  1. I do think it's slightly biased. My gas heater bills are significantly lower than my friends using storage or instant heater, and I have a bathtub.
  2. Quite a lot of people I know do cover the window with wardrobe! It's just an empty area covered by the wardrobe so you can still access it. Contractors should be able to advise you.
  3. Uh not free... 4 pieces of mirror + installation was $2xx.
  4. Hi! I just told my contractor what I wanted and he did it for me!
  5. Looks like that. But note that it's less "yellow" and vibrant than the cheaper golds. But for longevity I prefer this. Also my hubby thinks this gold more "classy" less 土豪金
  6. I also thought so when I first moved in. But seriously I am a convert. Nothing seems good enough for me anymore. that said, Karcher just came out with their first bagless system, not sure if it's MIG though. But it's very cheap, $199? My German friends say Karcher is the Porshe of vacuum cleaners in Germany... So I think not bad too. I never had a problem with my bagged one.
  7. For vacuum, I can tell you I am a dyson convert. I used to stand by my MIG karcher, but when my coffee table glass accidentally shattered all over my living room, the dyson was a real lifesaver. You can feel the suction is different, even from between the grout... I just got a Dyson rollerball one with the double turbine... The rest I can't really recommend because I feel not much diff using different brands. I just bought an Aerogas tower fan for my service yard that was super cheap and very good on Qoo10 though
  8. Loving your style! Movable furniture ftw. I love your decor and toys. Feels so personal!
  9. Hmm I switched all to the Rustoleum Universa spray. It's primer and all in one. My kitchen handles and wardrobe handles are all sprayed with this. Even my main door handles. They don't darken but if touched A LOT they do come off over time. So far only bits of my door handles came off (not noticeable) and bits of where I stand when I wash dishes. I just spray the paint on a sponge and dab to touch up the places. The cheaper ranges do darken over time and are not generally waterproof. The universal range is the most lasting. Hth.
  10. Went today, got the small one only (for toilet bowl), don't have the big one. Big one missing for quite long already...
  11. Here - I shared previously on Lux's T Blog The stick is quite hard to find now only see the refills (the blue one). If not can just buy the yellow pack MIJ melamine sponge... For ease for bigger screen can buy the bigger sponge (pre cut) one. Smaller ones can be used for cleaning taps / sinks etc.
  12. Bro, get the melamine stick or just use bigger melamine sponge from Daiso. I assure you the water marks comes off much easier. If wash every week it's like nothing. i spray vinegar solution and let sit, then melamine sponge to scrub it (don't really need elbow grease) and then hose down. My shower screens sparkle. Have been using this method for the past 2 years. I also use the small melamine sponges to clean my sinks, taps, showers. All gleaming. No polishing needed. And the big sponges/stick I use to scrub down my walls too. One will be surprised at how much unseen mold is on the bathroom walls. Hth!
  13. Exactly! Can you imagine how much money we waste on these things? Sometimes it makes my heart break at how wasteful it all is! I've really been enjoying this lifestyle. I know that something I shove into hidden storage or high up I will likely not touch, see or use for years. So now I don't do that anymore. I do save a ton of money and time. People always comment that I'm always at home that's why I have time to clean or keep my house tidy. My house looks like my pictures everyday because I really just don't have so much stuff. Haha! We are living in so much excess. I wish you all the luck in sorting things out. And cluedo is fun when you have people over so I'd keep that!!! Hahaha.
  14. We did! We trial-ed an ADORE mongrel but it didn't work out due to my asthma + her severe separation anxiety. happy that you got to give the Mongrels new life! They are amazing!
  15. I second Lux on big sink. I love my huge kitchen sink! I have a mixture of shelves and top cabinets in my kitchen. Gotta admit, the open space makes EVERYTHING nicer! I also spent some time throwing things out (you will be surprised how much junk we own!) before and after moving in. Just sent two more bags to Salvation Army last week. Im the opposite. Since moving to my small home, I've valued minimalism more and thought about things longer before I buy it. I have space to build more storage in my home but now I don't want to because I know it will be filled with junk again! Clearing out my existing storage showed me I had a lot more space than I thought I did. Especially since I didn't move in to new BTO from my parents but already have barang from living outside, I had to be ruthless! It feels soooo good after. Good luck in throwing things out. You will feel much lighter!
  16. Odd leh, their quote was lower than Helping Hands for me the last time I moved. I even had furniture to dismantle and reassemble.
  17. Hey Yeebun! i got it from Groupon at $23.90. i believe you can get it from Qoo10 too!
  18. Don't know leh! Tiling uncle mix to match one. Sorry!
  19. Your home is turning out really really well. Love your choices!
  20. I can't see the pictures! Congrats on ending the journey, and enjoy your new home.
  21. @sanguine hmm, it is holding up ok! As per wooden tables have to prevent kinks (since it's dark colored), but overall it is a very solid table. note that the extendable table is by extension, not pull open like Ikea one. Overall good for the price. Got compliments on it. Solid wood.
