The prices is ridiculous!! The electrical quote is 6800, which is crazy!! i had my place hack totally and rewire with lots of point for about 4K which i thot was very expensive! The tiles laying is also crazy, it comes to about 15K gosh... Do u mind PM-ing who is this crazy contractor that quoted u?

Hi, thanks! Yes, it's painted by white emulsion by brush.. but due to the high absorbing ability of the hollow block, the painter had to paint at at 7-8 times before the color is even. Even so, 1 mth after painting, he did another touchup. Yes, the tiles are from China, it's 800 X 800 and if i remember correctly, it's abt $3.20 from SBH. But this are all decided by my ID and the exact cost i do not know. The dry kitchen are rubber tiles, it;s brown in color, am not sure where my ID got them from.

Hi JUnkay, if it does appear, shall post it up to share... That's 1 of the consideration me n my hubby had before renovating the hse... And we concluded that within 5-10 yrs chances of moving is not high.. Reason being, my PIL stays upstairs of me and my parents staying a few blks away.. Unless the 3 families all move together, else chances not high that we will move.. Our parents been staying at their current flat for like 25 yrs. The renovation works is soooooooo slow.. contractors are all so busy.... project has been delay for like 8 weeks!! eeks, gave them a final deadline, 18.11.07 must hand over!!

Yup, that's the study. From the main entrance when we enter, when we look to the right we can look all the way to the kitchen.

Some updates... At the very last min, we change our cement screed to be floor tiles as there were no stock of the white cement and it would need 6 weeks arrive. As we do not want to wait longer, we decide to go for 800 X 800 homogenous white tiles. It will take another 3 weeks or so for the hse to be ready. Shall post some photos when the floor's up!
