamic url, under PHP coding. eg.. h**p://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=balcony1ow1.jpg the underline portion will tell imageshack to search its database and find the pic name balcony1ow1.jpg. this url will not work in the image tag of the forum. u will need to look for the actual url of the pic, like the below eg. h**p://img252.imageshack.us/img252/9302/balcony1ow1.jpg and put it inside the image tag eg. [img=http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/9302/balcony1ow1.jpg] to create link to the image, eg [url=http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=balcony1ow1.jpg][img=http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/9302/balcony1ow1.jpg][/url] i got the actual url by right clicking on the image and then select properties, and look for the image location and copied the actual url. there maybe easier method from imageshack, so u may need to find out from the imageshack website itself.

The 4 bookcases that i fixed up today. Have yet to fix up the doors for the 2 bookcase in the middle. As the length of the 4 bookcase overshot abit, i saw the study table abit so that bookcase "eat" abit into the study table. Took me quite some time to saw it as i dun have a big saw. Only a small saw. This is the halogen light i got from IKEA. Fixed them to the display shelves in the living room. have yet to tidy the cable on top. not actually DIY. coz the furniture are not made by me.. i just fix them up only. can only said half DIY.

u can put some of ur CPF money into those low risk investment, and then later put everything back into ur CPF lor...

After 1st appt, about 3-5day working day later, u should receive a letter from HDB informing u that the sales was approved in principal. On the 1st appt itself, u will also need to arrange with the seller and agree on the date for the 2nd appt and inform the HDB Resale Officer liao. My agent told me before that the 2nd appt must be before 8 weeks from the 1st appt. 2 to 3 weeks before ur 2nd appt, HDB will send u and the seller a letter to confirm the date and also inform u of the time. 2nd appt is always in the afternoon ard 2pm onwards. Also, before the 2nd appt, u are suppose to discharge any additional cash amount to the HDB so that the HDB can pay the money to the seller on the 2nd appt. But if u are using bank loan, then u should be using private lawyer, then most of the stuffs, the lawyer will let u know lor. As for the transaction not going thru, hmmm... maybe the seller is a bankrupt and have not got any approval to sell the house? Or one of the co-owner do not want to sell?

hmmm... i not very sure about the auspicious dates, u may need to check with FSM or use those Tong Shu to see.. Actually, i haven't "officially" move in yet... just going there every day to fix up furnitures and do some unpacking... i am "officially" shifting in on 9th Aug, and can only reach the new house after 11am. dun ask me why, my dad checked the dates for me... Ur reno also looking good. from the pics, u have made the kitchen sink above the rubbish chute. i moved my sink from there, coz i dun like to squat down to throw the rubbish.. kekeke

Yup.. fixing all by myself... more fun and satisfaction this way. today fixed up 4 bookcases from IKEA also.. but have to do some modification to be able to fit into the area i wanted to. Also starting to install some lightings for the bookcase. Will post the pics later.

PUB is $100 deposit and it is due when they send u the first bill. u can do it at HDB hub or at PUB outlet also... as for S&C, 4 room - $49, 5 room - $60.50 (that is my first payment)

Today, spent the day fixing up the drawer closet for MBR and also the table in my study room. also manage to unpack the clothings and put them in the wardrobe. Really tiring.

i went to IKEA Alexandra on friday nite to buy some more of the Praktisk Protector. Can't remember exact location where i got it. Think is some big metal big along the showroom.
