Hahahaha That what vinxxxx blog can be trusted meh....it's a joke....especially the so call recommended ID.... Remember no free lunch, how can no gain right from it right? -
Hi LfeStyle, aka Ming Hi, Saw your PM in TCS. Somehow cannot PM from there. Cannot PM you here too. Just some of my views on the COE. No critical analysis unless the MafScientist. So Are you planning to book any car soon? Seriously I do feel the next 1 to 2 bids is the best time. Cheers
-
Bidding ended and Kah Motor called. Cat B COE at $13289 Got my COE and since the rebate is at $16k, got $2711 cash rebate to offset car price, so revised car price is $78089 I suppose a pretty good deal for Civic 2.0 Auto, hmm about the same price as my current ah pek ride. Cheers

Stream a good choice...I think same engine K20, I chose the 2.0 Civic not the 1.8 for the engine as one main factor, k20 is the JDM accord engine and Type R engine too but of course Type R is tuned to the max with I think 225HP as compared to 155HP for the 2.0 Civic sedan. You have kids or plan to have more than 1 kid then Stream will be a better choice, for me, no more adding kid.... Hmm half an hour more will know whether I will secure the COE. Cheers

Thanks for the Info. I have seen the Accord and test drive it also...dont really like it, can't articulate clearly though and its Thai made, so drop the option. The Ford....I don;t have good impression of American motor...so THe Mazda...look very good indeed, but I remember the Mazda value issue a few of my colleagues are experiencing now....the value of the car just drop tremendously, I mean look at the initial price of Mazda 6 and now...easily more than $10k if not close to $15k cheaper by authorized agent. My colleague one has a Mazda 3 2yrs+ bought at 76k slightly cheaper than mine (4+ yrs) but paper value and body is lower than mine, of course the COE is not the same granted, but new car from agent is really bad...they not doing much to up hold the value...sigh. I had tested the Audi A3 sporthatch and VW GT Sport and was so close to signing the VW when I saw a guy complaining to service advisor on all the problems he faced witht he GT sport and VW can;t solve despite numerous visits....heng ah! conti turbo charge engine....if unlucky get a problem one that is! For Conti Car, there is no doubt on the quality, technology, handling but reliability wise I have much doubt and really over priced especially after travelling to so many countries, the price i pay for my current ah pek car can get BMW 523 ...sigh...finally I booked a civic 2.0, a compromise but not too bad, can mod some more and Honda cars value in the open market and the agent is holding well, unlike mazda and also nissan...look at the nissan sunny those who bought about 4 yrs ago, its a disaster! What is your ride now? what you have in mind? Oh just to add, the oil price thing...its info from my colleague working in the trading dept, so me better heal his advice. Cheers

Hi, Happy New Year (a bit late though). Travelled.... With the inevitable death of HD-DVD, I finally commit to Blu-Ray and added a PS3 to my entertainment equipment. Why PS3? It is the only Blu-Ray that is future proof for Blu-Ray Profile 2.0 (currently Profile 1.1), hardware wise. Now I have 1080P from source to display...very nice indeed. Primary intend is for watching movie. Gaming is secondary. But had played Need For Speed Pro Street....very nice. Just a question to gamers here in this forum. Where is the best place to get PS3 games, selection and price wise. Hmmm.... Just a heads up. The current oil price you guys are experiencing at pump station is using crude traded around US$90...those traded at much higher price are not use yet, so expect a increase in price, pretty substantial one in coming months. With the so-called new transport masterplan....do consider with care if buying car. I had dropped the idea of getting a "high-end" / conti car and stick with a Jap car, though I was so near in signing the paper for a conti car. Cheers

A pleasure posting here and thanks to those who had share their views or provide info. Wish everyone a happy 2008 and all the best to your renovation and furnishing. Cheers

I suppose you mean the surround speakers, the Domus Wall. Its 1 k plus think about 1.3 to 1.4 I got from High Research not Adelphi, High Research is the agent/distributor in Singapore for SF. For the Coffee Table it is from SoHome in Furniture Mall I think its about 600+, its actually a 2 piece and can be separately used or arranged there are studs (non-Slip) and you can place it vertically or like me horizontally, meaning higher or lower placement by flipping it. The system is sounding better and better, so happy. I bought a Hugo LPCD45 disc, sound super. And of course watching old movies disc, just bought the Priates of the Caribean 3 disc set, very enjoyable. Cheers

Most impt is the main left and right speakers, length most use 3m pair, meaning 3m each side, what and price really depends there are too many to choose from depends on liking, system setup and budget of course. Center if possible use the same surround depends on surround location, get maybe 3 to 4 dollars per meter is sufficient. Subwoofer uses analog interconnect not speaker cable unless your is a passive which i doubt so, if active, meaning the woofer has its own amplifier built in and need power supply, interconnect is needed and the length a gain depends on the location. hope that helps For me, I am using monster for surround, price range is 3 to 4 dollar per meter can;t remember the model for center I am using a old cable nodorst flatline and for front I am using a new pair of van der hul cable 3 m pair is $400. sub i am using audioquest sub cable i think about 3 to 4 m if i am not wrong Cheers

Hmm, The ID is my friend's family biz, own by her brothers, known her for more than 14 years, happen to meet her in on eof the reno show or something when I was shopping for ID. The design like I said is 90% my own idea and the person assigned to me is kind of cherry pick by my friend. Why am i saying all this is that I am afriad whoever I recommend may not get the same kind of treatment as me due to my long time friendship, not only with me but she knows my late wife as well, we were actually ex colleagues. As such I feel that it better not to recommend, but you can spot their advert regularly in newspaper on Saturday and have lucky draw for a car. and as always, its the person you worked with not really the company in most cases. Cheers Today arranged for delivery for: 1. Sofa, dining tables and chairs, armchairs 2. Bought a water feature from fukai, a small one black man-made stone with LED light 3. projector, screen and AV amp 4. Sonus Faber speakers. All will be in on the 7th next Friday After which will left 1. Wall shelves and coffee from SoHome 2. washing machine (need to wait till move in as I am trading in my old Ariston for the new one for extra $100 off) Cheers

Hi, Today went up again, so took some photos again, didn't expect to go up that soon again, anyway, kitchen done, cabinet door fixed, doors fixed except main door lock set. Kitchen done, waiting for citygas to hook up the hob (this Sat) The sink area Opposite side of the hob & hood, will have fridge near the door side and washing machine near the toilet entrance side Viewing towards hall from kitchen, store is on the left, this time with cabinet doors up. The similar cabinet at the main entrance side, actually the door is alternate, one panel gloss and one panel ribbed, but pic can;t see clearly The other end of the entrance side cabinet, is drawers and shelves The cabinet door handles, flush type, from this pic can see the difference of the door Metal art piece at dining area, will match the stainless steel table frame and chair legs, got it from Parkmall, still wrapped up, need to see with lights and will have difference effect on the metal surface, again photo can't show clear enough More pic.... This is one of my existing metal art piece, hang in MBR wall as my MBR bed will be bronze color, so this is kind of close color match i hope The MB room doors, same for store and common bedroom Main door, without lock set yet. the settee not done yet. My bedside reading light My rain shower...water abit weak but my daughter insist on having....sigh Lastly for this update, the integrated Amp i will be having, Musical Fidelity A5 Hope you guys like the pics Cheers

Hi guys, Took some pictures here it goes, so far all turn out to be very close to my design 95% i must say with some practical issues so need changes but otherwise i should say its all my design. The Hall with the red wall to make the place dim, that is where my projector screen will be mounted Another view of the hall from entrance Yet another view from hall entrance MBR No bed and wardrobe yet, the aircon seal is an eye sore but no choice will have a table to block My daugther's room, she chose the colors, i just take it no input from me, turn out quite nice actually, the super low ceiling, that's concrete as its common corridor up there 11th floor kind of odd but looks ok after a while my tiny little MBR toilet, really small Tiny common toilet almost the same as MBR The basin close up, square square...just like me Sliding door for kitchen The railing for the sliding door Going to ask to have frosted tape for the top and perhaps a bit on the center and bottom of the door. The top one is mostly for the blocking of laundry hanging in the kitchen and the center and bottom for safety visual aid to note a glass door is there. That's all for now. Carpentry for kitchen still doing should complete in a few days with solid top, hall cabinets, hifi console, the missing MBR grilles, Doors, Gates and other accessories and finally will be the completion of electrical socket as some will be conceal in carpentry...touch up and done. MBR will be done by another company and will be installing on 23rd. And that's it....will have more pics once all are installed before delivery or most items and one more when all are delivered and arranged but before move in, should be around a month time for the final update Cheers
