  1. Hahaha I hope so. I told hubby we better really enjoy living in it for these 5 years or keep it for longer. We haven't spent a TON on this renovation but it wasn't in our budget either. Didn't want to spend a lot on this cus we're waiting to move elsewhere. But whilst I haven't had any big problems (cue crazy contractor sagas etc), I'm still waiting for this process to become fun. Guess I'll have to wait till mid-November to find out if it was all worth it...
  2. Haha, I wish I was so well-prepared. I tmrw going to chiong to buy my bathroom and kitchen sinks.
  3. And hurry post pictures!! No updates from mine makes me wanna see others' even more.
  4. My contractor say black one no issue White then dangerous that's why I gave up on my white one Go ahead and get your gorgeous black sink!!
  5. Small progress steps. Will be slow moving until the carpentry is almost ready.
  6. Haha thank you! Just want it to all be over. Haha! Between my business and this house, I am already in over my head. Hopefully it'll all be sorted out in good time. All the best for your home too!
  7. Renovations will all be delayed due to carpentry... wait for drawings for kitchen from Edmund Then Thursday the carpenter and city gas peeps will be here to install the heater and gas piping Then proceed to fabricate carpentry Glass panels and painting will be pushed back to accommodate carpentry. Going to buy bathroom sinks and kitchen sink from Hong Liang tomorrow, cannot wait alre
  8. Haha!! The good ol' days I reckon it won't cost much more then $99 but it would mean a lot IMO to buy from the traditional stores and my dad says these kind are quite indestructible!
  9. Shouldn't be too bad for toilets IMO. a lot of toilets do use acrylic solid tops... I got mine from Evershine Singapore... The color is Natural Cirrus. Hope that helps.
  10. Yes he clearly doesn't. Haha! I'm so excited to see your new place! And today I'll be speaking to my contractor. Hope the kitchen comes to life!
  11. my contractor say will stain over time no matter what. No matter what brand. If buy white la... He says like curry etc will stain, which I believe. Stainless steel to me most low maintenance, my parents had theirs (cheapo one) for like 20+ years and it still looks okay. I need to find an affordable, good undermount one. Taobao is not loading properly for me to hoot now! Hahahaha BETTER RIGHT?! Then I don't have to go with the agonizing IKEA kitchen. Now I can push all to my contractor and still fits my theme! Thanks for the vote of confidence
  12. Anyone has opinions on these items? - Black and Decker 10-in-1 Steam Mop - iRobot Roomba 650 - Granite sinks? Im in a shopping mood!
  13. I hope it turns out good! I am feeling hopeful about my kitchen again. Hahaha I know right, I already have the teapot for it. Unfortunately an island is not in the works. Haha!
  14. Haha I know, I saw your switch. But if can find from TB and shipping is cheap, still okay. I still need to ship my second batch of TB stuff that has some furniture items... Haha. Hopefully!!
  15. I wish I got choice lor. Everything I want must scour whole Singapore for one or just compromise. Very sian already, just want it to all be over.
  16. I feel you bro! I can't wait for it to be all over and to see the outcome In your entire home, what's the color / flow like? Why cannot match your kitchen?
  17. Mine is super soft kind. A bit like Silestone's Lagoon, but with more veins. Like Carrara Marble? But of course I can't upkeep marble. I have gone to see real marble slabs though, but the worker did tell me really cannot use as kitchen countertop la!! I know Dekton, but this one IMO need quite big piece then nice, as my kitchen is so teeny... Haha! This pattern quite hard to find with other Quartz also... So think you might have to bite the bullet if you're really into it! I was lucky to find mine in acrylic at only $90/ft all in. I haven't seen Dekton's twins in any other places I've gone, though!
  18. Thanks!! Got save it a bit right... Even though I can no longer have my IKEA ones with the ridges. Haha!! Still fit into my fake ang moh chu la!! The silestone one wasn't too my liking when we went down to see. I found a perfect marble one, but it's acrylic solid top. Think I just have to take better care of it, cus it's the NICEST -- I scoured Singapore for the perfect marble that's not marble -- Caesarstone, Silestone, iQuartz... You name it. But I finally found marble countertop peace!!
  19. MY KITCHEN 有救了 !! I found clean lines one with the marble countertop (which I am still super happy with!!) that my contractor can most likely do. Just need to spray paint handles from IKEA gold. But it's okay, RUST-O-LEUM to the rescue!!! I am finally feeling less dejected about my kitchen now. (Source) OMG Still fits into my theme right? I miss PeachyDurians already hahahaha. Someone please get me! And I already got my golden tap so fits right in. YAY YAY YAY!!
  20. LOL, I already know exactly how everything will look... Just that with contractor I cannot have fanciful designs on my doors (ie ridges etc). Just need someone to execute it and help me cover up my water pipings and route my gas pipings and wires. That's it. IKEA basically just ask me to slap a piece of cover panel over everything instead of altering the cabinets... Anyway Edmund is a lifesaver so I'm just gonna show him my designs and have him plan it.
  21. I decided to save myself the trouble and cut the losses. Now to get back our kitchen money + delivery costs from IKEA... I told my hubby I had enough with the back and forth la!! Some more so ex, my installation charge was like half of my kitchen charges. Not ridiculous meh? Hai, can't get my perfect result, but at least I don't have to spend my work time worrying about how it will look or turn out. At least my contractor can help me cover nice nice instead of just use cover panels... Right? And I don't have to micro-manage every part any more... I mean, I'm spending a ton as it is, I shouldn't have to care about all the details too right? Cus it's supposed to be their job...
  22. Haha one step forward, two steps backward la bro. Going back and forth with my IKEA Kitchen and vanities again. The installation charge was humongous and I think I should start convincing the husband that it's not worth it to pay so much money AND still have to worry about everything. With my contractor it's all very easy. Tomorrow meeting Edmund to talk about the carpentry works again. WHY LIDDIS AH wa meng ti wa meng ti
