Hahah yah my inlaws oso say children will eat/drink more when there is competition. My niece used to drink milk and hardly eat oso...then the younger brother came along and she has been eating soo much she is actually plump now. But the moment she is alone without him around, she is back to her old self Ohhh there was a time my son had very bad diarrhoea...the nurse recommended Isomil soy formula, milk-free and lactose-free. Its much cheaper than Pediasure...but i think must hv tasted v bad...cos my son puked...as usual. My hubby...he can stand the milk powder...but he cant stand the soy formula either

Hi dizzy, Yah u r right! He is too lazy to chew. Just wan the food to melt in the mouth and swallow, so he sieve out all those food that cant be swallowed. Oh dear, your son oso like that? So it was a good decision putting him in childcare. Glad to hear this...at least got some hope for my son. This is the 3rd month there, with the teacher's prodding, he got eat some food, but doesn't seem to have much progress at home though. Seems like really have to be patient... Ohhh I did think of trying fresh milk...but then thought duno what age to introduce it. Hmmm so can give it a try then. I tried giving him vitagen...but he drank only half of it, din really like the taste. As for soya milk...when he sees it, he run away! He thought it was milk OMG! Your son sooo young that time din drink milk?? I really duno how u can manage it man. Wah lucky my son still got drink milk even though less than normal. If not, i pengsan liao...cos he totally reject solid food. The first time fed him cereal...he cry like its so torturing and puked out everything. Yah i oso noticed that its easier to feed them while they r sleeping. A few months ago, he had fever and was drinking very little. I resorted to waking up during the nite and feed him...gradually he managed to down around 200ml milk during midnite feedings. I hv been practising this till now...but im getting v tired liao...too much disrupted sleep on a daily basis until nowadays i get sick quite frequent oso. If not becos he underweight, i wont bother to wake up in the night to feed him. O o my hubby bought 2 packs of milk oso heart pain pain...if he bought 8 tins and our son reject milk Hmmm looks like we should stock up moderately and not go overboard. Haha lucky u mentioned this...cos we oso used to stock up around 4-5 tins everytime we cross over to jb Heee

Hi, Someone told me that its not good to have spotlights with 3 bulbs and ceiling fan with 3 bulbs attached to it-not good for career/business. Also my mum heard from a tv program that wall lights with 2 bulbs are not good for health. I'm not sure if all these are true. I mean...these lightings are so common nowadays. Anyone has any idea about this? Are there any other types of lights to avoid? Or maybe there is a certain 'number' to adhere to? Thks

Hi Mr Chong, We plan to place our mattress (no bedframe) on a raised platform on the parquet floor in between 2 windows. Can we sleep with our head under one window (close and cover the window with curtain) while our legs pointed at another window (close the window, but not cover it with curtain to let in some light)? Is this sleeping position ok? Or legs must never point towards any window, but if we cover this window with curtain, would it be fine? If we were to change our sleeping position in such a way that our head is pointing to the wall with no windows, our legs would point towards the built-in wardrobe doors. Is this fine? Is it akin to legs pointing to the bedroom door which I heard is a no-no (sorry I’m confused)? Do we need to put a screen in between the mattress and the wardrobe? But then the screen would have foldable parts which would point towards the bed…not sure if this is fine either…is it a poison arrow? There’s a built-in display shelf (its just a long piece of board affixed to the wall with no drawers) located near our head when we sleep. Does it look like a beam near our heads when we sleep? But if we do not intend to sleep with our heads directly below the shelf, we sleep a few inches away from the shelf, is it fine? Does this also means that we don’t have any solid wall backing as our mattress will be a feet or more away from the wall? Is this bad since we do not have any headboard as well? Would you recommend us to remove that shelf, so that our mattress can be positioned next to the wall and have some form of solid wall backing? Would appreciate your advice. Thks.

No leh, never heard of the cheese cube. Sounds good oso...got calcium. I wanted to try out some (supposedly) healthy snacks like those Pigeon fish crackers and Gerber sweet potato/banana crackers or something like that, but it was so lightweight and expensive, so didn't try Hahah yah nowonder he doesn't put on weight...not eating much + active some more. Oh yah...my son oso doesn't sleep much...I see most children here very chubby and big sized...i been wondering what is their secret formula. Sighhh...my son's 150ml can last him up to 3 hrs or so. Yaho i should try feed him more frequently and give him more stuff to eat every now and then. He eats really very slow...he can hold the biscuit for half hour and still hvnt finish! Until the biscuit oso soft liao. His bite size...gosh...probably the size of a 5 cent coin. Recently for a few days he loved to eat the raisin bread. But of late, he only eat the raisin and didn't want the bread at all. I noticed their preference for food can change very drastically, one day they like it, the next day they totally dun want it Oh...didn't know can get samples. Thks for yr list! U cant believe it...we were sooo ambitious...bought 2 packs of 700g enfagrow some more. Now my hubby say he's the one gona 'grow' instead of the boy (hahaha he resorted to using the milk for his coffee)...he says their milk taste horrible...lucky i cant take milk

Hi! He is 2 yrs 5 mths old. Actually at first we didn't give him any chocolate milk. Then my sister-in-law suggested to give him cos he is already a very picky eater, so that maybe he'll like the taste and drink more milk. We really don't know what to do with him...he drinks very little milk...about 150ml milk each time, around 2-4 times a day depending on his mood. Amazingly when he is half asleep...he can actually finish 200-230ml milk. He doesn't eat much either...biscuits (he loves this, but i don't give him too much cos he doesn't like to drink water), sometimes when he is in good eating mood - he eats porridge bought from food court (doesn't eat the porridge that we cook...in fact he kinda choked and puked), spaghetti, carrot soup, bread, tofu. He doesn't eat meat, vege other than carrot, not even fruits except banana. He is very small size and skinny for his age, weighs abt 10kg only. But he is very active. He hardly sits around, always running and standing. Previously his nanny feeds him porridge every day (when he choke, she put the porridge in the blender and fed him). Recently we decided to put him into childcare centre to hopefully expose him to different types of food and mix with other children, hopefully he eat more. But according to the teacher, he just loves to keep the food in his mouth and has to be reminded to chew and swallow the food. Wonder what's wrong with him? He doesn't even eat watermelon and other soft fruits. So anyway that's why we try to give him more milk cos he doesn't eat well. Seen a few doctors as well, gave him vitamin...doc told us as long as the child is healthy and active its ok...but we keep telling the doc that he hasn't put on much weight...doc replied yeah, he is small for his age, but as long as he drinks milk...its supposed to be fine. Children's eating habits will get adjusted after a few years?? Recently he had a bout of diarrhea for a week (really nightmare!), i went looking for pediasure cos i heard that its lactose-free. Met the sales lady who introduced me to enfagrow. said enfagrow supposed to help with immunity as well. Thought tis would be good, cos when he has cough it seems ages, almost 3-4 wks before he gets well. So i got interested and wanted to give it a try lor. That's why thought wana change brand...but didn't expect it to be sooo difficult Sighhh...my son is terrible. He is 2 yrs 5 mths old. Doesn't drink much milk. There was a few days when he's younger that he suddenly wanted more milk...we were sooo happy...but then it lasted only a few days and he was back to 150ml...stuck at this level even now when he is 2+.

the 2nd appointment date is 25 jul. dun dare change...scared delay til duno when... yah i oso been thinking why the seller's seller problem become our problem oso...at first thot goodwill mah, let them stay a few more days. but worry abt possible problems...and wana do reno some more. hey yr suggestion is good leh. let the seller move in to their seller's place. its their problem anyway. like u said...for a few days only wat... thks!
-
ohhh...i jus remembered sth else. i was looking for contractors to do minor reno like changing the 2 toilet floors, do a divider in the living area etc. but now im faced with the problem of my seller cant move out, they verbally agree move out on 28 jul and i do the 2nd inspection on 29 jul. if i managed to find a contractor to start work on a certain date after 28 jul and finish b4 the 7th mth...but the seller still cant move out yet...wht m i to do?? can i move in, and then do the reno only after the 7th mth? but then the contractor would hv scheduled his work and he might not hv time for me til later...and it will be terrible leh staying in the hse with all our stuff and the stuff for the reno going on as well! and i got a toddler who'll play with anythg in sight hmmm on 2nd thot...if the seller really cant move out by 28 jul...we better stop being nice and better make some reports to move them out of our hse so that our plans wont b disrupted? we better make them give us a written commitment to move out by 28 jul as evidence? hmmm any compensations for us?? any suggestions? jus trying to think of worse scenarios cos so far every stage of our purchase oso got hiccups and delays. thks!

scoria76, tinkle...hope u all coping well anyone can pls gimme some advice? im facing a similar problem except im the buyer and my seller wana extend their stay to a few days after the 2nd appointmt. im in a dilemma now. the problem oso my seller's seller cant move out b4 the 2nd appointmt date cos her new rented place can only commence a few days after our 2nd appointmt. so this has chain effect affecting my seller who cant move out. at the time when we sought early completion (6 wks), both the sellers oso agreed and confirmed that they got alternative plans of moving out b4 the 2nd appointmt. in fact, my seller was trying to pursue 4 wks early completion some more. now, after the date of 2nd appointmt is given, both parties oso cant adhere to it. the agent (the seller's agent, we dun hv an agent) told us to inspect the hse once b4 the 2nd appointmnt, he'll collect the keys on our behalf on the day of the 2nd appointmt and then hand it back to our seller since they r stil staying there. then after they move out a few days later, we do a 2nd inspection of the hse and they'll handover the keys to us. is this allowed? will we get in trouble for anything or wht problems/issues might we face or need to beware of? i read abt the harbouring of illegal immigrants. scareee leh. should we make a written agreement allowing them an extended stay til a specified date by which time they hv to move out? does this help us in any way? or wht else can we do? wht if the 1st inspection (with all the seller's stuff in the hse) was ok, but during the 2nd inspection which is days after the 2nd appmt, if we found sth not right, can the findings during the 2nd inspection be used to make claims when in fact we r the owners oredi? according to the agent, can wor...but tis agent has alwys say everythg oso ok and made plenty of empty promises, but in the end nothing has turned out in our favour. the sellers supposed to terminate all their utilities b4 the 2nd appointmt, right? so after 2nd appointmt, do we hv to register with the relevant authorities for utilities or is it automatic with the change of ownership? anyone can advise me pls? actually we dun mind helping them...but jus hope we dun face any complications or problems as a result of it. thks!

Hi espresso, Does the toilet floor need some ‘drying or airing’ period b4 cementing/re-tiling/etc? If so, how long is it? So its really possible to complete hacking and tiling toilet floors in 3 days? Sorrieee mine is 5 room resale flat. A bit out of the topic but since u did the toilets, jus wanted to ask for advice. A contractor that I called needed 2-3 wks to complete the toilet floors as well as some minor reno that includes doing a divider, install grille **** area window and change a bedroom sliding door to one that is lockable. When I mentioned that I could only spare a wk or less for the reno, he say can oso. So im not sure if it can be done without compromising quality and workmanship. I mean if it cant be done, then I wont bother doing the toilets since I wana move in b4 7th mth. Im getting the keys only end jul. Can advise me? I forgot to mention to him that the MBR toilet already has a shower screen and vanity top. Does this affect the floor tiling in anyway? Will it result in additional costs? Anyone has reasonable, reliable contractors who did a good job for the toilets in a wk or less, pls pm me the contact details. Thks so much! Hi jaslyn2, How long did it take to complete reno of yr 2 toilets? The price includes floor tiles? What type of tiles did you use and how much does it cost per tile? Is it non-slippery? What is the size? Do u hv pictures of yr toilets to share? I am thinking of hacking and tiling only the floors of our 2 toilets. Thks!

hihi! i jus saw their ad over the wkend and bought a L-shaped fabric sofa. thot it was a real bargain at $699 exclude gst. it comes with 2 small cushions FOC. they need 1 mth...so will deliver to us by 4 aug. duno ok or not leh...they use high density foam. but ours dun hv pocket spring. after we bought the fabric sofa...my mum keep nagging me...very mah fen and costly to wash the fabric. shld hv bought leather sofa instead. but i felt v uncomfortable and 'sticky' lying on her leather sofa...so we chose fabric instead. so hv u bought oredi? i'll email u the picture of the sofa we bought. we used a combination of dark brown and beige colour. since our floor is parquet, the salesman suggested the base be beige, while the seat is dark brown. the part where we lean our back is beige, while the headrest is dark brown. duno if turn out nice or not leh
