  1. On amazon I cannot seem to find the currency toggle button. So I assume that all price displaying is automatic displaying in sgd? I carted an item and go all the way to the credit card payment page, didn't see any currency code there.
  2. Thanks! I think I will follow your TB link and buy those items haha. One more question if you don't mind, when contractor do the kitchen cabinet, it doesn't come with the drawer? Must I purchase all the drawer first before they start doing the cabinet?
  3. Hi DaddyWinter, Can you share the tb link for your taps and rainshower? After so long of using, how do you find them in terms of functionality and material? Thanks!
  4. Hi xhomesweethomex, Very nice home and your TB purchase are awesome! Can I know after a few months of usage, is the sink/tap/drawer still functioning well and free of rust? Hard to know whether they are really stainless steel or not without actually using them for months.
  5. Thanks! Means I need to buy my hob/hood before I start my discussion with the carpenter for kitchen cabinet?
  6. Can those taps, lights, rain shower ect be fixed according to singapore standards? Like the voltage, joints, connector for lights and the tap/shower head for plumbing. For LED light, is it easy to buy replacement bulb in sg?

  8. Hi guys, When I buy a hob and hood, who will be doing the installation for me? Contractor or electrician or the hob/hood seller? Thanks!
  9. My friend said I can ask the contractor to declare the reno cost higher than the actual cost (eg. 30k but declare 40k), then when the bank approved it, contractor will return me 10k to buy furniture ect. Is this true and still applicable?
  10. Usually when we find a contractor, does it mean plumber and electrician are included too? Or I have to find my own plumber and electrician then get them to talk to my contractor on schedule or placement?
  11. Lovely house, could you pm me Mr J and E's contact? Much thanks!
  12. Hi hazelline, could you post your taobao loots link here? Thank you.
  13. Hi guys, I am looking to beautify that ugly basin provided by opting for the Sanitary Fitting. Like the picture below, I will be getting the thin looking ugly basin for both MBR and common bathroom. Any ideas on how I can make it less ugly by not changing the whole thing? Thanks!
  14. Ah yes, conflicts is what I worried about too. Renovation is really a headache process... Thanks for the input. Normally does people show the contractor a picture of what they want? I wanted to take some example here and there from magazine but don't want a full blown reno. Not sure if a contractor allows me to do this.
  15. Thanks Pelect, that clears alot of my doubts! Looks like PLC is cheaper and can do its job while being easier to maintain. Now my next dilemma is to decide the following: 1) L-box with downlights + ceiling light + standing fan 2) L-box with downlights + ceiling fan I am afraid that a downlight is not enough to lit a 4rm 93sqm living room. Most of the pictures i saw in renotalk gives off a warm yet slightly dim effect. What I want is a well lit living room yet have a warm effect. I dropped the idea of having a cove light due to my budget and practical reason. On the other hand, I'm worried that too much downlights means more false ceiling and it means more money. Really a headache just to decide on my living area.....salute all you home owners who had finished the journey.
  16. Hi all, just check if a contractor is able to give advice and contribute his opinion when I told him my idea? I scare contractor will follow blindly my idea but cannot detect any potential flaw in design or feasibility. I know ID confirm will not make this mismatch mistake cos they are the one who design my house. But I am on budget and I have a bit of idea, so thinking of engaging in a contractor. Pls help me~
  17. Hi all experts and experienced home owners, I am tempted to do a downlight but I know nuts in this industry. Would appreciate your kind advice if you could clear my doubt on a few questions. 1) Must I do a false ceiling if I were to install downlight? If yes, how thick will the false ceiling be? 2) Will a downlight be bright enough for a 4rm bto bathroom? 3) For maintenance of LED and PLC, are the replacements (bulb/driver/transformer/ballast) easily available if there is a breakdown? 4) Can we replace the above by ourselves or we have to call the electricians? Thank you all!
