Agree, you can consider to overlay floor but dun ever overlay wall tiles. I experienced before. my contractor adviced me to overlay the wall tiles to save the renovation cost, in the end, it make me lost money to hack all my overlay wall and lay again the new tiles. For the flooring, maybe you can choose normal laminate flooring instead of vinyl floor.
