phuket was fun. went to phi phi to snorkle and go for traditional thai massage.... shiok! but weather is sunny and hot and no rain despite it is monsoon season now. hahaha .... today reno officially start. but hdb still have not finished my rectification yet. But i just go ahead with it. Some minor touch up only after installing the new balcony sliding door, so no problem.

earliest by end of next month should be able to issue keys liao. meanwhile can start hunting for IDs lor. went to my unit on sat and seemed like a lot of people starting their reno liao, can heard all the drilling and thumping sound!

yah. the TO will handle everything. he promised 2 weeks so told him to try to speed up as fast as possible before i fly off. if by the time i come back still not ready, then i will start the wiring and aircon piping of house liao although the TO said try not to start reno before rectification have finished don't worry lah, in late april when i selected it was 3-6 months of waiting but got it in early august, so about 3 months. now u just selected also 3-6 months. can't be right? i guess most of the units have already finished retiling.... so it will be soon lor.

normally 2 weeks lor, but i request for more things to rectify after that, so kenna delay lor .... so meantime will confirm the drawings 1st lor. hopefully when i'm back from my short holiday trip 2 weeks later, everything will be settled by then welcome welcome!

yup, but partly. on the spot during the joint inspection with the TO after the rectification was "supposed" to be completed , i raised my unhappiness over some of the things. The condition of the balcony sliding door is still pretty bad, so i request it to be changed. my request to change the toilet bowl in common bathroom was also not done and it was just touched up (this was not included in the list but was added when i called him during the 1st joint inssection day). then later added in my request to change all the doors because of damaged bottom (which was overlooked). i think as long as the request is reasonable, he should be able to do it for you. But the best thing is to check everything properly and list down all major and minor defects (no matter how many) before submit. saves time this way. and now i got to wait for another 2-3 weeks. Hopefully won't have to delay my reno

reno not yet started. waiting for round 2 of hdb rectification! found more defects after the 1st submission, so when 1st round of rectification done, did a joint inspection yesterday and requested for more stuffs to be changed. haha... so another 2 weeks of waiting ....

haha! soon lah! don't worry! now 7th month also, get too early also can't do anything unless u not the "pan tang" type just some advice on aircon, the cheapest may not be the best, as what i have found out. the price of the condenser and fancoils are mostly fixed, so what the competitors can play on will be the installation. Most important thing is to ask about the insulating material, the copper piping and drainage pipe. For inverter, due to higher pressure of the gas coolant and more cold, better to get good insulating material such as class 1 and 1/2 inch thick (normal is 3/8 inch) and copper piping thicker at gauge 22 (normal is gauge 23 and 24, the larger number being the thinnest). Also make sure they they give a larger diameter drainage pipe, 16mm to allow water to flow more smoothly and prevent water clogging.

well, can be a few reasons why water can be acidic if we are talking abt pH<7. carbon dioxide gets dissolved into the water to form carbonic acid air pollution (near heavy industries) which will gets all sorts of like sulphuric acid, sulphurous acid, nitric acid, etc .. and not to forget our tap water has acidic minerals like chlorine, fluorine, to kill germs and bacteria and fight tooth decay

here are my 2 cents: rust is basically a metal oxide known chemically as Fe2O3 (iron III oxide). So a metal oxide when in contact with acidic water you should in fact get salt and water, which in fact acts like neutralising the acid. rust appears due to the exposure of the metal to oxgen from the environment (be it from air or water) and thus oxidising it. I don't remember metal forms H+ ions in water, it should be metal (more reactive ones) reacts with water to give hydroxide (OH-)and hydrogen gas H2.

same sentiments. i prefer corner units as well. more privacy. but then hor, my main door face the lift area, so people can see in also if my door is open. but nowadays, new corridor units dun have windows along the corridor anymore. so it's still not so bad i guess

i believe it will be very soon that you guys will get the keys. some update of the rectification work. in just 5 days, seemed like most of the defects like main gate, HHS door, balcony sliding door, cracked wall, rusty hinges, stained flooring has been cleared. except for toilet bowls and the vanity top still not changed yet. seemed like it's possible that the rectification work can be done pretty fast, as promised by the TO. Hope this is a piece of good news to you guys.
