LOL...all our bedrooms also no downlights..in fact bdrm 2 and 3 only have a fanco fan with light each.. our MBR have a fan with light and 2 more lights (1 in the walkway from door to bed and another in the WIW).. Hm, i shall try removing the light cover but worry aesthetically if husband will allow..thanks for the heads up Yes , do share after u installed the higher wattage bulbs, cuz i am considering to do the same, heeehee~!~!~!

Hihi, I guess perhaps we got the same Fanco fan with light from Tampoi as you, we are now using both the 42" & 52" in bedrooms and living room. Indeed the lights are not bright enough even when currently using 2 Philips LED 12W. Good thing is our LED downlights are very bright, so it does help to brighten the place a bit..

LOL, on the contrary, we only have one warm light currently at the foyer/main entrance.. Agree it definitely looks more classier in warm lights but for practical reasons, we opted for mainly white lights which we are so used to for daily activities like watching tv, cooking, reading newspapers.. In due time, will change toilet lights to warm tone too..cuz now white light but the placement of the toilet mirror is like 40cm from the edge of the vanity counter which makes my daily make up activity difficult (gotta stretch my upper torso nearer to the mirror). Hence will do make up in my WIW, so toilet light can switch to warm light for more relaxed feel..

Hi Huiqing, They work and look good..lol we had the concern too initially, nd still do,, cuz we havent move in yet!! That's why when the contractor installed the lights in both bathrooms, i requested that he adjust the lights higher up..cuz contractor is ard 18+cm, and his hands can almost reach the light..Lighting adjustment was easy, he showed me that he can easily unscrew and slot the wire highter up into the casement and screw it tight, viola!! Currently using white light 12W LED E27 bulb, tink after this bulb fuse will switch to warm light to have a more relaxed feel..LOL! But then again, will need to think if it will be bright enough, as my bathroom interior are all black, except for the floor tiles that is dark grey..

i have bought from tampoi too and below is my experience.. Ah Kiat was the one who attended to me few mths back and based on his recommendations, husband and i chose quite a few items from the huge selection of things they have in store. We bought a total of 5 fanco fans, 2sets of Joven heater with rainshower , 20 odd pcs of 12W LED downlight (very bright when finally installed in our home), many E27 and E14 lightbulbs for our lightings which we ordered from taobao. He checked for us all bulbs and downlights were in working condition before packing, went through with us the full package and components of the heaters and fans. And indeed things were working in good condition upon installation.

At this pt we still owe him the last payment. Such a coincidence, the son replied "??" "My dad already schedule wed", which was 2 more days from that day. With no more patience anymore, i informed them formally that all small defects previously i close both eyes n accept, now they have to rectify all of them! Think all bottom kitchen cabinet doors splattered with acid, leaving unremovable water mark-like stains, which were made doubly obvious with our black laminates, small chip offs of my wardrobe laminates, water pipe only paint front n back unpainted. As a form of compensation, I told them I also want additional shelves to be added to my top n bottom hanging compartments for both wardrobes, 5 in total of which 4 was color laminates. They were able to fix n rectify all in 2 weeks! We just settled our final payment with them.

Totally agree with cliona. Likewise, we have signed with Thian boon/ Boon jie. Our flat took total 4 mths before it was completed! The bulk of things like tiling, toilets, wardrobes, false walls, electrical works n lighting were done in the 1st calender mth. Needless to say we were impressed. Just 2 discuss weeks ago, when there were small defects that need rectifying, calls, whatsapp, sms to both father n son went unanswered. Seeking their understanding to help rush the pending stuffs fell into dead ears. We were all polite n understanding throughout. At first when we meet to quotations etc have noticed the father will frequently have incoming calls but he would ignore them. We thought at first was the respect n the uninterrupt attention he would like to give us, it was later after reno started that we realised that was his pattern. Once i saw his lorry downstairs my flat during reno and i went up to see the progress etc n spoke to the worker whom said David is downstairs. Called his mobile on the way down but didn't answer,and then saw him near his parked lorry. No choice since i caught him, he gotta talk to me on the pending issues and answer my queries. Fastforward to just 2 weeks ago, when both father n son did not respond to husband and my calls n messages really is overboard. Mesaaged an ultimatum to both of them that since they were not interested to continue the the renovation, we shall deem the project as completed and the 40+k paid till date will b taken as full n final settlement of the project.

I have bought bulky items from taobao, such as 1.8m dining table with tempered glass top and wooden legs that comes with 6 chairs, 1.3m coffee table and 2.4m tv console of the same material and design. Easy assemble on my part screwing the legs to the preassembled table tops & metal chair legs to the chair backrest. And items came in good with no major defects (i would expect small minor scratched and such which was mininal, and glue smudges exist in minimal qty). No damage/cracks to the glass tops. Other than furniture, we bought numerous lighting for our kitchen, WIR , balcony etc and other misc stuffs like swivel tv arms and bean bag. Tempered glass table tops and lightings are fragile items, do remind your seller(s) to "加强保护"as you need to ship overseas, to add extra protection . You may ask them on this service by 旺旺 chat before purchasing to avoid disputes later. They will pack the items in wooden crates, and normally no extra cost, except for one of my lighting sellers which need to add RMB 20 (ard SGD4-5) for 2 lightings, which was informed before my purchase. Wooden crates were hard to dismantle at the later stage as realised but it was all worth it. @strawberry123, my husband and i went furniture shopping to many furniture shops before we decide on taobao, reason was we saw many shops selling the same exact furnitures designs we saw on taobao, and prices are easily double/triple than those on taobao, as mentioned by @shangyang earlier. Imagine my above 3 large furnitures cost ard SGD1k, and sea freight cost inclusive of GST cost ard SGD420 for all items. We would not be able to get the same stuff in Singapore at the same price. And delivery is fast too, by taobao sellers and by my freight forwarder Amcon alike.
