yahoo, really leh..found the layout of my hse a bit weird..mayb they nvr take into consideration a more user-friendly layout..now i also end up thinking hard where to put the shower heads for the toliets due to the layout.. karen..so true leh..i was quite uptight abt the bed thing..eventually will think too much or think too hard.. by the end of the day, it could tt cauisng all the arguments?...so thot of jus relax...stay at ease & spend the efforts else where?... thks mace for the idea.. u know actually there are so so so many fs tips ard leh...for instance, my buddy fs geomancer told her where to place still water/moving water & wind chime in the house..and a bowlful of colourful crystals + where to place a miniature chicken statue to stop domestic arguments...wow...alot alot alot of rules... yet the miniature chicken statue does not work for all...??.. ok guys, i will forget abt fs then...but still will do something abt the cai wei...hahaha...perhaps check f/h & my bazi..see who's afraid of fire & take some precaution..jus to make myself feel better..

yahoo/mace, actually i knew these pointers abt fs for the bed...some fs pointers like bed cannt be under beam, bed cannt face the door/mirror i hav heard abt it...but even without the false ceilings, also quite difficult to position the bed.. coz if i place the bed at where the wardrobe is currently(which is at the other side of the wall, facing the stretch of windows), i would hav no space for the wardrobe.. ...i'm more concerned abt bed under the beam coz one of the impact tt i hav heard of is frequent arguments for couples... !! so mayb now wat i can do is not to think too much, spend more efforts to nurture a lasting relationship... rather than gan cheong everyday? i even thot of putting the bed against the wall but sleep the other way round? no use coz both heads would be exposed to the door... my mum told me the most impt thing is tt we feel at ease the moment we enter the house? mace, still appreciate your help in lookin at my floorplan..thanks..

Point 1 & 3 already cannot avoid Point 4 light at MBR passage is done. Missed otu in the floorplan Point 2: The kitchen is still enclosed totally leh...jus that walls turned into glass(top to bottom)...& still have door at the entrance of the kitchen. (keep my fingers crossd that fire enhance us).. else bottomline...i will forget abt fs...haha...the red dot indicates cai wei? thanks alot anyway mace...

as far as i remember...not much complaints other than noisy for the vucuum..fren did mention in fact it's quite clean.. haha..ya mus get clock...F/MIL said mus get coz nobody will gives us clock one lo...no good... my carpentry almost done!!...came in on wed..fri shld be all done up.. now left only touch up the paintings + last round of lights/bathrm accessories installation yes yes... ...so excited leh... gingar..ur blk is the childcare blk? tt's y so noisy? smoochies..no choice..we mus try b understanding..we also bing bong biang when we were renovating mah...hahaha...

hah..i heard abt this robot vacuum also..my fren owns one..bad point abt it is too noisy..according to fren.. quite clean & useful.. wow..takes so long to activate for cable tv & internet ah..then mus take note..coz my parents' hse..got activated almost immediately..like say abt 2days as far as i remember?..muz take really take note..else no tv, no internet cannt make it leh..haha..

gingar..so ex for the blinds??normal pricing?..i'm going to get quotations for curtains also..frens gave me two lobang..said cheap..and i saw their curtains..nice...think abt 1k for balcony full height two layers(inclusive of day curtains) curtains, blackout curatins for MBR and 1 layer curtains for two other bedrooms...another lobang think is 600 bucks for living room & 3 bedrooms curtains..but all 1 layer curtains...i think quite cheap also...will go get quotations from them.. btw..how long it takes to get the cable tv activated?i'm still considering to get starhub or singtel plan for internet access...

hi gals, my place also almost done..now left only installations of some lightings & carpentry...then done...the toilet accessories also...coz ID waiting for us to b ard so tt can verify where exactly we want the toilet racks n others to be... yupz...my haulage not in the contract...have checked it out..indeed the prices my ID charged me did not include the haulage portion...so acceptable la... and ya... ...i cleaned up my place today...ID actually sent someone up to clean already..but still not as clean yet...i shacked out...seriously..sweep the place til finger got a small blister... coz abrasion by the handle of the broom... ...no joke leh...will kill.. ...hahaha

hi myrick88, did you carry out any hacking?rooms all tiles?..i found out from my cousin who is in reno business that $900-$1200 is the expected price range for now due to price of sand shoots up by 4 times..2-3 months ago, should be $600-$800. So cousin told me the price is quite reasonable already...if your $900 is quoted a few months back then it's considered higher end pricing...if it's now..very lucky for you... My cousin also helped me to go through the quotes my ID quoted me for hacking of walls & laying of tiles..he said the prices my ID quoted me for sure did not include haulage from what he sees. So it's reasonable that i pay for the haulage.. he said usually contract will state includes all uplifting of goods/materials & removal of all debris..if didn't state so..most likely haulage must be self absorbed or ensure check with ID before signing..must also take note that the quotes ID gives really did not include haulage.. so in the end..f/h & i agreed to the 1k quote...else later sand price shoot up more then prices get worse.. plus the haulage for my area is already bidded by some contractors..so most likely noone else can step in for haulages..tt's y in the end, my cousin cannt help to find better offers for haulages due to the "monopoly" for haulage service...

Thanks raincole for the advice..currently i'm still sourcing for other better offers..not easy to find one at all.. perhaps last resort will be to negotiate with him to bring dwn the price.. !!

eng98, the funny part is that we are almost done with the reno..tiles done & debris no longer in the house.. he did mention before he will need to charge haulage before we signed with him..but throughout the tiling/hacking..he did not discuss with us at all..it's only now he told us that he has checked for us..it's 1k..

hi bullet, for my case, ID is going to charge 1k for the haulage..removal of debris..mine is a new flat & I hacked ~19.6 ft of wall..can u advise on my case coz i think 1k is really kind of extortion...& i kinda have the feeling he's trying to shift his profit margin to the haulage fee as all debris have already been removed from my place..wondering where have all the debris gone to?perhaps he's charging 1k for the transportation to transfer all debris to dumping ground?
