    not too sure but are you able to hack the walls for new HDB BTO flat? read somewhere that you cant hack any walls for the first few years if im not wrong...

    always believe that location is the most important - with good location your home price should be quite defensive as both an asset and an investment.. i.e. in good times can sell for capital appreciation while in bad times can still rent out for decent rental yield..

    Yup i was concerned with the greasiness from cooking in an open concept kitchen as I've read about from others' experiences. I will only be starting my reno probably 4th quarter this year too and am currently exploring an "open concept" kitchen by knocking the wall between the kitchen and the living room.. Will probably be installing top hung glass sliding doors to keep out the fumes but at the same time maintain the feel of an open concept kitchen. At the same time we'll be able to air condition our living room without it escaping to the kitchen too! Haha. That said, it's not cheap at all! Enquired a few places and it should cost anything from 2k+ to 3k+ depending on the source/quality etc... Maybe it's sth you can consider too. Anyway, I guess most importantly is that your husband doesnt mind cleaning up that should solve all your greasy problems!

Would like to check with you the rough cost to plaster the whole house 60sqm as our place is original condition and the walls are in horrible shape.     Hi Tiler Seng, please advise on a quote on plastering the whole house for 3I HDB Resale, 60 sqm. The house is in original condition hence we definitely need to plaster the walls to make them nice and smooth again..
