2014 has been filled with a lot of FIRST for me... With the purchase of my FIRST own's house, my FIRST reno experience (luckily a good one), my FIRST purchase at Taobao, my FIRST attempt at fixing up a lot of furnitures - bed frame, writing table, tv console, sofa and even thing like door knob, WHAT?!?! Indeed, the process can be tiring...confusing...maddening...heart wrenching. BUT, hang on there! I'm rather certain that the sense of satisfaction when you see the end product is beyond words. Now, come January 2015, a brand new year, a brand new start. I've finally settle down in my new abode, and can leisurely sip a cup of kopi gao while happily typing away. And yes, here it is...Ready, Get Set...HOME! Living room Work area in MBR Kitchen MBR

Hi Aczedor, have PMed you.

Great that you & wifey love it. I just find that there's a slight colour difference but it maybe due to the monitor screen. Other than that, no complain, it was also a delightful purchase for me!

WOOHOO! More D.I.Y. project Cut up some jeans that I'll not be wearing any more. Pull out leather strips from a worn-out pair of sandals. Recycled a slightly broken wooden ornament and tada...I've got myself a personalise clothes peg container Sitting nicely on my kitchen rack

Hi Rensal, I believe you mean my dinning table. The legs are metal but hollow inside. The table top is solid wood though. Considered sturdy, just that it don't have pre-drilled holes beneath the table top to attach the legs, you have to drill it yourselves . It helps if you have electric drill lah. Another thing to note is that after I've set them up, it is a bit unbalanced, the legs are not of the same height slightly. So I did a bit of the 'balancing act' by placing a few protector pads beneath the legs. But for the price I've paid for, yah...I still think its worth it.

Thanks for the compliment! Me too was also attracted to the clean & streamline design at first look . The sofa is sturdy enough, though the legs came a bit scratched but one can't really tell unless you bent over to look underneath closely. Not those soft soft kind if you are looking for snug-into-type of sofa. Firmness level is around 8/9, if we were to apply mattress rating method..LOL. I've chosen linen blend for the fabric, which is stiffer compared to the other softer fabric that they offered. But this is personal preference. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.

Yup, yup…TB is like a super megastore..browse until blur. If you are not in a hurry, search through, a lot of choices avail. Maybe your i.d can give you some suggestions as well . There's a range of colours you can choose for the chair. I've chosen red to fit my house theme. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.112.nIWoEe&id=40315584180&_u=b1tqilhf967b The clock is not exactly a wall clock. It's to be placed on a table top/flat surface that gives the illusion the clock is melting. See this link, you'll understand what I'm saying... http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.12.SIxYFp&id=22503244344&_u=b1tqilhf84d8

Yup, I bought it @TB. Actually its those office kind of filing cabinet, d.i.y a bit to use as shoe cabinet..heeez. My two shipments with oops totalled about 3.5cbm, paid around $400-ish (GST included). So far, I only used their sea freight. 1st shipment took longer, around 2 weeks. 2nd shipment was faster, around 10-11 days. luckily, the sofa turn out ok…phew…phew. okies, keep calm & stay tuned

After salvation, the metal cabinet now look like this. Spray painting isn't that fun after all. Almost got intoxicated with the fumes although the process was done outdoor and I've also put on mask...

Hi hi, Thanks for dropping by my blog. I'm doing well . I think I have yet to post any image of my sofa, so let's take a look at pic below. Pretty solid sofa and you get to pick the colour that you want, just need to drill the legs to assemble. Link for sofa: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=17204693589&spm=a1z09.2.9.166.fJmzYc&_u=q1tqilhfb18f The vanity set is very ideal for small bathroom due to its compact size but one thing to note is the hinges inside the drawer compartment are rusty . Link for vanity set: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.74.A7729m&id=12523792841&_u=q1tqilhf7014 Like the texture of the table top, has a rustic charm Link for table: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.223.fJmzYc&id=39499921606&_u=q1tqilhfe46f I use Oops for shipment. You can check out their website for the shipping cost https://www.oops.sg/price.php Happy Shopping!

Thanks for the compliment, Freakerz! Here's the links: Cushion covers with richer colours - Fabric used should be linen and cotton blend, the feel of it is slightly rougher. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.232.DwvK2p&id=39374647108&_u=q1tqilhf6178 Cushion covers with pastel colours - Not really sure whether the fabric used is polyester, softer to hug though http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.97.Cwh2Qc&id=23756248512&_u=q1tqilhfb348 Enjoy shopping!

All my TB purchase came rather ok except for this metal cabinet. It was quite badly dented at the corners. The material is a bit flimsy, am not confident that I'll be able to hit it back to shape. Let see what I can do along the way...... Tried to spray paint to another colour, I bought coral metal spray but it appears more pinkish to me and it's kind of patchy...AAAAaarrrggghhh

Hi musicpls, have PM you Hi jelly, it is a queen size bed. The model is "Duken", see link http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/S39032646/#/S59018913 Thanks for the compliment! Yessss, you definitely can try this combi, it works . Furthermore, there's lots & lots of wood laminate choice, surely there will be one that catches your eyes!

Finally, this is my 3rd and last shipment from Taobao end Oct (29/10). From the outlook, it seems ok...phEeewWww...took a risk by buying a 2-seater sofa (see below-big white package) as well. The wait was rather long, about 21/2 - 3 weeks just for fabrication but seeing it arriving in good shape, I guess the wait is all worth it .
