-
bought our lights and installed by the electrician... living room dining & dry kitchen master bedroom wardrobe & study this is the PLC that we got...it's the standard square type
-
the plumber came to install the shower mixers, WCs and the storage heater. at least now it doesn't stink so much... mixers from Hoe Kee, WCs from SSC and heater is from Best Ceramic in Toh Guan

thanks for your compliments. so in the end did u conceal your sewage pipes? i hope my drainage don't get choked cos my neighbour downstairs also concealed their sewage pipes...if that happens, it'll be a real mess...
-
first coat of paint is up...one section of the wall is of a darker shade while rest of the house is some white. can't really remember the colour names...very poor memory for such things colours appear lighter in the photos
-
thanks for your kind comments. i suppose most will agree it's difficult to find a balance between aesthetic and practicality. it's all about mitigating risks. the aircon trunking are not concealed inside the bedrooms while the aircons have been placed to minimise the distance of drainage piping. we also try not to scrimp on the insulation. the main worry i have is the risk of leakage from the toilet upstairs. that is beyond anybody's control and we'll just have to pray hard that nothing happens

yeah its meant for small bottles...the space's quite limited so we're considering whether to install a separate rack to store the bigger bottles here's a close up look thanks. it's called calcium silicate, not wood. some kind of plastering material to be covered by wall tiles eventually this photo was taken before all the wall tiles were laid

toilets are finally done while waiting for the screeding to dry, the whole area is being tidled and prep for painting. with all the debris gone, the place look so much better...
-
yeah we're going for open concept and island, dining table next to island. it's more like 5 chairs since 1 side of the table will be against the island
-
thanks...we feel quite lucky to be able to get such a regular layout. the wet kitchen area is quite small for cooking and laundry, i must admit. we'll just have to make do with it since we have decided to split the kitchen into 2 segments. at least now we can have an open concept and island which was what i always wanted. that's a consolation i suppose

time for lights...recommended from the ID PLC - 28 pieces florescent - 24 piceces one fancy light for dining normal "hamburger" lights for HHS, bedroom 3, bathrooms and wet kitchen that's a lot of lights!!!

thanks...my objective is to keep a chronological record of every stage of the reno so that next time i can refer back...it's kinda interesting as this is my first time maintaining a blog the trunking is huge by normal standards? i didn't think too much of that as i don't really know what's the norm. basically it's all the gas pipes from the 2 bedrooms and the dining area. well at least they are somewhat concealed by the false ceiling. i do have the trunking exposed across the master bedroom though...
-
hopefully when the screeding dries i won't have uneveness...i suppose it's a matter of luck how the screeding turns out...fingers are firmly crossed

PUB came along and installed the gas piping...

hi is your countertop pure black or does it have some silver spots on them? thanks.
-
thanks, i guess those workers did a fairly decent job...credit to them... while the screeding was in progess, work went on as usual in the bathrooms concealing the fat sewage pipes in the common bathroom concealing the shower pipes...pipes were punched through the wall from the common bathroom
-
enough on the ceiling...after a long wait, HDB finally decided to send their screeding team. what a horribly messy day it was. all the trash and equipment and materials in the bedrooms got moved out into the living room. the wet weather didn't make it any much better. that's it...3 weeks of lag time before parquet can be laid...will use this time to finalise on the lights, paint colours, carpentry and accessories
