Hi MerryLand, Try to get a few more quotes for comparison, after getting a few quotes i think you will probably know the market rate roughly. Of course try not to get those id quote that are reputed to be $$$. Lastly, price is what you pay value is what you get.

Yes, i think you can. Try to get a id/contractor that really do the plan for your budget and not the other way round.

Reasonable Quote ? Any Missing Details ?

Hi HarperWD, Thanks for the offer, i am not considering any wall paper at the moment as my IDs have proposed to paint the wall in different shades to enhance the place. -
Reasonable Quote ? Any Missing Details ?

Hi, I think this ID will tell you upfront the 2 additional costs on top of what he quoted. 1)Haulage disposal - this is done by town council appointed contractors, any ids you engage will have to engage the haulage contractor. But some ids/contractors will include this into their package but it might you more. For this ID S, he will charge you based on what the town council contractor charges him(fixed rate), which is billed to you. ( If you want to play safe, maybe you can press him for the receipt.) If your flat is a bto, you can check your storeroom if there gave you some complimentary tiles, if it is not enough then have to buy, you maybe refer to my 4 room flat breakdown below. For my case, the total haulage fees is about 600. -Haulage fee 350 -Lay corruglated paper 50 -Additional tiles from HDB is used for the wetworks 200, Also for my own personnel experience and reading on renotalk, some id will charge you a premium for haulage fees. So far the 3 quotes that i have posted on this thread, the haulage disposal is still ok. 2)Electrical works, you will probably also need to consider what are the electrical works that need to be done before confirming the reno package. If not it might cause unnecessary delay to the reno. For my case, it is about 600 as well for electrical works as well. So far my total reno cost is about $14300. As my reno is still in progress, you may wish to follow my thread in the reno blog. -
The quote you posted is very brief and the items are not itemised, hard to tell if there is hidden 'add-on'. unless you know the renovator if not there might be some risks.

When i first look at the 3D drawings, i was abit 'wow' as i did not really expect a decent 3D drawing from the ID as my reno cost is pretty small scale(about 13K). Most id either quote a reno cost of about 30-40k to provide free 3d drawings or those who request payment for each piece of 3D drawing rendered. There is the 1st draft of the 3D drawings provided by the ID. Living room view 1, yes i build a wall partition to prevent prying eyes from looking into the flat and also a full lengh shoe cabinet. Plants and paintings on the wall not included. Living room - Wrong 3d drawing orientation by the ID, anyway the scope of my work does not include fan , tv console, coffee table and feature wall. Once again, paintings are not including as part of the reno. Kitchen and service yard 3d - Mr ID forgot to add on colors and thought i chose plain white and black. Kitchen accessories not included Toilet 3D - Does not comes with potted plants and vanity below. After looking at these 3D drawings, i wonder if most of these drawings come from a certain standard template set as some of the items are not included in my renovation. Not too sure if any bros or sis could advice if 3D drawings are really made to measure.

Find it tiring to repeat the renovation scope and specification to those renovators sometimes and the pressure also kicked in when relatives know that we have gotten the keys for months and yet to start any work. At times, although we told the id about our budget and requirements, they still propose a renovation that is higher then our budget or etc.

I have no idea but it has been left in the storeroom each time i went up to inspect. As per the quote provided by him, this cardboard is provided and lay by town council. I was also billed seperately for this. So i guess i am the owner of this. Till date, He had provided me with 2 draft of the 3D drawings. i will upload the 1st copy i have received.

Hope i have replied and cleared all the PM requests. Lastly, i have also uploaded the 1st draft of the 3d drawing. Current Total cost of renovation=14300 (inclusive of electrical works at $600, there was some miscommunication in the electrical works that cause the progress of the renovation to be delayed.) To all bros and sis in the forum, probably need to confirm the electrical works first before signing the contact.
